Operates truly nicely. Directions are extensive and leave absolutely nothing out. You can orient the cooler to face across or up/down on the motherboard. The 'push' fan overhangs the memory slot nearest the processor on my EVGA P55 SLI motherboard, so if you are using all 4 slots, you must acquire memory that doesn't have heatsinks that stick up substantially beyond the top rated of memory PCB.

Keeps your CPU (and potentially much more) cold I think it looks excellent Excellent value It can\'t maintain your drinks cold This CPU cooler has offered me a lot greater outcomes than the Asetek 550LC Liquid cooling method, even with 2 fans on the radiator. Playing hours upon hours of Crysis and StarCraft my CPU has in no way gone over 31 Celsius. This may work even better if you have a case which has an emphasis on airflow. My pc has 9 additional fans which maintain airflow high. I have my NH-U12P in a vertical configuration which directs the heat out through the two 140mm fans ontop of my case. This also signifies that it helps pull heat off of the back of my video card. And this does not appear to pressure the ability of the radiator in the slightest. If you have sufficient lights in your method the tan and brown color scheme looks fine and the high high quality owl emblem searching out the side of my case actually looks fairly classy.

The fan is really, quite quiet and keeps the temps low. I run somewhat intensive productivity software and the silent mode keeps the temps low adequate without having ever switching to the complete speed mode. somewhat tough to mount the fans.

Cons:Fans have high startup voltage. Sometimes doesn't start at 5V.Even at 5V a little too noisy. One of the included fans have a clicking noiseDid not receive free giftExpensive - I wish they sold it without the fans at a much lower price

Pros:Really good at low fan speeds for silent operationTwo included NF-P12 fansGreat mounting system

Had my doubts that it could beat a TRUE120 with only 4 heatpipes but it does it with ease!

Quite really and moves a lot of air! I have it on a i7 920 d0, oc to 3.8ghz. My idle temps are 25c to 29c and max around 50c. This things does a great job in my cosmos 1000 case. By no means had an issue with overheating even hotter days. Its quite large, so you have to remember once you install it and put your motherboard in your case that there truly isn't that considerably space around it to plug factors in or to screw the motherboard down, but for the extreme cooling you get its worth it, just make certain to take care of all connections and screws ahead of you attach the fans. I have bought 3 of these for 3 diverse computers and had wonderful results with all of them, I will absolutely continue to use Noctua's

Cons:-quiet, but not as quiet as I would like.-HUGE, but stable, might not fit every case though.-120mm fans, might be worth the extra $10 to go for 140mm ver.

Pros:-fairly easy to install on either AMD/Intel-works with LGA 1155 (just sue 1156 slots)-cools my 2500K like a champ, under 50C with stress gaming, never goes above 60 with stress tests.

Strong versatile heatsink with excellent accessoriesI bought a number of of these on sale recently, and upgraded from a Scy1he Mugen2.I have the non-SE installed in my ATCS 840 with two NF-P14 FLX fans on my ASU5 M4A78T-E. My temps with a 3.4ghz PhII 720 are 22C idle, and 33c Linpack load, 28c load below COD4 Fan mounting on the D14 is FAR superiormounting of the heatsink is superior on the D14, but the U12P's is extremely great nonetheless Noctua support is superb. If you purchased a heatsink from them that doesn't assistance LGA1366񳁴, they will send you a kit for cost-free. Mine came all the way from AustriaRecall to check the compatibility list on Noctua's website for particulars. On my machine, the appropriate-side fan covers two of the ram slots (with the P14FLX)

Great heatsink, paired with a Scythe Ultra Kaze 120mm fan pushing 134cfm, brought my idle temps down 10-15c from the stock heatsink/fan. Allowed me to push my Phenom II x4 965 to 4.0ghz stable. Idle temps are 38c, gaming temps by no means go over 49c, and stability tests temps maxed at 58c. The fans that it comes with are nice, not sure how they perform on the heatsink but they feel incredibly sturdy and I'm utilizing one particular to cool my 4890 via challenging drive bay attachment and it dropped my temps a bit. None The heatsink is fairly major, if you have a midtower like I do (Antec 902) you'll probably have to remove any side fan you have, I know I had to. Also, the way this mounts some mobos will have the fans pointing upward, so if you don't have an exhaust fan on leading of your case you'd just be blowing air no where.

