I don't think there are much new technology in the dvd writer industry. So get whatever is cheaper and match the color of you case. The only thing I don't like is all dvd write have their manufacture's logo on the front, it really make my gaming rig looks uncool.

It is a good CD/DVD writer. It doesn't come with a SATA cable which I guess is normal since it's an OEM version.

The only reason I needed this for my current build was to install the OC and it did that just fine. I haven't used it since as it seems like you can download everything of the internet these days, but anyways I am very happy with the product and have had no problems with it.

Nothing to really say about this product other than the fact that it worked out of the box. I haven't had any problems with any of the DVDs I've burned with this burner and it's definitely a nice speed boost from laptop and really old desktop DVD burners I've had owned in the past. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing a replacement drive. It's a solid brand name with a low price point.

Finally decided to get a dvd drive. This one works well and I can get decent transfer rates when ripping dvd ISOs. Damn quick compared to the old IDE ROM I was using before.

I'm sure you can look around for dvd drives with more bells, whistles, led lights, and such, but if you look around even further you will see how many of us have this drive, and have had it for a long time. sturdy, well built, workhorse.
