This asus drive is remarkable, at x24 speed you have the fastest burning reading etc speed that you can currently get without going to blu-ray.The only problem I had with this particular item was the fact that it does not come in a box and that the price is a little high comparing to competitors (Price Match it to; 13.99) |

This is a good, solid alternative to more expensive drives, and is capable of just about anything. Burning discs is crazy fast, and I've yet to have any become corrupted while being made. The drive looks great, and the faceplate is a deep, rich black.The only thing I've noticed, like another reviewer stated, is the weird "swoosh" sound it makes on starting the computer up. This doesn't seem to be a problem, but it is a little strange. |

It's a good DVD burner and reader. It's fast at reading data from a DVD. It makes an annoying swoosh sound when the computer is starting. I haven't tried burning a DVD yet but it should work fine. What else can I say, I like the Asus logo. |

This is a regular optical drive. Nothing special, but I find it very quiet. I've never had problems with ASUS drives. Got it on special too, so it was at a good price.ASUS products in general ar exceptionally reliable. This one, apparently, is no exception. |

This is just a basic dvd-rw needed for installing some software and burn the occasional cd. Does the job just fine, noise level is lower than some lite-on's I've used recently. No complaints. |
Good black coloured dvd burner. For $18 thats the cheapest you can really find and this is a good product in terms of quality.