This is an amazing cooler, keeps my phenom II x4 965 be @ four.2 beneath 45, idles in the mid 20s, and although internet browsing it sits in the low 30s, a amazing aftermarket cpu cooler. Its massive, but need to have no problem fitting in a mid tower case, just make confident your rams heat spreaders aren't too tall, it blocks two ram slots on my board and i have corsair vengeance ram with enormous heat spreaders, luckily i only want the 8 gb i have. It also only mounts 1 way on an amd board and you can't have it exhausting out the back of the case, but absolutely nothing to me worth docking an egg for as its an awesome performer. Got it as a combo deal when the 965 was on sale, and i'm quite happy with this cooler, would reccomend to everyone.

1. Extremely quiet!!!!!! my HDD's make additional noise!two. Works with my Corsair Dominator memory and Asus P7P55D Mobo!three. Fantastic cooler. Properly constructed. Effortless to install !!!!I couldn't be more content with this. The stock fan was ok for light useage but under heavy loads it would go past 70C :( . I was looking for a cooling resolution that was quiet, and would fit with my Asus P7P55D Mobo and my Corsair Dominator memory with these high heat spreaders. THIS IS THE Remedy. The install was effortless and you can go to their website http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=faqs&stepɤ&lng=en&products_id៳ for install suggestions. They have wonderful photos on installation issues, and how to deal with memory with high heat spreaders (Corsair Dominator). Make sure that you have a large sufficient case although. If you adjust the intake fan up 1ǘ inch to accomodate the memory, you will need that considerably added width in your case for the complete factor to clear. The Antec 1200 works perfectly! None except for the value.

- Cools Quite well. My i5-760 topped out at 51 deg. C running Prime95 on stock settings.- Great mounting hardware- Easy to install- Included thermal compound is incredibly excellent- Two fans integrated - A small on the heavy side, but the mounting hardware leaves me with no worries.- Attaching the fans can be a little annoying. You'd believe that by now there'd be a far better way to do this than clips.- The clips caused the extremely top and bottom fins of my HSF to bend ever so slightly. I am 99% sure that this will not trigger any type of problems, but I assume it's worth mentioning. I kind of wish it had LED's, but this would be no means "make or break" the sale. It's an amazing cooler and I advise it.

Talk about efficiency! At idle it keeps my i7 2.66 at a chilly 40C. I can barely hear the factor by means of my thin-skinned case. The most noise I'm hearing is my 5 60mm's pushing and pulling air. I crank 100% on utilizing BOINC, the sink just shrugs and says, "did an individual turn up the heat?" and revs the 120mm fan just a bit greater, holding temps just below 65C. And this is just 1 fan hooked into it, the other is still in the box!Excellent selection of options on how to configure the fans and sink. Clear and well laid out instructions. It's TALL and WIDE! An 8" inch deep complete tower, barely 1ǘ-3ǚ" clearance from the top rated to the cover. There is no breathing space if your case is any shallower than an ANTEC complete tower.Incredibly Heavy, bloody make confident it is secure. Use Loctite on the base plate and HSF connectors if you feel you are going to encounter vibration issues. Don't chirp about the beige color of the fan. A great airbrush or paint brush can take care of the frame, the blades will fend for themselves. I do not advise painting them or you'll suffer from vibration. This is not a showcase sink, this is the pickup truck of the HSF market place. Developed to perform difficult.PeriodI never ever heard of this certain firm till I started shopping for upgrades a year ago. After reading the evaluations, I decided to dive in and get me one. So far, I'm 1 happy camper.

Cons:Huge even compared to the Hyper 212 Plus though I think its a cm shorter than the 212 and the bottom of the fins on this cooler is a little higher than the 212 for more clearance with ram sinks.

Pros:Great performance. Low noise level. One of the best backplate/mounting brakcets I have seen. High quality air cooling setup.
Comment:
I bought this becuase I was not totally satisfied with the design and performance of the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus. After hours of research I decided on this model. Though the cost for this model is twice that of the Hyper 212 my expectations were exceeded. I would rate the overall design and quality of this air cooler as superior. I haven't seen a CPU temp over 68°F. Thats at full load with a motherboard temp of 75°F and a room temp of 75°F+. Last year I could heat my office with nothing but my plasma and PC even when snow fell outside. This year I have to use a space heater to heat my office and I am 400mi further south where it only snows once every 20 years or so. If anyone has a problem with the functionality of this product I would blame it on user error. My i5 2500k is overclocked to 4.65Ghz.

