Bought this for a friend's build. So far this is the fastest processor I've been able to get my hands on. Hope I get a chance to OC this thing.

Intel Core i5-750 2.66GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:None

Pros:Good OC'r, runs cool under water cooling.
Comment:
My old core 2 duo packed it in so I went with the core i5. Mostly i didn't have the extra money for the Core i7. With an ASUS P7P55D-E, I have this OC'd to 4.0Ghz at 45 degrees idle 65 under full load using Water cooling. Installed with Corsair DDR3 1600 C7,8,7 and a 60GB OCZ Turbo SSD. This is simply the faster computer I've ever built. Powered by a 1000w Antec power supply. Mobo, RAM, CPU, POWER Supply, CPU water block all for $1150!!! $1150 for a Quad 4Ghz machine is pretty sweet. OS loads in 18 seconds! Didn't need to replace by NVidia 8800GTS...but I think an new ATI card is in my near future.

This chip rocks
Comment:
I don't know what you need hyperthreading for, so I wanted to save a few bucks with this quad core. This chip is awesome. Encoding 12 minutes of h264 on my old T8100 based laptop was fast at about 14 minutes, and I was blown away by it completing on average in 110 seconds. Heat is not a problem with the included heatsink for me. I am not overclocking, and it idles at about 32C, under full load gets around 60C - cools back down quickly.

Intel Core i5-750 2.66GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:none yet

Pros:Cool, Powerful
Comment:
bought this CPU for my first build and it was very easy to install. The stock cooler is quite good if you run the CPU at stock settings and manages to keep it quite cool.I am happy with the performance/price and would buy it again

Intel Core i5-750 2.66GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:Can run a little hot at times.

Pros:Costs a lot less than i7s, the only true quad core of the i5 series (meaning 4 cores without hyperthreading). Works like a charm.
Comment:
Roughly 3 months ago I was building a new pc from scratch and had to make up my mind about whether I wanted an i7 or i5. The i7s are slightly faster but looking at the costs I would have had to pay about 600 dollars or more to get an i7 processor/mobo while the i5 would have been under 400. I decided to go with the i5 and haven't regretted it thus far. It's got enough power for my needs and I've yet to overclock it though if I do I'll likely be buying an aftermarket fan/heatsink as the stock ones are so-so. I've yet to hit the summer time so I can't say how hot my rig will get under those conditions but I think cooling is the only issue you might run into with this processor, and I suspect the i7s have the same issues. It's not that it runs *that* hot but I like to keep my processor under certain levels to reduce the chance of damaging it.For anyone curious, I bought this processor in conjunction with a Gigabyte P55A-UD3P motherboard. The motherboard cost me around $150 so I really saved on the costs I would have faced had I chosen the i7. Both the P55A-UD3P motherboard and i5 750 have my approval as solid products at a good price.

This thing has taken everything that I have thrown at it since I have bought it with no issues. I have yet to overclock but others say that they can hit the high 3s with ease.

Cons:Not an i7

Pros:OverclockableFastOverclockable

Bought this for a new build. Was going with i7, but short on cash decided to get the i7. This processor is more than enough for what I need, and easily overclocked to 3.9ghz on stock cooling, without even trying.

Great Processor for the price!
Comment:
I purchased this processor while on sale for 179 and I am glad I did. Even without over clocking this is a great processor! I built my I5 750 system for 600! IF I get all the rebates back I will have only paid 520 for a new I5 system!

This thing is awsome seeing I went from a pentium 4 to this. I also make sure you get a good board that can handle it. I put it in the Asus Maximus III Formula MOBO

Great CPU... Especially when overclocked!
Comment:
Great CPU. But be careful overclocking it. This CPU is very CPU VTT Fragile. The Manufacturer Limited the Max VTT at 1.21 volts. They said that is even pushing it. They said for real world safety keep it at 1.15. Well I say as long as you keep the temps in check with a good cooler you won't have a problem. Besides I was able to get to 4.0ghz with 1.25 VTT's just above the suggested Voltage. With a Vcore of 1.36. Max temp of 67c. But I wouldn't suggest a high VTT like the i7's of 1.4 or more.... your CPU will surely die then! Otherwise with this CPU overclocked... I easily beat it's i7 800 series cousin and even compete with the higher end i7 900 series cpu's. Why spend 200 dollars more when you can overlcok this one. Get better performance... and save some money for a better video card... and a SSD? Think about it guys... not to many applications can even use the hyper threading.

Bought this for my new system build. CoolerMaster HAF, V8 Fan, 5750 video card, OCZ Vertex SSD. Hoping to OC it! Obsessed with trimming down boot speeds (and making a fast running system overall). Will be vLite'ing W7 and seeing how fast this baby will run.

Cons:If only there was hyper threading

Pros:COOOOOL! (no pun intended)low voltage, but HIGH clocks

Corsair HX650, ripjaws 2x2, 1tb hitachi's, p7p55d pro, and H50 liquid cooler. Stays under 30 on idle, undeer 55 on load. great little chip here for everyday and/or gaming use.

Nice Processor
Comment:
Works very well and fast, but if you use it for virtual machines seems to get buffer overflows a lot causing the CPU to get overloaded . Wish it had the hyperthreading but i will add a I7 to my machine later. But all in all a very nice fast processor

Intel Core i5-750 2.66GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:It doesn't have hyper-threading but for a hundred dollars more you could get the i7-860 which does.

Pros:Faster than my prevous AM2 5000+ BE o 3000.
Comment:
When I built my new system I was trying to stay with AMD but it was hard to find a compatible board that had sli. I finally researched enough to find out that with the Intel 1156 platform you could have sli or X-fire and it had a lot more options with a better choice of processors at a reasonable price. With the i5-750 you can't beat the value for the price.

Nice bang for the buck
Comment:
Good processor. I very modestly over-clocked it to 3GHz and I'm using the Corsair H50 cooler. I may go a little more but I'm taking it easy since this is my first time over-clocking. Nice and stable, chews through everything I hand it. Almost a month of daily use. The stock cooler didn't inspire confidence in me so I never bothered with it, your mileage may vary. This is the reason for the 1 star ding in Value. I'd prefer it if Intel would stop bundling crap coolers and bring the price down a notch or put something worth having in the box. Ubuntu 9.10 64bit and Windows 7 dual boot.

Bought this CPU for upgrade after using my P4 for 7 years. Great price, and lots of potential for overclocking. Easy to install. Good quality, as expected from Intel. At OC, u can get much more than the more expensive i7. Great performance and price ratio!!

If you are planning to run a small Hyper-V lab, with Intel MBD, it is a great solution. Remeber this CPU does not have onboard video for DH55TC Intel MBD.

This processor does a good job but not great... You can get a phenom II 945 that will smoke this processor to pieces for less money. I went to a phenom II 955 black edition and outperforms the I7 I had for 300 less. My benchmarks skyrocketed with the amd chip. you make the call!!!
