Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:None

Pros:Reliable, cheap
Comment:
Good CPU, no problems since buying it. Good deal if buying on sale. However for around the non-sale price may be able to get a better, 4-core CPU.

Great CPU
Comment:
This CPU runs very cool compared to my old E4600 and uses much less voltage (1.3ish v stock to 1.18125v stock). It overclocks extremely easily (4.2 ghz stable at vcore 1.35, NB 1.4, SB, 1.4 on P5N-D)! Definitely recommend. Though if you need a CPU that will not bottle neck the GPU, this is overkill. PS. Intel went cheap on the coolers. E4600 stock heatsink is twice as big than this. Just as a head's up

Great Product, Great Quality except fan
Comment:
Definitely an improvement over my old processor, much faster. Great product except for the fan which seems like a cheap system, prone to problems. Be careful installing it. Initially one of the plastic connectors wasn't fastened properly and the processor verged on overheating. (I downloaded the motherboard sensing software from Intel.) Otherwise, I'm very pleased.

Works great in my rig. Don't really need quad core processors at this point so if you are looking for a cheap and fast chip this is it.

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:A bit pricey for a dual core. Plus, support is ending for the platform.

Pros:Fast, cool and great overclocker!
Comment:
This has been a great purchase. It's fast, cool and overclocks like a champ. I think I made the right choice between this and a slower Quad. If yo're into gaming and general computer usage, I think dual cores are definitely better value.

First CPU for first custom build system
Comment:
Great bang for your buck! Been using this processor for about a year now. No issues / flaws. Big gamer and power user. Able to run multiple processes (i.e DVD burner, WoW, and AVG and Spybot search and destroy all running actively at the same time) without a system performance hit! Very reliable! NICE FAN!

Mini-desktop motherboards like this processor...
Comment:
mini-itx motherboards scream with this processor on board. I have used the e5200 as a starting point and have found that the e8400 is the sweet spot for mini-itx motherboards from Intel.

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:None (so far)

Pros:Stability and Price
Comment:
I've gone from p4 2.6 to 8400 a major difference. Played COD4,Crysis,Gears of War using xp and factory intel heatsink.Tempertures aroud 70 degrees playing games. I've ordered a Xigmatek HDT-S1283 heatsink to try and keep tempertures lower and also try some over clocking. I've read cpu can be overclocked easily to 4.0 ghz. When not gaming system idle tempertures around 40 degrees. If your looking for a bargain price and good stability you can't beat this for dual core.

Don't blink!
Comment:
I've installed this processor on an Intel DG45ID board to build a Windows Media Center PC. I gotta tell you, so far (it's only been 10 days) I am really impressed. Don't blink! You might miss something. Intel supports this processor very well online. Super fast, runs cool, (35C-36C) very powerful. Heat sink fan runs a little slow at times, but easy to overcome.

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:Not a quad

Pros:Not that expensive and quick
Comment:
I got this CPU for gaming and it is really nice. Its very quick and fits my needs easily. The only problem I have with this is that it is not a quad core so zipping and unzipping files takes awhile.

Great buy for improved performance
Comment:
This processor has improved the performance game wise and otherwise in my Dell Inspiron 518 Desktop. It is much faster and more reliable than the Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2200 that my desktop came with. anyone who does not have a core duo 2 or higher should get it. This site is cheaper and quicker to get items than going to a direct merchant (I.E. Intel). Great deal and great service.

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:: Nothing that can't be prevented:

Pros:Stock cooler is plenty of cooling for me. Idles 39-42C and hasn't gone above 60 for anything else I've run.
Comment:
It was pretty easy to get a stable 4.0ghz overclock (on water). Some might consider this a downgrade from the Q6600 I was running before but I thought these dual core processors looked a lot better than the 8xxx series of quads and much less money. Not to mention I think my performance in gaming is actually better with the E8400 than my Q6600.

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:intel isnt my favorite

Pros:get what you pay for
Comment:
I chose this processor because on sale it offered the best trade-off of performance versus price, and I didn't need a quad core for this build. I have no complaints; this processor works exactly as it's supposed to, and the included heatsink/fan works fine for a stock build
