I have a Sansa e260 just like this. I to experienced freezing of the player. It's very important if you buy one of these to go to sandisk's website and download and install the latest firmware to your player. I did it one time and I never again had another freezing up problem.

I love the sansa product line. I had one and love it. My daughter wanted one, so I thought I would save a couple bucks and get her a refurb. That was a mistake. It freezes up constantly, for 10 minutes at a time and takes alot of work to unfreeze it. By the time I tried all the things tech support wanted me to do first, the warranty expired and they would no longer help me with it, let alone replace it. I ended up giving mine to my daughter, because that was easier than trying to explain to a nine year old why warranties and greedy retailers are BS. Im glad some of the reviewers got ones that work, but I advise you to buy a new one. The Sansa line is awesome, way better than Ipod or Zune, but get a retail one where the retailer will take care of you if its a brick and needs replacement.

I bought my e250(the 2GB model) a few months ago and listen to it at work, in the car and at home cleaning everyday. I like so much I am now ordering another one. Please do not listen to the negative comments about this MP3, all problems mention are easily fixed and well worth the little bit of effort. The blue light only lighting up, is fixed by holding the power button down for about 10 seconds, then turning it on again. This is also listed in the manual that is available on the SanDisk website for free along with other software to convert pictures and such. Awesome deal and an awesome player!!!!!

Top notch unit. Buy RiverPast Crazy Video software to burn ANYTHING to this thing fast, simple and with great compression performance. Built-in audio recording quality, though not a big feature, is MUCH better than all other mp3 units I've tried. I can watch a whole season of South Park flying coast to coast while my row mates look on with envy!

As a non-techie., I found this to be easy to set up and use. The manual was a bit confusing, since I didn't know what I was working with, however, with some logic, I was able to set up and use. I have only used the music and radio features and have had absolutely no problems. i would definitely recommend

After much messing around with the Sandisk features, menues, & downloading the the Sandisk operating system upgrade and tweaking the settings on Windows Media Player 11 I was able to get the unit to perform wonderfully. If you are not a ''techy'' this unit is not for you but it does perform well if you can get past all the hassles.

This player is not worth your time or headache. Why do you think TigerDirect is selling it as such a deep discount. I bought mine and had it for one month before it just stopped working. It just froze and wouldn't turn on anymore. When pressing the power button, the only thing that would come on would be the blue ring at the bottom. I wasn't even using but half of the memory on the player. The radio function is horrible. They should have put an antenna on it as well. The video player had major lag between the video and the audio of at least 10 seconds. With this piece of equipment, you get what you pay for. So, if you buy this, you shouldn't expect much out of it. When it comes to mp3 players, do not get Sandisk. Put your money on a brand you can trust, like Apple.

great value. would never tell it's refurb - looks brand new, sound is not bad at all, although don't like the EQ; don't like the file management that goes by artist/album/etc. - would much rather prefer simple folders with names and files in them.. but overall - can't beat the value, recommend.

I got a couple of these for my kids(13 and 16 both boys) since their mom pawned their 30gig iPods. When they arrived I wanted one, too. I hate my 30gig iPod. The controls are so illogicalon the iPod. The Sansa controls look and feel great. I waited till the price came down another 10 bucks. Then I ordered mine. There have been no big issues. One of the kids called me about his, asking if there was a warranty. I asked what was the problem and he said 'the wheel is stuck'. I said did you check if the 'hold' button might have gotten switched. Yep that was it, and no probs.

To Reviewed Jun 20, 2008 about the volume, it's not the headphones, for some reason these mp players max out their sound at a very undesirealbe level, i.e.: not loud enough.

I have had my Sansa for over a year and I love it. I use mine with Yahoo! Music to go and I can listen to any music I want (for a flat fee) and change frequently. As for the review with the ''low'' volume... check your settings menu and I believe there is a loud and soft setting if I remember correctly.

