Intel at its best
Comment:
This is the best cpu I have ever owned. Hands down. Well worth the money, and it plays games like a pro with my 9600 GSO, no lag WHATSOEVER. I've heard its great for overclocking, but its so fast there is really no need. Buy it. |

Comment:
this is my Motherboard Intel DX48BT2 X48 Socket 775, I upgrade Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Processor BX80570E8400 - 3.0GHz, 6MB Cache, 1333MHz Federal Security Service, Wolfdale, Dual-Core, Retail, Socket 775, Processor with Fan. everything works very well, but for the persons that only it uses for video, photos, music and audio, I recommend to them this CPU. Notice: for the person who wants to play game it is not so well why frieze and it produces error in the system. I think that he is the fan who does not work well for the Game, it warms up very much spread Play. good luck |

Great Processor!
Comment:
I installed this on a nForce 750i SLI board in place of my 3Ghz pentium d. I imediately noticed a difference in the boot speed for some reason, and also in the speed my programs load. I now have it overclocked to 4.0Ghz and combined with my GTX 280 this thing makes Crysis look photorealistic! Definately worth the price, i recoment this over any in the quad core series! |

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:None
Pros:Cheap, overclocks like a banshee! Comment:
If you have the right cooling solution, this chip will go far beyond what the box reads. Why pay $$$ when you can just dial up these suckers. With an H2O system you will be very happy you didn't go out and buy anything more expensive. |

Works great
Comment:
I put this on a xfx 780i board in place of a pentium d 800mhz fsb 3.0ghz. front bus speed makes a world of difference in speed. Runs good overclocked to 3.6ghz. for the price can't go wrong |

CPU great, Fan bad design
Comment:
The Intel E8400 may be a great processor, but do not rely on the fan that comes with this box set. It uses plastic "punch-thru" type pin fasteners and will not stay in the motherboard holes. Buy the Masscool 8W553B13 fan as a replacement, save yourself the hassle. It has a female threaded base that feeds through the mobo bottom to provide threads for the fan screws. It works better and provides better cooling from the cowling around the fan which creates better air flow than the Intel fan which is an open-frame design. Other than a bad fan design, this CPU is great. |

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:not 4 cores =P
Pros:OC capability Comment:
I got it stable at 4.0 air cooling at 1.29v. Its down to how much time you willing to spend on tweaking the motherboard setting. Overall very satisfy with the results. Although I could spend almost the same amount of money for a q6600, but I rather have a higher mhz core. |

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:Stock Heatsink/Fan
Pros:InexpensivePlenty of L2 Comment:
Purchased on sale for a new build. My logic was to stay with dual core with lots of L2 rather than quad core and still keep total costs down. Ran fine right out of the box although it is only showing as running at 2.33. Needed to do some fine tuning. The stock heatsink and fan are a little tricky. Required guite a bit of pressure to mount. Felt a little scary but just be careful. I would set the heatsink/fan on the CPU first to spread the compound around, and then try to mount it as indicated in the included documentation.Idle temp with stock fan is only 14 degrees. Highest it's been is about 25 degrees running AutoCAD in 3D. I don't game so can't comment when "working it". This review was modfied by poster @ 05-14-09 10:42 AM |

Comment:
There was no problem with the install, and it preformed correctly. But I thought that it would have been a bit faster. I have others DC CPU that are smaller yet perform faster than this one. |

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:- No kitchen sink.
Pros:- Keeps cool.- Fast processor.- Ideal for gaming. Comment:
I bought this processor for my first custom computer build. Worked perfectly out of the box- my only gripe was the stock cooling fan, which took some major pressure (thank god i didn't snap the mobo) to fasten the push-pin connectors. Ideal for gaming; I highly recommend this cpu. |

Cons:I dislike the fan fixations.
Pros:Lot of power for the price! Stable and does'nt heat with stock fan. The fan is quiet. Enought for any task or game. Came with an Intel Core 2 Duo sticker ;) Comment:
A great product! Running any recent game at more than 60 fps on this less than 900$ system:ASUS P5Q Pro, OCZ Reaper PC2-8500 DDR2 2X2GB, XFX Radeon HD 4850, Antec Three Hundred, Hitachi Deskstar P7K500 500GB and Corsair TX650W. |

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Comment:
I installed this CPU into an Asus P5Q motherboard. This CPU is amazingly fast.I combined these items with a Seagate 300GB,SATA-300 hard drive,2 GB of Corsair Dual Channel memory(PC6400 DDR2 800 Mhz);and a Visiontek Radeon HD 2400 Pro,PCI Express Video Card(256 MB DDR2).This processor emits only 65 watts, making it easier to cool.I am very fond of Intel CPUs, and this CPU lives up to my expectations. This was my first experience with installing a fan made by Intel.I was disappointed.Intel needs to improve the so called easy install push buttons for CPU fans.Instructions state that you can install the fan on a mounted motherboard, but after starting this procedure,I didn't continue for fear of cracking the motherboard.I removed the motherboard and installed the fan(required more effort than expected).I could hear the plastic nubs snap into place, when they were properly seated. There was a slight curve in the motherboard after installation of the cpu fan.Otherwise, the fan is of high quality. |

Pros:Monster overclocker, low temps, and 45nm! Great bang for the buck. Comment:
I have the exact equivalent of this the Intel Xeon E3110. I got that one because I purchased this during the backorder when it first came out every retailer was sold out. Other than that it was great and it's really fast! |

Overclocking potential is just mind boggling. They run cool and fast. One of the best chips on the market. Had a friend with one of these get up to 4.2 on first install, amazing. Going to overclock this in the next couple of months once i get some better cpu cooling. |

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:one of the core sensor is not working
Pros:- great performer & not a heat dispenser - its a great cpu to cool it passively - priced reasonably Comment:
again, if you pursue silence you need this bad boy armed with HR-01 plus and you are set. I tried to o/c it (but i really don't have the need to do so) and i got 3.6 on air (again just to put this into perspective, i am not a o/c expert or anything close)so would i recommend this cpu? Yer sir indeed. |

Cons:None that I can think of
Pros:FastGood Overclocker - If I ever get around do trying that outOne of the best dual core processors on the market today Comment:
Bought this for my new build. I was really thinking of going Quad Core, but didn't really have the money for it. So far I'm happy with my choice. Most games out now aren't multi-threaded and unless you are a serious multi-tasker or you're encoding videos or a graphic designer, you really don't need Quad-Core. Overall I'm happy with my choice, but I will say this, my next upgrade will be a Quad-Core for sure. |

I dont have it overclocked, but with 4 gigs of kingston ram behind it, it handles like a dream, stays cool, plays all my games |
I bought this processor to replace an older one that wouldn't do the trick for doing photo's. Worked perfectly out of the box- my only gripe was the stock cooling fan, which took some major pressure-luckily I didn't snap the mobo-to fasten the push-pin connectors. I highly recommend this cpu.
