Love this product
Comment:
its a good card easy to install cones with antenna and wireless card and a paper that include website to get drivers from any one can easily go to their local library to download the drivers onto a floppy or USB thumb stick. Has low performance tho when connected to a home network but is the best when connected to the internet.

worked fine. great for the money.

5 minutes to install. 5 minutes to download software (no serial number necessary). Works fine, adequate speed from a cheap wireless router 30 feet away. I'm no techie and this was a breeze. Great value for me.

I ordered one of these with a refurbished computer from Tiger. Unfortunately, the new computer already had a wireless card in it. Unadvertised feature? Anyway the installed card wouldn't get a strong enough signal even though my laptop worked fine at the same location. I installed the Netgear adapter and results were no better. The value to me is zero.

Not the greatest

I am a computer tech and so I built a computer for my daughter but I did not want to run wires through the house so I bought this wireless card and since I already have a laptop that is wireless and it works great I thought this would be good too but I have had nothing but problems with it and it gets crappy reception.. I don't know what the problem is but I think this product is garbage..

not a good product

I could not get the product to work. Found out that it was refurbished. I did not know that when I bought it. It would cost me as much to ship it back for a refund as I would get in refund. Not worth standing in line at the post office. So, its in the junk pile. No more buying online for me, unless I get a guarantee that includes shipping.

Don't Bother
Comment:
Product came with a note indicating that documentation and drivers could be downloaded from the Netgear website. This did not work out. The serial number was removed from the recert-unit. One needs a serial number to get service at the Netgear website. I did find a driver on-line through google. After a day or so the system managed to get the update installed. Unit only works sometimes, usually a surprise. Most of the time the unit does not find the gateway 10-feet away. Most of the time the wizard won't even launch to check out anything. For $10.00 plus shipping I've obtained many hours of fruitless ''entertainment''. I've bought several books and ordered some parts to help construct some test equipment ... probably should just have bought the chipset.

My son told me to go to Tigerdirectcom to purchase this item and save some cash. I was hesitant as it was too good to be true. But the kid was totally right. I didn't have to run a bunch of wires through my house and I have a great wireless connection in my bedroom now. My son did help me downloading the driver I needed, so remember, it's always good to have a Computer tech in the family. I can't believe I have this great connection for under 10 bucks!LOVE IT!!!!!

The installation was horrendous. It doesn't come with a driver CD so you have to download it from the manufacturer site. Simple, huh? WRONG! I found out too late that the driver caused problems for so users. It disabled the XP welcome screen and, thereby, disabled switching from admin to other user. It took me forever hours to search through 20 threads on the matter to find a solution. FYI, finding the DLL file in the registry editor DOES NOT WORK since it's not there! In fairness, it sure beats a USB wireless adapter.

Didn't work right for me :(
Comment:
Tried it in a couple computers. I couldn't get a stable signal with it. With one of the computers it was actually causing it to crash consistently. Actually when I bought it I didn't realize it was refurbished...if I had, I probably wouldn't have bought it. I'm sure most of them are fine, it looks like I just happened to get a bad one. I'd like to take it back but it seems like too much hassle for $30.

What to say? I opened the box. I plugged it in. It worked. (Having to go to the Netgear website to get the installware was a bit of a drag but for the price how can I complain?) Don't buy it if you are looking for 802.11n speed, it's for 802.11g only.

bought this to connect my kids computer connected to the internet. everything else i have is another brand, but for the price 9.99 which i paid, i thought i would give this a try. i connected this and has been running with no problems for the past month. i had one problem during the install though. after installing the software i went to set up an account on the computer for the kids but it said something was now disabled. long story short i couldnt create a seperate account for them, no big deal though. dont let the

Good value for an okay adapter

Aside from being annoyed by the disabling of the Windows XP welcome screen and the lack of software and support that comes from getting a refurbished product, this adapter was easy to install and is doing exactly what I wanted it to do at an incredibly cheap price.

Not Impressed
Comment:
I wasn't impressed with the signal reception and I really wasn't impressed with the software used to control this device. Once installed, the software disabled the use of the 'Welcome Screen' in Windows XP. I found this odd. Plus, it seemed to be very resource demanding. I don't normally write reviews, but I thought this was important to share with others. This product does work, but not well. The cost is low, so you may be able to tolerate a few imperfections.
