its nice to have a sata dvd drive because I really dislike using those ugly ide cables. great price for this drive also. im very pleased and have had no issues with it.

Really just another DVD Drive. This is a great product for a great price. Well if you Price Match. If your buying something that is very generic and doesn't cost you much. GO WITH A BRAND NAME YOU TRUST! Don't forget to get a sata cabe!

DVD burners are pretty generic to me nowadays. It doees what it is supposed to; burn optical media. Have only burned DVD+R and DVD-R but no DL media. Works great. Only disappointment was that it dropped in price the day after I bought it.

Bought this on price match for under $20. It is a solid dvd drive. Asus products haven't steered me wrong yet.

I bought this drive because it came with nero burning software which is a big plus considering most dvd drives are the same.No issues with drive not reading certain media. Nice bezel too. Don't forget to PM.

If pricematched, this is cheap a DVD burner. If you're waiting for BLU-Ray burners to come down in price, then this is the optical drive for you.

This dvd drive is pretty cheap, however it makes a loud noise during the start up of my computer. It also is pretty loud when it takes in cd's or dvd's but i dont use them alot so its ok and i recommend this for anyone who doesnt really use cd drives cuz its pretty loud

This is just a basic drive that works good, have not made any shinny coasters yet. This was purchased for a friend who was looking for something cheap, well he got something cheap and its not only cheap, it works very well, and looks decent to!would purchase this for any new build.

A good DVD burner for building a good computer; comparing with other brand, it is good while I had one Samsung DVD burner returned to manufacture for RMA.

always good to keep sata dvd-rw drives around since many new boards don't have PATA connections included.

Fits and Matches my full black case nicely and i really like the cutting edge design compared to some of the other DVD drives that to me do not look visually appealing.

Does its job simply perfectly. No need to go with something more expensive unless you want LightScribe... but why waste your money?

bought this on sale at $20. I did not install any of the software it came with. Runs good, and it's somewhat quiet, but I have seen quieter.

Got this with a price match to replace a noisy Lite-on. Its nice and quiet, and matches my case. Well worth the money.

Got this on sale here at NCIX and dont regret it. Comes with NERO CD and some other useless ASUS utilities. Got this to replace my OLD LG IDE, as i really hate the big red IDE cable. This is an OEM version so no box or nothing. Just the drive and CD! Also writes/reads fairly quite..could be quieter though!

This drive is quieter than I thought. Everything worked on first installation. I am considering getting more to replace some of my older IDE drives

For 15.99$ I can't complain about it, I installed it 5 days ago and didn't even try it yet so what can I say about it. It's like buying a floppy drive, as long as it works.

I use this for general purposes and it works wonderfully. Would recommend and am actually considering buying a second one for my gf.

I've had this unit for about 3 months now. Installed a few programs with it and burned a bunch of data DVD’s. The dive has been working flawlessly. Most DVD RW’s work pretty well these days but Asus is a reliable company which makes their drives a good choice.

when you are burning or reading a disc, the noise is an issue, but i think most of that kind of products have same issue.If it comes with a dvd player application or some softwares, that will be good.

Simple burner. It was one of the cheaper burners I randomly selected. So far it still works fine, every disc I put in was read and worked. I dont recall burning anything but im sure that will also work. Came with Nero software (possible some sort of demo, I never installed it).