I purchased a refurbished Sansa for my wife in November of 2007. It was less expensive and had more features than other fruit company models. I was hesitant about the ''refurbished'' status but it's been going strong through seven months of use. It's easy to use, especially and solidly constructed. The included earbuds are only adequate at the most but very players offer top of the line earbuds out of the box. Yes, you have to download the manual but the latest drivers are online anyway, just snag them both. A note on sound quality. My wife is an Audiologist and knows more about sound than a majority of so-called ''audiophiles''. She rates the MP3/MP4 playback excellent and the FM radio average. Paired with high quality audio files and nicer earbuds/headphones; you're set. The voice recording feature is limited but she's found it useful for memos. We like it enough that I'm buying a second so I don't borrow hers. The combination of price, quality and features makes it a great choice.

I just bought one of these 'refurbished' units and am thrilled by it!. It's my first MP3 player and I find the value (great price for what you get), features (more than I need but very useful), quality (beautiful finish and great display) and performance (excellent sound) to be fantastic. You can't go wrong with this one. Don't forget to download the manual either from the bottom of this ad or the Sansa site. They also offer a free download converter for photo's and video's. I don't regret this purchase at all. Amazing little machine.

Not a cheap piece of plastic that will blow off your table top when someone walks by. With it's metal case, it has some heft. I'm an electrical engineer with a tin ear. So, for me 92 KB, 128KB and 256KB all sound about the same. All in all, I'm very pleased with it. Would be helpful if Tiger had links to online manual, video software, etc.

This is definately the most bang for your buck. I got mine around Chistmas and I gave 10 bucks more for it. I did buy some accessories for it from ebay. I got a plastic case and USB plug in charger and car charger all in one deal for $20. The Sansa did arrive with the box bang up but the mechandise was fine. The player is solid. If you use Media Monkey you can tag all your MP3's with album art tags. I was a stickler for this, but the album art is so small you really can't make out that much detail. This thing is solid sounds good and the mirco memory works nice but when you power it up with the extra memory installed. It will take longer to power up. You get a message 'refresh database'. But after that it accesses the memory card flawlessly. So buy this, get some good headphones and go on ebay and buy those accessories. You'll be set. Works great in my car with the cassette adapter.

I ordered this player because of the price, figured, what the heck. I could not be more pleased. Pros: Simple to use. Just hook it to your computer to charge the battery or download files. Battery lasts a decent amount of time. Sounds great. Cons: Being refurbished it did not come with any paperwork (user manual, registration card, etc). I had to download the manual from the Sansa website, which is also a bit difficult to find you way around. Overall, I am glad I puchased this rather than spend much more to puchase an IPOD!

I bought this model so I could use it in the car (with the Belkin link). Even in the DC area, I found a free space on the radio and the player works great through my car stereo. What I really like, and others have mentioned, is the ability to insert a flash card. Rather than having music on separate lists (like my wife has with her Nano), I have separate cards (which I get when they are on sale someplace) with very different music on each. I also like how quickly it recharges (I can even recharge it in the car with a single cable to the part of the Belkin unit that plugs into the cigarette lighter) and its ability to play video (which, now that I have a grandson, is increasingly important). Now, my wife's nano sits, unused, in her home office and my sansa is used every day. I realize that Apple has brilliantly confused people, getting them to think that their NAND boxes are somehow NOT mp3 players, but they are no different. You just pay more for a lot less.

I've had my Sandisk for a year and a half and couldn't be more pleased. Got it because I wanted FM which none of the i's had at the time (and maybe still don't). Between the gym, band practice, using it in my car, and bicyling I beat the crud out of this thing and I've yet to have one problem with it. Great battery life, good interface & controls, good sound, durable. Now if I could only find a great pair of earphones for less than $100....

I got a brand new e260 back in xmas 2006 but recently lost the sync/charge cable while moving. I use my e260 to record music lessons, pluse we have two vehicles and three kids who are used to random access MP3 songs while driving. The choice was to either buy a new cable for $20 or $60 for a refurb that comes with its own cable.... It looks like the ''fluid metal'' finish is no longer used on the back, the word REFURB is perhaps molded into the case and the jog wheel is lightly textured and moves more freely. Very happy with the product and I'm pretty certain the refurb will work the same as the new one.

I'm a first time MP3 user so was dismayed when the player came without instructions. The manual is right on the Tiger Direct website so no hassle getting it. The Sansa is slick, easy to use (now that I have instructions). I downloaded the firmware updater for the item so all is well. Only other shortcoming of the refurbished player is the lack of lanyard--easy to remedy though. So--for the price, it's a great deal. Glad I bought it.
