Awesome cooler to replace my stock one. Well worth the price when bundled with my i2500k, with little noise. I don't mind the color, but some people dislike brown and tan.

Comment:
Particularly high top quality. Built like a tank. Great accessories. Strong mounting method. As usual, heatsink organizations spend much more time designing heatsinks for intel and dont appear to care that much about amd. I bought this for an AM3 cpu in a Haf 932 case. For amd the only way you can mount this thing is so it blows air out the best of this case. This did not function for me since it fully messed up the airflow in my case causing other components to not get significantly air, and it also blocks part of my northbridge's heatsink so the nb runs at 60C continually. Why the heck cant I mount it the other direction like intel?

Cons:Fans must be controlled using voltage

Pros:Very nice design, great cooling, good price for what you get
Comment:
Bought to use with my 2500k to replace the stock cooler. While a bit louder than the stock one, provides much better cooling and you have the ability to lower it down from the 1400rpm so that would make the noise less noticeable. Would be nice if they did not have to be controller by voltage though, ie using my msi control centre program to actively change fanspeed like I was able to with the stock fan.

Cons:tricky to add to already assembled PC (had to remove the motherboard)

Pros:quite, excellent cooling 10 times better than standard Intel heatsink, very good instructions
Comment:
It was easy to install, had everything in quickly (even though I had to remove the motherboard)when started the computer I got warning beeping on my DFI mbo, had to clear the CMOS data to make it work.It sure is worth every single penny you spend on it.

Cons:Large and takes up alot of room.

Pros:Works well, looks cool, nice and quiet.

Used this for a year with my AMD 965BE. I worked much better than the stock cooler it came with and took the idle temp from 41 degrees to about 34. It works quietly and comes with a lot of accessories like low speed wire adapters. The unit looks cool, but it ultimately was replaced by a Corsair H50 cooler because this thing was just too big. I would sometimes have to unmount it to remove memory modules.I put it in my linux box cooling a AMD X2 250 so it's good overkill. Because I barely do any tinkering with that machine it's fine in there.I would buy it again on sale, but feel the MSRP is too high. Would recomend in a case with a lot of space to work with and that one would not take apart/upgrade much.

Cons:Very large; make sure you have the clearance in your case to handle this cooler.

Pros:Super quiet, performs significantly better than the stock cooler.
Comment:
A high performing air-based heatpipe cooler. Has two low RPM 120mm fans that perform extremely well. Setup was easy due to a very simple instruction manual. Would recommend to anyone looking for an air-based HSF combo.

Cons: Never liked the color of the fans . It is a little heavy.

Pros: Quiet , cools well, well built.
Comment:
I got this as a package with 2500K . With both fans at 1300 rpm it is silent . It looked like it would be a hassle to install but it was quite easy and compatible with all sorts of boards . This is my first tower style heatsink and it was perfect for me. My antec P160 case is restricting airflow a pinch and it still cools very well. Good product.

Cons:Only the size and price, but it's to be expected considering the quality and performance.Barely cleared components.

Pros:Cools well.Very well built.Easy install.
Comment:
This thing is HUGE. Sitting it next to the stock cooler is almost a joke.Very well packaged, very well built, the contact area is very smooth, and instructions are clear and concise, the parts are easy to manage and install, and cooling performance is pretty good. Installation was very easy to follow, and all parts are built quite well.I installed this on my newly obtained Gigabyte P67A-UD5-B3/Intel 2600k combo with G.Skill Ripjaw ram. The fan BARELY cleared the ram. in fact, i had to have the intake fan slightly higher than i would've preferred to get it to clear. If i had a third stick or ram, i would've had to raise it even further. BUT, all worked out. It more than clears the heatsinks on my motherboard.I have my 2600k sitting at 4.0 ghz, and RealTemp say the highest any core has been to is only 59c under load for 20 minutes, so I'm pleased. And that's without thermal paste break-in time and using the Low-Noise adapters on both fans. Ambient is around 19c. I'm sure i'll push it further once i remove the low-voltage cables and give the paste time to cure.It fits without issue in my case, but it's a HAF-922 - a very wide case. The fans attach quite easily and i actually prefer the brackets to using screws. Already having a tube of AC5, i was a little skeptical about the thermal paste that was included. But after looking up some benchmarks, kt seems to be about par with AC5, if not slightly better, so i used it. I actually prefer the Noctua paste for ease of spreading. It's a little thicker, and not so super-sticky. The backing from the fan strips worked well as and applicator. And I got it price-matched, which is always a bonus. Shipping was quick - only took 3 days from Vancouver to Fort McMurray.NCIX comes through, as always. This review was modfied by poster @ 04-24-11 02:23 PM

