Rus Like an Intel
Comment:
Easy install. Even comes with a fan. And runs like an Intel...imagine that. Even though Norton 360 thinks it is an AMD. My first 64-bit processor. Seat belt on. Goggles down. |

Cons:none
Pros:top notch product Comment:
Does as what it's supposed to do and does it good. I'm not using the delivered heatsink so can't form an opinion on that.I recommend it! especially at the reduced price that I got it! |

Overclocking beast
Comment:
so i have had this CPU for almost a year now. and no complaints. i didnt use the stock fan, and now i have liquid cooling, but aside from the cooling of it, overall it performs well, keeps cool and does its job. i have yet to overclock but from what i have heard i believe people have been able to get this baby to from 3.0 to 4.7 ghz, 4.5 being stable and in full working order. so overall worth the buy in the Dual core line ! |

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:4 cores are better then 2 these days with more applications supporting multi core now.
Pros:Fast, Overclock very easy, Great bang for buck currently. Comment:
Well this processor is deff a great buy. I had it for some time now and just recently decided to get squeeze more power out of it. I have a aftermarket cooler on it (fan) and have it OC to 3.82ghz x2 with no adjustments to voltage.Very pleased with the performance of this Processor. Depending on budget, more and more applications now support multi-core CPU's. So where as before higher clock speeds were better, that is not necessarily the case today depending on your use of the computer. So if you want a dual core this is great and if you have room to play consider a Quad core. |

the bus speed at 1333 really makes this processor fast. movies render twice as fast as an 800 bus speed processor. excellent and the price is not to bad |

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:Sadly can't get a 5.9 on the windows vista (64 bit) rating unless it's overclocked
Pros:Fast and quiet Comment:
very nice cpu, I was able to overclock to 4.2ghz using 1.2875v. Still withing intel's specs of 1.3625v. runs nice and cool, never goes above 60 celcius. Idles at around 40~45 and on load it's at 55ish. |

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:Starting to get outdated, by newer processor lines.
Pros:Runs very cool, even with stock fan. It is pretty fast too. Comment:
This is a very fast processor, and I heard it is good for OCing too. But I haven't tried OC yet.Good value, since it was on sale when I wanted to build a new computer. This is starting to get outdated now that it's been almost a year and a half since it came out, but it is still very good for it's performance and value. |

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:Not as fast as some quad cores
Pros:Strong CPU, good price Comment:
I got it for a mid-gaming rig and am very happy with it so far. Works like a charm stock and stock OC'ing has shown good results as well. Very worth the money-speed ratio. |

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:None.
Pros:Great balance of performance and price. Comment:
I chose this processor because on sale it offered the best trade-off of performance versus price, and I didn't need a quad core for this build. I have no complaints; this processor works exactly as it's supposed to, and the included heatsink/fan works fine for a stock build. I included this processor in a build upgrading a 1.6GHz P4 with 768MB of RAM and two 40GB Hard drives. Re-using the case, power supply, and optical drives from the old system, I paired this processor with an ASUS P5KPL-CM, Corsair XMS2 4GB DDR2 (2X2GB) RAM, and a Western Digital Caviar SE16 640GB, and this system built excellent performance for about c$400. |

Great Processor, quiet fan
Comment:
I don't know what people are talking about when they say the fan is noisy. I was curious, so I cranked it to 100%, and the fan was still whisper quiet, and it was moving a LOT of air. For some reason my computer's new BIOS reads the default multiplier as 9.5 instead of 9. No biggie, I purchased a 3.0 and got a 3.16 :D |

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:Idle temps are high, but not dangerous. I am inclined to believe that the idle sensors are not being accurately read.
Pros:Overclocks very well at a low voltageLarge increase in L2-dependent programs, compared to my former E4300 Comment:
I picked this up during a Surprise Special for $170.I easily overclocked it to 4.0 GHz, 500 FSB x 9 at 1.27v.I'm running on a P5K Vanilla (P35 chipset) and Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme. Load temps are around 55C, very cool running. For the price of $170 this is a great deal. |

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:Not running much cooler then my old CPU (e6750). Old CPU: 38 degrees idle. New CPU: 34-36 Degrees idle. LGA 775 heat-sinks and fans are a real pain to mount!!!
Pros:Fast!6MB L2 Cache (e6750 had 4MB)1333 FSBWas on Sale for a great price Comment:
The CPU is a fair upgrade from my old e6750. Larger cache, fast and inexpensive. A good CPU for any user/gamer who has a fair to moderate budget. |

Great chip, NOISY fan!
Comment:
This chip so far is great- it is fast and has great performance. BUT, the fan that comes with it is RIDICULOUSLY noisy! I am fixing to order a different cooling fan just so we can watch TV in the same room without the background noise. And that is with the case closed up and in a shelving unit! |
Alpo Rating: Review Date: 06/17/09 |
solid value performer
Comment:
Sure, there are cheaper chips, and there are faster chips, but for productivity and most gaming, you'd be hard pressed as of now to find a better performance deal. Runs cool and quiet on the stock cooler at stock clock speed. |

Great CPU! for my first build i bought this for its value and I definatley chose right! It overclocks to 3.3 ghz with the stock cooling fan and about 2 seconds of youre time. Runs fast and smooth and keeps up with my buddies 920 i7 processor which is twice the price. |

Cons:The cheap heatsink come with.
Pros:Great product for the price on sale. Comment:
Doing the job at 3Ghz on 750I FTW, and 8Go 800mhz for someone doing only web check and photo. I prefer for sure my personnal build 920 i7, but i paid 300$ for it 7 month ago. Isn't the same thing... |

Cons:None
Pros:Great processor to use, especially for overclocking so far mine is at 3.6ghz with stock cooling only. Comment:
Pretty good price 169.99 where other stores are selling for $200 or more. Very good processor to use at this time, since the new chip set still expensive at this time. |

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:None
Pros:Overclocks well Comment:
E8400 is currently running Orthos stable at 4.35Ghz, 1.35Vcore, 39C idle, 54C load on both cores (Speedfan and Coretemp).I updated my XFX 650i ultra mobo (same as the evga) to bios P05, and dropped in the new e8400 that I scored for $169 on Surprise Special. With my Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro, and 2GB of OCZ and 2GB of Kingston Valueram... plus a 60mm fan on the NB heatsink... it's all good.Too easy.I think I'm at about the max FSB of the mobo. This and my 4890 should extend my cheap cheap rig for a while yet. |
wow. huge step up from an amd 6000x2. Gave me plus 20 fps in atleast every game. Counter strike it gave me a 55 fps boost. best deal ever
