It works
Comment:
Using it to stream 1500kpbs stream from Netflix on XP. It works just fine, though Windows says the signal strength is very low just 15 feet from the router. No dropouts, though I have no competing networks in my neighborhood. For $8, hard to beat. Read the install instructions for XP. Need to get the drivers off the netgear site and install them before the card.

Junk
Comment:
If you don't mind waiting a couple of hours for the thing to connect Configuration and software interface is fantastic, but it takes 1-2 hours before it detects the wireless router, in my case, only 10 feet away. However, once it connected, it does not drop.

May work but not for me.
Comment:
I guess I'll be the first to point out that the Marvell 88w8335 chipset has no native Linux driver. Supposedly the NDIS wrappers will make it work, but I'm not into that, so I'm writing it off as a learning experience. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the hardware, although I can see how a high-gain antenna would be a great improvement.

Good luck.
Comment:
Well, if you have a 64 bit system, specifically Vista or Windows 7 RC (Apparently in earlier versions of 7, the windows update driver works, but they changed something to mess it up, fun!), good luck getting this thing to work, you'll either get a code 10, or the drivers you find won't be digitally signed. I stressed for about an hour, and after some digging found that there is a flaw, where it won't work if you have more than 2GB of RAM. Another solution is to disable certificate checks, why go through all this trouble for something you are paying for? Anyway, this is really annoying, if you have a 64 bit system, it'll be a bit more sluggish with just 2GB. But, after getting it to work, I have not lost my connection, like with a usb adapter. My advice, do your research before buying a product that has a really good price. In the meantime, I'll probably just switch this one with my gf's adapter, since her's is a Ralink chip, and this card and Windows XP 32 bit are good bosom buddies.

Great wireless card
Comment:
Have two of these cards now, both work great here. No problems with them at all. They do what they are supposed to do, nothing fancy. Great price for this card, might have to order a few more for future use!

Decent but having some issues
Comment:
I installed this adapter and was able to connect to my network. However, for some reason, since installing this, my USB ports are no longer working...still trying to figure out why.

device appears to be very good. Unfortunately I gave mine to a friend. ( will get actual feedback from him.) To the readers, trust your instinct and go for it. The deal is great, and remember, too many people can never be all wrong. J. Max

Great performance, a few quirks
Comment:
This Netgear adapter performs well and is a great deal at $7.99. There are, however, a few quirks. Some people may notice that they're only getting a 1 or 2 bars signal according to windows, and that their signal strength is low. Pay no attention to this. What you need to look at is what Netgear's interface shows for signal strength and how many MBPS you're connecting at. I connect at 54 MBPS, yet windows only shows me with 1 bar and low signal strength. I have fully tested the speed of the adapter though and despite what windows says, it is operating at full connection strength. I'm not sure what causes this quirk, but you need to disregard what windows connection manager is telling you. Also, the driver for this adapter causes the windows logon screen to appear whenever you boot the computer. Not a big deal. If you don't have a password, just hit enter and you're good to go. You have to download the driver from Netgear's site as the adapter doesn't come with a disc.

Great card for a great price!
Comment:
Not sure what t-top was talking about. On Win7, I had to disable driver signing (F8 at start-up) to install this card, but after it works flawlessly. Able to detect and connect to my neighbor's wireless router that is about 250' away! Using it to use my PC as a wireless access point now. Great!

watch out.
Comment:
This product comes without a driver disk. Usually not a big deal, except this is a network card and needed to connect to the internet! When I finally got to the internet it took multiple attempts to get the driver. You should also be aware that the product has its own connection software that will run the connection regardless of what you say. This software will not log into a network point if you use anything but letters in your password. The short is I spent hours setting up what should have been a ten minute install.

Questionable Purchase
Comment:
Seldom do I not give a good review but this one is a questionable purchase. It works fine and easy setup but Netgear has a bad bleep. It automatically configures your logon screen to the classic logon. I was building a computer for my Grandchildren and this just does not cut it for them. Too much confusion at logon. I went to Netgear website and that is a feature on the card that cannot be changed. Next time I will purchase something other than Netgear.

7.99, What a Bargin!
Comment:
WOW! I boot 4 operating systems (XP,Ubuntu,Vista,Windows 7) works great with all! 7.99 is a steal. Router is on my first floor and signal is "good" 45 ft away through a couple of walls. Goog replacement from my linksys card. You cant beat 7.99!

No XP64 drivers
Comment:
Third party drivers may be available, but difficult to find. Netgear claims a 64bit driver is not cost effective. I will never buy a Netgear product after reading that claim. Really had my hopes up too...

Great Purchase
Comment:
I needed a wireless card because i was moving my desktop to a room without a coax jack. I figured it would be better to go wireless so I bought the wg311. It arrived one day ahead of schedule and bing, bam, boom. It was installed and running in 15 minutes. I had already installed the driver software from the website so all I needed to do was plug and play. I am running vista ultimate 32bit.

Great Product for the Price
Comment:
I have only purchased recertified once prior to this purchase and must say that I have NOT been disappointed. The first item was Netgear USB WG111v3 and it worked great, AND this internal WG311 works great too! It's easy to install and setup. I have not had any connectivity problems with it. It's an EXCELLENT value. I highly recommend it.

Great deal
Comment:
With these going for $40+ locally, this adapter is an excellent deal. The driver for XP was easy to find online, and I had it up and running within minutes of installation. It also seems as if Vista includes a driver for it.