This cooler is very good. As many other people have noted, it is nicely created, instructions are clear and every thing you require is in the box, including thermal paste and a screwdriver. I noticed a 12c reduction in cpu temp @ idle. I have this installed on i7 950/ sabertooth mobo, Antec 3 Hundred case. (Due to my mobo I can't use all 6 memory slots with this cooler unless I did surgery on the cooler or took off the heat sink from the memory.) None This runs so quietly that I opened the case even though running to see if the Noctua fans had been spinning, (they had been) Quite Quiet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does a decent job cooling. Includes all mounting hardware you may possibly need, even a screwdriver. Shocked to uncover that the Noctua thermal paste outperformed Arctic Silver five (see "Other thoughts" below). Not the prettiest. OCed my i7-920 to 3.6GHZ with temps at around low to mid 40s low idle and in 50s at high. Not negative but I was hoping for lower temps. I attempted to use Arctic Silver five following the directions (single line down center of CPU) on their web page, but temps too high. I tried Arctic Silver once again making use of the directions (one drop in center) included with the Noctua, but temps still too high. I then tried the Noctua thermal paste included with the kit, following their directions, and lastly had excellent results.

this got my old i5-750 on a gigabyte p55 ud3 to 4GHz useing a 200 BCK with the max 20x CPU multiplier (turbo off), and a 6x memory multiplier because my ram is cheap and is only speced for 1333, not 1600. idles at 23c, my current room temperature, and ~60c at full load on prime95 while still being almost silent.i got this pricematched for $61.90 CND, so i recommend looking around to see if you can get a pricematch. at the full retail of $80 though, its a bit on the expensive side, though it comes with essentially $40 worth of fans and some the best thermal paste money can buy.its actually smaller then i thought it would be, but it still would be a good idea to check if it will fit in your case before buying.

In previous builds I've used the Noctua NH-U12F and have been very pleased with their performance. In my most recent build I've upgraded to the NH-U12P SE2. Once again I am happy with my decision. The U12P SE2 is solidly built and very quiet. My only concern was if it would fit into my case. It's a huge heatsink being 158 mm in height and suggest to any who are thinking of purchasing it to ensure that it will fit into their case.

I am quite impressed with Noctua. This cooler is made really properly. It has high high quality metal fins, fans, and the fan power cables are enclosed in a sticky housing. It was a breeze to install. I have installed some Zalman coolers and this was quite straightforward to install and looks great. It is also extremely quiet and delivers superb performance. It has no 4-pin connector so you can't use PVM. It's okay though simply because I'm working with the common connector (not the low noise one) and I can't even hear it. My Radeon 5870 is louder than it so it makes no distinction. It's also expensive but it's still worth it. You get a good fat case badge with it. Even this badge is built incredibly well.

Was a bit annoyed that I had to eliminate my MB for the install (this cooler calls for a backing plate installed on the back of the MB) but overall, it was worth it. I am extremely happy with this unit. I am relieved that it lives up to its reputation. Uncomplicated to install with Wonderful documentation. Fan cables are nicely dressed and every thing that was needed is included. Thank you to other reviewers for their input here at newegg. Enjoy the newegg! The surface is not mirror finish - rather rough really. If this unit did not have the reputation it already has as a fantastic cooler, I would have been upset. I believe the entire do-it-your self community would rejoice if Noctua would make the fans black or any other color. I utilised IC7 for the compound and the unit preserve my 2600K CPU at 1 degree more than ambient when idle. At load even though playing very demanding games it keeps the cores at between 31-33 minimum and 44-49 degrees C maximum. That's about as significantly strain that I anticipate to put on the Pc. I am not calculating Pi to the millionth digit so a full stress load is irrelevant IMHO.

Installed those in my cosair 500R case and it's almost too easy.Cooling is excellent, my i5 2500k (OC'ed to 4.3ghz) stays at 23-26C idle (room temerature is around 17-20C) and never break 45C when loaded (eg, playing bf3/ACII revealations/WoW) I have not tested those on prime yet but judgeing from the results of my personal experience, I am very satisfied. Please use the DOT method to apply thermal compound as it is probably the best way for quad core processors at this moment.PS. For those who have problems getting ideal temperatures, try to check your Fan directions first, the LOGO SIDE of both fans MUST face towards the same direction (rear or top, depends on your case), THEN check your thermal compound.
