This was a great buy and worth every penny. My wife wanted an MP3 player that was easy to use and I didn't want to spend a lot of money and this little guy fit the bill perfectly. I have yet to receive a refurb item frome here that didn't work as well as a new one.

I love this player. I got mine back in '06 and was excited to only pay about 120 for it. When I began to research a player for my wife to use when working out I was excited to find the player I had come to love was still available and now so affordable! This has all the features one could want from a player and expandable memory to keep you from growing out of it right away. Love the compact size, easy to use navigation wheel, durability, and sound quality. It's been around long enough that there are plenty of cheap accesories made specifically for this model (armbands, docking stereos, ac adapters, etc). I'd recommend this to anyone unless you really have to have your whole 30Gb collection on your player.

I bought 2 Sandisk Sansa e250 refurbs from CompUSA. Both units would not load mp3's properly. Sometimes the units would freeze up. Files would sometimes not display on the units, but only on the computer when reading the units. Sometimes the units would get stuck ''writing'' new data. I updated the firmware on both units. I've tried loading files ripped from commercial CD's onto the units using different methods. Nothing helped make them function properly. I returned both units a few days after purchase and am waiting for my account to be credited. When I do buy an mp3 player, I will spend more and of another brand. Maybe Sandisk has good products, but I'm discouraged from taking a chance on this company's merchandise.

Sandisk does not stand behind their refurbished items. I bought 3 of these off Woot for my kids for Christmas. 1 DOA, 1 screen flickers and the third one works fine. Called Sandisk, they said sorry, but they are refurbished and we don't warranty them. I've vowed not to buy their refurbished products again.

I bought one of these refurb. units not knowing what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. Looked like a new player with not a scratch on it. I took another reviewers advise and loaded the RockBox Firmware on it. Now instead of a 2GB microSD I can use a 4GB or more. The sound quality was excellent, but I use top notch speakers as well. Only problem with the Rockbox was that to preset FM stations was a pain IMO. Otherwise I am very happy with my Sansa. Good deal!

I use this unit mostly to listen to 30 minute lectures from the Teaching Company (do people actually use things like this to watch videos?). I added a 2GB Micro SD card. I noticed as soon as I got it that the center control wheel (used for volume and list scrolling) was acceptable but unsatisfactory when used to scroll lists on the screen (e.g., song/file selection). The control is too sensitive in two ways: 1. the amount of movement needed to produce the cursor movement needed for just a one item advance was too small -- the smallest movement of the wheel jumps the cursor two or three items. It takes practice. 2. Additionally, the force needed to move the wheel is very light -- I think you could blow on the wheel and cause it to register in the software! As I've used the device (using the wheel very little, actually), the problems have worsened. Now I can no longer use to wheel to scroll -- the cursor jumps all over the list when I do. Quality of this part of the device is poor.

I've bought two of these MP3 players and think they are great for the price. Sound quality is decent and even though they are refurbished, I have not had a single problem with either one of them. Some minor annoyances are 1)low volume control 2)will not read micro sd card higher than 2GB. 3)no documentation (can be downloaded from Sansa website.) The first two issues however can be overcome by loading Rockbox software with lots of customizable options and better control if you like that kind of thing.

I bought two of these for my daughters. They were easy to set up and the small display was easier to read than I anticipated. After the first 3 weeks of use, no headphones would work on the first one. The next week, the second one won't charge. I am going to contact SanDisk to try to get replacements. Having both units fail within the first month has me skeptical of the quality of this product.

I am completely happy with my Sansa e250 that I purchased two years ago. I only wish that I bought the 4GB model. Recently I purchased another e250 for my daughter and will be purchasing two additional e250's for my son and newphew. The e250 price is difficult to pass up.

I love this thing, more than I could expect from such a little device. I work construction, so I had to get a different set of ear phones, with a little longer cord and an alligator clip but other than that, everything works, has decent volume and awesome features. radio for awhile then mp3's works seamlessly with media player.

I like this MP3 better than the iPod. It has a better quality feel to it. The screen is clear and easy to read and the quality of sound is great. I'd buy a little better quality earbuds that those that come with it but the OEM sounds good too.

