Quickly and quiet. When they work, they perform well. I bought two. 1 died inside a month. The replacement died 2 months later. Seagate requirements to boost their QC, or at least supply to spend shipping on RMA's.

let's see, identical hdd mfr i've been making use of for as long as i've been using Pc's (i began off on macs) puts out a 1tb hdd for the price tag of the competitor's 640gb hdd. I've had the exact same old 80gb hdd considering that the P3/P4/celery cpu age and she's still chugging away as a information drive. ummn due to the installation, my friend's computer that I purchased this one fore made him run via a few hoops for him to set up SATA b/c he had not switched over from ATA and the drive didn't do that. seriously although, it was frustrating to install a hdd and have it not "show up" in the "my laptop or computer" region untill about .5-1 hour(s) of fartin about with it win XP has sata problems with drivers and generally it can be annoying to initally set up yer initial/additional hdd's etc. nonetheless the *minor* annoyance was much more than made up for when my friend's storage space improved over ten fold.

None I had two of these drives and both drives failed inside a year. 1 drive failed suitable after the other 1. I sent both drives back to Seagate for expedited warranty replacement 2nd day shipping. It took over a week for me to get the replacement drives. It took 5 days for Seagate to even ship the drives. The warranty on these units is a joke. 1 replacement drive failed inside 30 days. You are greater off obtaining a new drive than waiting on Seagate to send you a replacement drive.

Lots of space; Really rapidly; Runs cool ࿨F av)& Trustworthy.Simple installation & was noticed by W7 x64 correct away in device manager. (you require to initialize it in Disk Management ahead of you'll see the drive in My Computer. ;)Very good price to efficiency ratio. Not a con but it expense $$$.Wish I had purchased 3 rather of just 1...but not enough funds for it. :( I was quite surprised with the efficiency & speed of this drive!鳀mbs-105mbs typical with 66mbs getting minimum)I was just going to use it as a backup drive, but soon after seeing the benchmark outcomes I ended up doing a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade on it & use is now as my all around "go to" drive for the Operating system, gaming & storage!Just love it & I couldn't be happier with it! Note: Since this is a "bare" drive you ought to initialize it in Disk Management in the computer management area of Administrative tools to see & Format it in "My Computer" window... Also, there is no mounting screws that come with the drive but you can quickly obtain them at the HW shop for 9¢ each and every at Ace HW.Challenging drive mounting screws to purchase... • Head: Phillips (Button head)• Size/Thread: 6-32• Length: ¼"

its a 1TB HDD that i got for ็ on sale. Excellent if you need a lot of room. this drive is really slow when it comes to random read and write operations. While im applied to getting my Western Digital raptor it is still significantly slower than the five year old 150gb Seagate i have. but for the price i can not complain. wasnt genuinely impressed but it is what it is.

1 TB for fairly low-cost. I use it in a Media Pc, and it records tv shows properly. As lengthy as it doesn't fail, it should be excellent. Be ready to return the initially drive. It seems like half of the evaluations entails a failed drive. Mine failed inside two weeks of putting in my laptop or computer. Luckily I hadn't put any data on it yet, but it was still a bit of a pain to return, and wait for the new one.

The drive performs extremely well and I've not had any concerns. None. This is the first Seagate that I've bought for my own use in really some time and though it's only been just under a month so far, I'm impressed with the read/write speed of the drive and it surely appears to be solid. Only time can definitely tell on challenging drives, but following getting troubles with an additional brand (it took returning twice to get a excellent drive) on the last construct I did for a family member, this was a refreshing experience.

Lot's of space. When I bought them the 2TB drive had been not on the industry. I picked up 3 of these drives from newegg about 3 years ago. I have them in a RAID5 and two of the drives have failed. My RAID array will rebuild 4-5 times a year mainly because 1 of the drives starts acting up. My computer is on a UPS that will shut it down if it loses energy so this is a drive problem. After a though the RAID will fail and I have to replace the drive through Seagate. Do not put these in a RAID!!! Seagate has distinct RAID drives but they are not price competitive. I also have 2 400GB WD HDD’s setup with RAID0 for my OS drive and have had no troubles with them at all.

็ with e-newsletter coupon, quickly, quiet, came with the newest firmware already installed. 500GB platter density for noticeably faster reads and writes than previous generation drives.Newegg has come a lengthy way with their OEM difficult drive shipping procedures. Drive arrived wrapped in bubble wrap, snugly tucked inside a modest box, nested within a bigger box stuffed with more packing paper. Any drives that arrive dead in all probability left Seagate's factory that way. I've made many Seagate purchases in the past few years. The oldest drives were created in Singapore and the two 7200.12's series that I purchased lately had been made in Indonesia. These newest drives came from a factory in China, which possibly explains the greater than typical rate of DOA complaints on here. Fingers crossed that these drives will last as long as the older ones. Samsung's are made in S. Korea and at least some of the WD Black series are still made in Malaysia. If the poor level of Chinese factory quality control continues I'll go back to getting tough drives in retail shops and checking the stickers on the bottom to cherry choose where they had been created.

Works well, manageable price, does what it's produced to do Did not ship with a SATA Cable, so purchase 1 as well if time is a factor. When the HD is dormant and not in use, and it is then accessed, it takes a few seconds for it to fire up and function. Overal, this tough drive was a great acquire, and it's so far performed admirably, I have no bad sectors, no corrupt files and no troubles. The only factor I seriously have a concern about is that when I go to open some thing on the drive, and it hasnt been used for maybe half an hour, say, view the drive's contents. You click to open, and then you wait a couple of seconds, and you hear the device speeding up again to access the info adn from then on it works rapidly and effectively. I would certainly obtain this once again, and I would certainly suggest it to a friend.
