Very properly produced heat sink and fan. The excellent of the Noctua NH-U12P is the best I have ever encountered. The parts all fit together flawlessly. It took me 20 minutes start off to finish quite easy to install. Installed on a 2600K keeps the temperatures at 20 C idle and never ever goes more than 50 C. none Good product. Will purchase from Noctua once again

Employed 1 fan. Fit fine in my Lancool PC-K62 (don't think 2 fans would have worked given my huge RAM - Corsair Dominator CMD4GX3M2A1600C8). My CPU on idle is generally about 26C and have not noticed it above 40 on Crysis. Possibly more cooling than I needed, but why not maintain the processor cool... ought to prolong its life. none newegg rocks!

Pros:-Quiet-keep cpu pretty cool even under loard- 6 years warranty

This HS is a must for anyone using air cooling and wants a silent PC. It may be an expensive heatsink, but with 6 years warranty and great cooling performance, you can't go wrong.

Keeps my Phenom II X6 processor operating good and cool. It’s large, 鲸mm X 120mm X 158mm) and quiet. For AMD AM3 sockets it installs on the original backplate without having to take away the motherboard, a large plus in my book. If you have an Intel chip you will not be so lucky. If there is any doubt about compatibility the producers web site provides a list of motherboards it is compatible with. For AMD motherboards it mounts 90 degrees from the pictured Intel installation, blows air from the bottom to the best rather of front to back. It’s 158mm tall and I had to place my side fan on the outside of the case to clear this beast.Fans are hard to install. Will interfere with tall memory chips, My Munchkin 1600 chips had 6mm of clearance. Putting the fans on can be complicated but gets easier immediately after the very first fan, the trick is to get the finish of the clip into the bottom fan mounting hole and angle the clip until it catches the corner of the slot in the heat sink, pull it up and fasten the top.

Have not tried overclocking yet, but expect it to be better than the NH-C12P SE14 that I have installed on my other machine that has an ASUS X58 plus i7 930.New build: ASUS P8Z68-V Pro, i7 2600k, Noctua U12P-SE2, 8 GB Corsair Vengeance CL8 DDR3 1600, Intel 320 SSD 160 GB system, 2 x 1 TB WD Blue HDDs in Raid 1 Data, Creative Sound blaster X-Fi titanium, 2 x Noctua NF-P12 120mm front fans, Enermax Modu87+ 800W PSU, Antec Solo II case.

Cons:-Regular price (but you still get what you paid for thanks to the long warranty)-The colour of excrement; but I do not mind, it looks unique-Huge (make sure it fits in your case)

Pros:-6 year warranty (a big plus)-Fully accessorized (even includes a screwdriver)-Solid looking
Comment:
I bought this heatsink from a sale for a future custom PC build. Thanks to it's LONG 6 year warranty, I have no problem for the wait. The warranty itself is part of the price, so you get what you pay for.I can't say much about the cooling capability of the unit, but it should be very good. Comes with everything you need for installation: quality fans, heatsink itself, thermal paste and even a screwdriver. Also comes with noise adapters and a case badge to show off.

I really like Noctua fans. They move air, they are very queit and they're developed to keep away from high pitch frequencies. When they spin, you hear a low woosh which is incredibly tolerable. The CPU cooler is very successful. I can run the fans at 50% and preserve my CPU at 30C. It's not so tall that it causes any complications in my full tower case. I like that it has vertical fans, that way I can direct the exhaust heat to my outgoing fans. None Some people don't like the color. I believe it's unique and the earth tones are pleasant. It's a classy look that sets them apart.

Super uncomplicated to install, great mounting hardware. Cam be oriented in any direction. Incredibly quiet. Excellent cooling, I7 860 idling under 30C at stock clock. Two Noctua NF-P12 fans included, so the cost is extremely reasonable (got it for ๐). Can mount a fan at an offset to accomodate taller RAM - I needed no such adjustment for Asus P755D and G.Skill Ripjaws. None, truly. Effectively, NewEgg could have lowered the cost. It is rather large, but nonetheless thinner than other best heat sinks - less interference with memory. 1 fan suffices, so 1 can use the other fan elsewhere. For I7 860, this Noctua may possibly be an overkill. 1 could spent much less and get Hyper 212. To me, forking out further ฮ and have a quiet method was not unreasonable.