While I do have a couple problems with this media player, it's the most affordable, most stable media player I ever used. My problems, in case you're curious, include having to go through some Google search to find out why my computer didn't recognise the device and how to get video files to show up and play correctly on the device, but I solved these problems pretty quickly, and I have already converted a single episode from the first season of Heroes. Basically, the Sansa plays Quicktime videos, which are MOV and MP4 files. For the most part, the videos look good, but they're tiny, so the Sansa is more of a music player than a general media player. Don't get me wrong, though, the video playback is superb. A word of warning, though. The battery life is *not* long if you're watching videos. It's much longer if you don't use the display often. To recharge the battery, just plug the device up to a computer via USB.

Excellant for the price. Few years ago, An mp3 player would have cost several hundred dollars. No real gripes other than a brief scare after i bought it. The player had some sort of corruption and an error was displayed on the screen. Then the player would not turn on. I figured it was dead. I figured that that was why you should not buy refurbs. As a last ditch effort to save it I opened the back, removed that battery then replaced it. It fired right up. I think it just needed a hard reboot to reload the software like a cell phone that locks up. Probably what happened to it originally and caused it to become a refurb. Anyway i am very impressed impressed. Would recommend as a cheap alternate to ipods.

All works good, except for the earphone jack. If you keep still, the music is clear, but if you move around, the music cuts in and out as if the head phones have a bad wire. We tried other working headphones, and they all do the same thing.

Great! bought the 2G version and ahd for about 3 weeks now. Hope it doesnt blow out rigth afer the month since its a refurb. Not one prob so far. But you can upload rockbox firware (doesnt look as nice as sansa softwre, but great features and games!) to the player and then you can play m4a audio which is awesome since i thought i was going to lose all my apple songs and didnt want to spend $200 on a new ipod.

I bought the 4gig version a few months back and I am very happy. The only nagging thing is the track wheel jumps sometimes when selecting a menu item. And dont bother using the Sycn feature of Windows Media Player, just copy and paste your music folder to the player. If you have created a folder structure for your music and allowed media player to download album art then the art will be transfered too. To the users with the ''blue ring of death'': Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds will reset the device. Failing that, remove the 4 screws on the back cover, remove the cover and the battery, count to 10 and re-install. (The battery is user replaceable. ) The ''Refurb'' letters on the back are only stuck on, they can be removed with a razor window scraper. Users complaining about lack of manual or software:Both are readily available from the Sandisk website. Go search for it, dont be so lazy and stop whining.

This thing is CRAP. First day out of the box I plugged in the unit to charge. Charged it overnight and the indicator said it was only half charged. Too bad, other than that a nice unit. Don't purchase if you think it is going to be a nano replacement. Not the quality of an ipod. Of course it was not the price of an iPod nano either. Radio works pretty good. Sound quality acceptable. Have to download the media conversion software from Sandisk but it works good once on you PC. Good menus and graphic interface. Not a bad unit. Just a shame that I have to rip this out of my daughters hands after giving it to her for her birthday to have it sent back to the factory to have the battery fixed. VERY DISAPPOINTED

Bought 3 of these players 7 months ago for Christmas - one for myself and 2 for family. Mine is now dead - only the blue ring lights up, PC won't recognize it, and its out of warranty. Features are good and while it worked it was great, but its hard to give a good reveiw for something that doesn't last. I sold a great I-River player to buy this, so thats frustrating. Another design flaw is that you can only sort through music w/MP3 tags. This means that you can't create custom folders with assorted tracks and expect to play that folder. (that would have to be done with playlists, which I don't like) Also, it makes it impossible to correctly play series of audio books. Unless you load an aftermarket firmware (like Rockbox), you may be limited in these areas. Overall, I'm disappointed and I would not recommend this player if you wish to keep it for a decent amount of time.

Great player, I show it off as a poor man's iPod and people find it funny, they stop laughing after I tell them how much I paid for it. Make sure you download the media converting software from Sandisk. It's used to load videos into the e250. Short movie clips play great.

I bought this a few weeks ago and it came only with earbuds and computer cable. No instructions. It is so easy to use, you probably won't even need the instuctions. They are accessable via internet. This is so much easier than the mp3 players that my kids have. I love, love, love it. The sound quality is excellent. If you want a value and high quality, this is the mp3 player for you!
