Best upgrade I have ever done to a laptop. System is faster and more responsive since installing this drive. My Thinkpad is like a new machine again, but on steroids:D Definately a recommended upgrade for anyone/everyone. The MIR arrived in about 6 weeks so no complaints there either.Just ordered a 120GB unit for my desktop. Once you've gone SSD, there's no going back! |

Dont know if everyone got this, but my brother and I both got one of these, both right after each other, and in speedfan, or SIW, there is no proper temperature reading (0C speedfan, 1C SIW).

Picked up this and a copy of W7 Pro, boots nice and fast. Needed a replacement for a drive that completely died on me bout a week ago. It is much smaller than the old drive (virtually and physically), but all I really wanted on it was my OS since I have a 1TB drive also installed with all my games/movies. Windows experience index seems to be fidgety with HDDs/SSDs, my bro got a rating of 7.7 for his, though mine was only 6.9. I moved the drive to another computer and booted it, got a rating of 7.4... Then the comp BSoD'd for some reason. Everything works great (when its back in my good computer), definitely recommend this SSD. |

I think this ssd is great. it makes win 7 boot quick and all programs on it are quick to load. I do wish I held out a little longer before buying an ssd, I can't really appreciate the speed since there was barely anything on my old HDD. But from what I've experienced its awesome and great! |

A SSD is definitely the best bang for your buck to boost the performance of a PC. Windows and applications/games loading time is cut dramatically.I brought my PC to a friend's house who has a RAID0 controller with 2 15000RPM drives (a 600$ kind of setup). We loaded the same game in exactly the same time with this 110$ SSD. Let's say he was impressed with the overall performance of my PC, given I had less powerful hardware in general.Get a spare HD, you will never have enought space on this 60Go for anything once Win7-64 is installed, other than a single game maybe. |

Consistently getting 280+ mb/s reads, and 200mb/s writes. Very fast drive! I replaced 3xsataII RAID0 7200rpm drives with this drive and I'm seeing roughly twice the performance, so I'm happy!Some reccomendations though: Set up a separate drive for your swap file, user folders, etc to preserve SSD Life. Look around ont he web for tweaking guides to maximize the value of this drive - It's worth it. (I'm using a RAID0 array for my swap file/fodlers/etc to increase performance for non SSD-installed apps) |

Overall system responsiveness was very noticeable at first, but as you get used to it I think there's a danger of losing appreciation for it.Still somewhat pricey, but coming down in price. Not very viable as your only drive but if you can afford an ssd+spinning disk, that's the way to go. Conventional hard drives keep getting bigger and bigger but can only get so cheap, so an ssd+$50 for a decently large spinning disk is always a good option. |

I will have to be brutally honest - while there is a very small improvement in loading times (with regards to Windows and programs), it is barely noticable. I swapped a WD Caviar Black 640 to this (the Black is now the storage drive) and the speed increase, while there, didn't exactly blow me away. The good news is that these drives are dropping in price like crazy so they're getting more mainsteram. |

I have about 30g left after OS installation + my software. |

I just want everyone to know that this drive is fantastic. Want to know why those reviewers above couldn't get higher read/write speeds? They are not running it on a SATA II enabled controller. SATA I will max at 150 MB/s. And if your drive REALLY makes loud noise, you need to simply call OCZ and RMA it. I had the same benchmark ceiling when using this drive in my Thinkpad T61 (SATA II capable, but disabled by the manufacturer). Put the same drive in my Phenom II desktop and benchmarks are well above 250 MB/s. |

At this point after experiencing the speed benefits of an SSD, I will never go back to a mechanical hard drive for my OS drive. I can load up how many ever progams I need and they'll all start and be ready to use before I put down my cup of coffee. |

I installed one of these recently as a system drive in a new computer. I must say this hard drive lets the computer boot up and shut down very fast. The benchmarks for reading/writing were not spectacular compared to my 2x640GB Caviar Black Raid 0 setup, but the access times definitely blow that away.I was uncertain if some of the Win7 BSODs and issues I had with it were caused by running this SSD with AHCI. I did a lot of digging around and got conflicting reports about the use of AHCI on an OCZ SSD. One said don't use it, it can cause errors and provides no benefit while another said make sure you have it on. In the end, a lot of the issues may have been caused by the ram in the system, but I'll never know. |

So for those of you who are gaving problems with slow speeds, make sure its connected to the right SATA port. Some SATA ports on different motherboards are different with slower speeds. Initially i installed this drive without AHCI enabled in BIOS and was connected to my RED sata port on my EVGA x58 3way sli mobo. Now, the red SATA port is slower then the black, so make sure to use the black port from the very beginning of installation, otherwise it wouldnt work. Also dont forget to disconnect all of your other HDDs when installing ur OS as the drive will be faster this way. |

This is a great drive! The difference is incredible, no more waiting for the desktop to "load" or anything. My welcome screen only shows for half a second and the instant the desktop shows up, I can click firefox and it opens 1 second later! Great drive. I bought it at $123. Then I saw it on sale for 113. But meh. Still quite expensive for 60gb, but windows goes nuts when booting up or shutting down. Could use a little more discount though. Overall, I really like this drive, but it hurts when I look at my Visa bill.
