Easy install
Comment:
All went well with the install, and it seems to work well. There are W98SE drivers available for this item too. All testing was done very close to the wireless router, so how far it will transmit and receive isn't known.

BIG PROBLEM WITH PRODUCT
Comment:
Installed this product in a perfectly working Gateway computer and wore a ground strap. After installing computer would not power up any longer.I found that motherboard was fried. I made a coulpe contacts and can get no help. Will have to purchase another computer. The netgear card is apparently the cause!

Its a joke
Comment:
I installed the drivers 1st... Put the card in, started and great it worked. Then after a day it started cutting out. I reboot and it works ever 3rd or 4th reboot. Could be a bad card could be Vista who knows, but it is now in the trash.

Worthless - there was a reason it was returned
Comment:
Product didn't get used for the first 45 days so I couldn't return it-it only gets a signal if the wireless router is within about 10 feet. Card is useless and now it's obvious why it was returned the first time and the so called REFURB GHOST

Great value.....unless they don't work
Comment:
I bought two of these to try an get my kids desktops wireless. I tried them in 3 computers each(their two and mine). I used the updated drivers (wg311v3.3.1). They were all win xp pro. One card could not be recognized in any machine. The other was recognized, and the drivers loaded, but then it could never find signal even sitting a foot away from the router. I know my wireless works because I use a laptop every day using the same wireless I was trying to connect these cards to. I was going to return them but it is for replacement only and the cost of shipping was more than I paid for these. Wonderful paperweight though!

Very Good Deal for a Refurb
Comment:
Bought 3 of these and installed on 3 computers with XP Pro initially. 1 worked and had to return 2 for replacement. The replacements worked beautifully and reliably. I'd say its a good buy but test it right away just in case you need to return within the grace period.

Works great in Windows XP and Ubuntu
Comment:
Oredered two of these cards and both are working great. You do have to install the software FIRST in windows. Ubuntu does take some configuration and does not work natively. Very happy with the cards and would use again.

Mine did not work
Comment:
I cannot say if it is good because it did not work. This is the only product I have purchased from here that has been bad. I have made numerous purchases. It was bound to happen. Oh well I will just get something else.

Great Value!!
Comment:
This is a great value! The only thing that slowed me down was there is no driver disk with the packaging. Not a big deal, just make sure to get the latest driver from the Netgear site on your thumb drive first prior to going total wireless and you'll be set. Overall this is a GREAT value for a wireless NIC even if it is refurbished!

Win 7 users DO NOT BUY
Comment:
There are no approved drivers for this. Short of having to use nonstandard drivers, and booting windows in a mode that allows the alternative driver to load every time. It becomes annoying to my customers. I will NOT buy this EVER!

Good for the money
Comment:
I ordered 2 cards - I decided that at this price it's worth taking a chance. Kudos to this site for the LIGHTNING-FAST shipping. I installed them in XP and Vista desktops. Installation was very straightforward. Keep in mind that you'll need to download the drivers from the Internet, BEFORE you can use the card. If you don't plan for this you might end up whining like some of the goofs here.I give it 1 star for

Error Code 10
Comment:
Have tried this card on numerous XP PCs, with the same results as Myan (below)stated. Says it cannot start, even after drivers appear to load ok. Will try Myan's advice for other drivers besides those posted at Netgear.

Very please with this card. Met and exceeded what I expected from it. Placed it in a friend comp, found the drivers because it didn't come with a disk. Loaded the drivers up and instant net use at faster speeds then my personal hard wired system. Thinking of switching to wireless and getting a couple of these for myself. Great little card.

Good Price mine didnt work
Comment:
After buying this item and trying to install it on multiple computers I soon realized I had made a mistake. My particular item seems to be defective still because i'm getting a code 10 could not start error every time I get the card installed. Apparently there is a lot of problems with this version of the card. There is a couple of more driver versions out there one by trendnet and the other by Marvell. If you cant get your card to work try those. The chipset is either 8335 or 8355.
