Great value, but....
Comment:
it could really use driver CD. Other than that it was very easy to install and works great with my 12-year old Dell.

works fine, poor range
Comment:
it works fine, but very short range, good for adjacent room. i get better performance from the WG111 usb version, especially when hung off an extension usb cable.

Drivers???
Comment:
I understand that i was buying a used product, at a teriffic price, but how is it that i was supposed to get drivers for this?? use the internet right? if i had the internet on that computer i probably wouldn't need a wifi card. Luckily i had a friend that could download the driver for me and burn it to cd.

Not Satisfied
Comment:
Bought 2 of these for my childrens bedrooms to avoid running wires. They cant get enough signal from a router 25 ft away to keep a signal. fortunately they are cheap enough to throw away and run wires like I should have done in the first place.

Very Good Adapter - Not So Good Setup
Comment:
This adapter box didn't even include a full description of the product so when I went to download a driver, I had to guess whether it was v1, v2 or v3. Guessed that a refurb should be the most recent so a download of that driver version worked. After that it worked great and has been for the past three weeks.

Good product at an even better price!
Comment:
I have to believe that many people don't bother to read and follow instructions or pay attention to the information that is provided for these recertified and reconditioned products. This was the last leg in updating my home computer and home network. I've added a recert router with two recert print servers, a recert laptop, a recert desktop, and finally this recert Netgear Wireless Adapter for the old desktop. I haven't had a real problem with any of it except for some false steps when I didn't follow instructions. Fortunately I'm able to read, so at this juncture the network is working perfectly including the just added old desktop using the almost plug and play Netgear Adapter. Short of having everything installed for me, the whole process was fairly easy. You just can't blame everyone and everything else when you don't know what you are doing. Or maybe I'm just lucky. Word!

windows 7 clunker
Comment:
no driver CD provided. The scrap of paper included in the box steered me to a Netgear driver installer program that is not Windows 7 compatible. Search of Netgear support forum gave some other options, but none worked for Win7 64bit. With a 30day warranty, that's not enough time to see if there is valid driver for this P.O.S.

Worthless
Comment:
The card installed easily but the almost non-existant signal strength 5' away from the router (yes, the antenna was installed) makes this card useless. The value of this card is only worth keeping the antenna as a spare.

Installing under Ubuntu
Comment:
There are three different versions of this card with different chipsets and incompatible drivers. The version number is written on the card itself, so if you are smart you will check the version number before installing it so you can download the correct driver, since instead of an installation CD all you get is a note that the latest installation guide and software may be downloaded from the manufacturer's website (I can't list the website address in the review). Mine turned out to be Version 3. I found good instructions on how to get this particular version working, but unfortunately I can't list it here because product reviews can't contain web links. I just want you to know that I did get it working but it was kind of a pain and required downloading both ndiswrapper and a windows driver (and not the default one from the manufacturer's website), so don't expect plug and play compatibility. Good luck!

ABSOLUTELY USELESS WITH Windows 7
Comment:
Basically this won't work with Windows 7 !!! No drivers of any use can be found at the Netgear site. Browsing a discussion forum I found out that some Win 7 drivers can be found in the Marvell site (chipset drivers). However those lack proper signature and won't install. Netgear is way too slow in providing the proper drivers to this product that can be found in shelves everywhere... it is not like it is too old to support... What a waste of time and $$

Netgear retails for $49.99, I got it for $8!
Comment:
The only down side of this is it doesn't come with a disk with the driver, but once I anticipated that, I burned a disk on a different computer, and when the computer I ordered with it came, I loaded the driver, followed the onscreen instruction, fit it easily in the PCI slot, twisted on the antenna, and it set up the internet connection for me and acted like a brand name product. I read some reviews of some other cheap wireless adapters and people had a hard time setting them up. This was easy. I felt such relief! I love it when stuff WORKS! I'd rather have a brand name refurb from a reputable dealer (CompUSA) than a new cheapo with irregular updates to drivers and crappy compatibility, pin fit, etc. If this is what you think you need, don't hesitate, buy this one. I'm thrilled, and for $7.99, I SHOULD BE! Now my 'under $200 PC' is wireless, and STILL under $200. Thanks CompUSA!

Great price and product
Comment:
People don't understand the NIC card is the recipient and not producers of signals. You install the software FIRST then the product. Once that was done it boot right up and connected instantly.

We don't need no stinkin' software
Comment:
Purchase a device intended to allow you to access the internet. The software is available for download online?? So which do I do first? Get on the net? Download the software? Windows Vista didn't offer a driver! So after I download, the software restarts my PC in Admin mode. I haven't used admin on this pc ever. And I thought going wireless would be the easy solution. I'll just get a longer cable.

Don't waste your money

I purchased this over another brand thinking I was getting good quality but it's not worth the box it came in!I had to move my tower twice to get a better signal Still works on and off. Feels like I have dial up again.

Worked Great for me
Comment:
Not sure what some of you crying about. I had no problems with this card. Once I got the wep code right it worked great. I installed this one on old home built computer and it picked up our wireless router from appox. 300 ft. away. So I would say it works great. I am buying 4 more so that all computer in my house are wireless. Great product.

This thing isn't working in win7 x64
Comment:
I got this for my new built desktop, using windows 7 x64. I tried all the divers I can find. Unfortunately, all failed since win7 x64 wont recognize the digital signature. So, stay away if you are using x64.

Not a totally bad product
Comment:
I bought 3 of these. It installed ok on 2 of them but took away the Welcome Screen. Though I did figure a way to fix it, I thought it was not to bright of Netgear to force this change. The one that did not work did work after I reformatted the PC so I am pretty sure there were issue with the PC.