Cons:Because of its size can be difficult to install in small ormid-sized cases

Pros:Quality cooler, well packaged together with instructionsand parts needed, has two fans that are quiet
Comment:
I bought this cooler knowing that I was going to over-clock a Intel 980X on a rebuild of my system. I hadalready been using a Noctua 120mm. as a case fan for over a year and was impressed with its reliability and lack of noise. Now I have 3 of these fans all in-line directly blowing outthe back of my case which keeps all internal components cool, all done with little noise, which is really cool.(pun intended)The added bonus is this set up keeps my 12gs. of CorsairDominator cool as well as the front fan is close to the sticks of Ram. Even when using all fans with the LN (black) resistor connectors, the temperature of the CPU at 4100mhz.at idle sits at 30c. and at full load 59c. I am now in CPUbliss ! Where this cooler shines is when your CPU is at full working load, which is great for over clocking your CPU. The bonus is the fans will keep your system quiet. Cons:Could use more heat pipesNM-90 bracket needed for AMD to have East-West orientation

Pros:Great heatsink and cooling, high quality stuffComes with 2 great fans that are high CFM/low noise
Comment:
Wish the NM-90 bracket would be included to allow for east-west orientation. Otherwise, if you have a bottom mount PSU and top case fan, works just as great.Easily lowers stock temps by 10C, does it quietly and efficiently.Check the Noctua website for board compatibility with motherboard and memory intrusion. No issues for me with M4A89GTD Pro.Definitely worth it considering comes with 2 great Noctua fans.D14 has marginal improvements, so no complaints over just having the six heatpipes, would be nice to have more.

Pros:Solid, cools like a champ, basically silent
Comment:
I am SO glad I got this thing. First thing I noticed was how sturdy it was. Box weighed a ton. Every part you could ever need and all separated and labled for Intel/AMD. Sounds trivial but I've had a few that were somewhat confusing. The thing bolts down with no fuss, no worries and cools like a champ. Best I've had.

I had to send back some RAM because it didn't fit, make sure you check the supported list! Other than that, it's nice they include all the stuff you need so you can just get the install done - my first time on a custom build and it was quite easy.

- Replaced my i7 920's stock cooler with this and dropped the temperature under full load by about 25C. I used to get to about 85C under full load (in a HAF 932 too!), this cooler brought it down to about 55/60C. I do not overclock.

Comment:
I am very excited to buy this Noctua NH-U12P SE2 heatpipe cooler to be use with the I7-930 D0 cpu after reading all the positive reviews and comparisons on the web. Even though, I am not planning to overclock, I just want to keep the cpu as cool as possible. I soon found out to be disappointed as I am not getting the same result as most of the reviewers are claiming Running the cpu at stock speed, manual set cpu voltage to 1.10v and everything else at BARE minimal. I even have the side of the case open. Using Artic Silver 5 does improve temperature 1-2 degree less but still idle temperature is 38-42 degree at stock speed according to CoreTemp0.99.7. With stock cooling idle temp is around 42-44 degree so investing in this very expensive cooler for a very minimal improvement is a big mistake in my part. Either my method of installation is not correct as I read and followed from front to back of the installation manual. Removed and reinstalled the cooler a few times with different method, TIM but not much improvement. Maybe this cooler will perform better as temperature getting higher. If you are not planning to overclock don’t waste your money on this cooler. Don’t use automatic setting; just lower your cpu voltage until your system is stable. Keep other setting to standard or minimum and leave it at that. I found this method will help keep the temperature down too.I have to admit Noctua quality and packaging is top notch although my experience with the product is different than others. Perhaps there is nothing wrong with my temperature or my expectation is unrealistic.I have to admit Noctua quality and packaging is top notch although my experience is different than others.

Cons:Very tall cooler

Pros:Very quiet fans, cleareance over northbridge and ram slots, fan clips easy to use, dual fans
Comment:
Picked this up on weekend sale at the store - upgrading from the 92mm cooler from Noctua - temps dropped a couple of deg at idle, almost 10 deg at load. Gave me more cleareance on the northbridge and the ram slots on the Gigabyte P55A-U4DP. Love the push-pull design, lots of room in the HAF 922 for this cooler.