This fan was the answer to an overheating nightmare. Working with a Phenom II 940 at the stock 3.0ghz, the stock cooler was not adequate. Truth be told, I have a difficult situation for my box; it's tiny, and it's in a cramped region. There are 3 hdd and only two tiny case fans.I went with a Zalman 90mm fan that had a 5 egg review. This nonetheless would not work for me. I was idling at 45c and below load at 63c which is at or above the maximum for this chip. So, I went with this Noctua. Now I'm idling at 36c and 100% load never ever gets above 43c at the stock three.0ghz. Large Difference! Installation is possibly the most complicated of any fan I've ever used. Of course the mobo has to be removed to install a back plate. On top of that, the mounting can be complex as there are diverse mounting brackets depending upon fan orientation. On top of that, the retaining clips though working fine, took some time to examine in order to install appropriately. Be warned, installing this fan on a completed technique is fairly a chore. If you're developing a new method from scratch, it isn't so bad. This is the best cooler I've ever utilized. The box is in an virtually impossible scenario for cooling but this fan pulls through. I will only purchase Noctua from now on.

i7 960 @ three.86 GHz clock - 鳚.62x25)My motherboard automatically throttles the fans. At idle, with the fans as low as achievable, my temperatures average at 41C.With Prime95 torture test running, my typical is right on 62C.That is *unbelievably* good cooling. If my fans had been running full at idle I wouldn't be surprised to see this thing get down to 30C. This is also with Arctic Silver five, and apparently their thermal poop is even superior! None whatsoever.

Beautifully quiet and keeps my CPU at an almost absurdly low temp.Hardware is clearly high top quality and except for fan brackets (see below) is easy to use, especially mounting technique. Brackets to attach fans are a discomfort, specially compared to the rest of the mounting and assembly, which is dead uncomplicated. Take Noctua's assistance and use just a dab of their quite very good thermal compound. It worked excellent for me. You can generally add a bit far more if you want to.

Excellent cooler. Silent fans. The brackets that bind the fans are tough to install. You require a case at least 191mm wide to fit this. Mine was 187mm. The recommendations of the heat pipes would avoid to close the case. I believed I would just cut them off. Nevertheless this is a bad concept: heat pipes are not just bars of copper. They are hollow and contain a fluid that evoporates with the processor heat and condensates on the other side, and then is brought back by capillarity, thereby transporting the heat. The heatsink stopped working immediately after I cutoff the suggestions.

It was a uncomplicated install, following the instructions. It took me a couple minutes to figure out how to get the fan clips on, but it wasn't a huge dead, and it's a wonderful style overall. None!! This is an excellent for those who have room for it in their case. I have an Antec 1200 and i have about a inch or so of clearance. keeps my phenom IIx4 955 be in the low 40's under heavy pressure.

Runs quiet, even without the quiet adaptors for fans. Decreased CPU temp 15 degrees C when idle and 18 with heavy load. Totally Wonderful UPGRADE FROM STOCK HEATSINK/FAN! Bit of a discomfort to install. Removing all the components of motherboard to reach back of motherboard for mount placement was a lot of work. Was mostly concerned with having to move components, I don't like getting to move/remove them if I don't have to. Keep in mind how you want your airflow to be at finish-result. WAIT TO ATTACH FANS UNLESS YOU Feel YOU CAN REACH MOUNTING SCREWS Right after HEATSINK IS SITTING ON CPU + THERMAL COMPOUND.

I got this as a bundle deal with Intel i5 2500K for total of $220. This is one of the best air-coolers on the market. It is massive, but luckily my case (CM 690 II advan) has plenty of space for this puppy. Because of its size, it blocks some of port on the motherboard which can be annoyed.

Outstanding fit and finish, straightforward installation, comes nicely packaged with all the parts nicely sorted and bagged by install application. Comes with high top quality thermal grease, fans are high top quality and extremely quiet. Fan retaining clips are sort of challenging to function with. Couldn't be happier. Keeps my i7-930 at acceptable temps at 4.2Ghz. Attach the fans following you install the heat sink on the CPU otherwise you won't be able to effortlessly reach the tightening screws. A pair of needle nose pliers comes in handy for the fan retaining clips.

Cons:Its big.

Pros:It looks cool spinning all the time.
Comment:
I can see this thing through my computer case side panel window. It looks nice just spinning all day.I can hear my case fans(the ones on the corsair white 600t) over it even on the lowest speed for them. I haven't overclocked or anything, but its nice to know my CPU is just running cooler. As for ram clearance, it can clear 40-42mm high ram sticks if you move one of the heatsink's fan a few notches up along the pins. So you can effectively populate all the ram slots on your motherboard if you wanted to.I got the NH-U12P SE2 for an awesome price in a bundle with an i5-2500K. It was $220 for both during a weekly sale when the new z68 motherboards came out.
