Comment:
Running as RAID 1 for backup in W2K3 server. Working fine on inexpensive server with two other faster (more power pulling) drives in raid 1. none Hopefully this will decrease stress on power supply. |

Affordable, you get what you pay for Ordered 4 drives, all 4 failed within 48 hours, in the course of raid constructing. Replaced them and all is ok. Don't waste you income on these. Newegg rocks, RMA procedure rapidly, |

Replaced with a Seagate. Bought 3 (two green and 1 blue). The blue one was DOA. 1 of the green ones had too numerous bad sectors. The other green 1 makes more noise than it need to Though they did back down, NewEgg initially wanted to charge me a restocking fee. Really?Bah! |

it's a hard drive! and it's green. well, installed in my antec p183 v3 via the rubber mounting grommets. I cannot hear this at all. Not much else to say, aside that it works as advertised. |

Cons:may stutter when its been inactive
Pros:Great as a media drive Comment:
I am using this as a standalone drive and it works as fast as I would need it to. Although most would say that using this on a sata2 vs sata3 system would make no difference, for some reason I saw faster speeds on my sata3 system. may just be a one off though. Great product. |

Pros:Runs nice and cool in my Rosewill enclosure which is eSATA and USB. Comment:
Have a Shaw Pace 758D cable box and wanted the PVR ablity. The box itself has 2 tuners but no internal hard drive (which is a smart design to me). Powered up the enclosure, then the cable box and after formatting was good to go. Awsome H.D. |

Western Digital WD10EARS 1TB Hard Drive Caviar Green SATA 64MB Cache 3.5IN OEM
Cons:
None really
Pros: Quiet drive Comment:
I bought one in August and one in October 2010. The older one has two partitions, one for backup and one for possibly future Linux installation. The newer one also has two partitions, one for Windows 7 64-bit and the other to store all my files. Very quiet drive and haven't had any problems. I suggest taking full advantage of the transfer speed by NOT using an eSATA enclosure. |

The WD 1TB works great as a storage/secondary drive. It's not as fast as the Blue or Black models, but great value for storage. |

Western Digital WD10EARS 1TB Hard Drive Caviar Green SATA 64MB Cache 3.5IN OEM
Cons:
only 5400 rpm
Pros: 64 MB of cache on a TB Comment:
the rpm could register as slow but the 64 MB cache makes up for it. the drive takes a few seconds to wake up but serves the purpose. I had 2 of these drives performing a mirror on a NAS. |

Pros: ideal for storage Comment:
I would use this HDD as storage or in an external hard drive. I wouldn't run my OS on this hard drive. Either get an SSD or the momentus drives. |

Cons:
Too slow to be used as a main hard drive
Pros: Extra storage for a low cost and energy Comment:
Got this hard drive along with Windows 7 Professional during a sale, thought it was going to be my main hard drive. Unfortunately, it was too slow so I formatted it so it can be used as a backup hard drive. |

Cons:

Pros: 1 TB64mb CacheLow powerquiet and cool Comment:
Just purchased this 1Tb drive for storage, Though only having it 3 days, not a single complaint does what it should. It runs very cool, cooler than my Caviar Black 640 GB, though not as fast due to being 5400 rpm, its perfect for a storage drive being that it is low power and low noise. Would definitely purchase again when more space is needed. |

cant say enough good things about this drive, I have 3 of them and work great for extra storage. I would not use one for my primary drive due to their slower speed, but they are still fast enough for basic storage.. and great price when on sale |

Western Digital WD10EARS 1TB Hard Drive Caviar Green SATA 64MB Cache 3.5IN OEM
Cons:
I really can't think of anything bad about the drive. To some it may be a little confusing about the "align" aspect.
Pros: It's super quiet, I don't hear any noise from the hard drive (in external case 4 feet away). Acceptable speed, it's way faster than my 2.5" drive and a little slower than the 7200 drive. Comment:
Slap it in the computer, hook it up to SATA, power, format, it just works, no problems in Windows 7As far as "green" goes, I could care less about saving energy, but I do like that it runs cool, even in my tight case. Runs about 34C at idle, jumps to about 40C when loading thumbnails, and to about 47C when I copied about 200GB of stuff to it. I'm glad it's running cool, don't really need anything that'll raise my case temp too much. On matters other than temperature, like setup, for me, it was a breeze. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium, just went to the Disk Management utility, followed the prompts. Physically, didn't have to set jumpers or anything, when adding this as a second drive. |
Low costWestern Digital Not really reliable. I bought three of these and two I use for mirroring and 1 for just storing media. immediately after roughly three months the single drive failed and with no warning. WD are the only SATA drives I use and I've have wonderful luck with them..except for this one. I've read some of the other feedback and they have had similiar issues. I think these are affordable for a reason and I'm going to begin employing the blacks. The two I use for Mirroring are going powerful but I'm worried.
