how bout actually review the product!
Comment:
as someone who actually owns this beast and not just rating based on a drive someone once had at this one place - lemme say this is most bang for the buck - 32mb cache - check 3.0gb sata - check 1 TB storage - check great price - of course check it's important to note any drive CAN fail - from ANY manufacturer - at ANY time! I love this drive working flawlessly - have reccomended to several and will continue to!

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB SATA2 3.5IN 8.5MS 7200RPM 32MB Hard Drive OEM
Cons:No issues so far

Pros:Fast drive, long warranty
Comment:
Purchased about a month ago and almost filled it up with data and it has worked perfectly. Put it into an external enclosure through USB and works great. Consistently getting 15-20 mB/sec transfer rates so they are pretty average speeds.Highly recommended!

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB SATA2 3.5IN 8.5MS 7200RPM 32MB Hard Drive OEM
Cons:-clicking noise

Pros:-lots of storage
Comment:
Got this hard drive when it was on sale a month ago. It is now making a very annoying clicking noise every 5 seconds or so. It noise is not very loud, but it is enough to annoy you and who knows what might happen afterward.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB SATA2 3.5IN 8.5MS 7200RPM 32MB Hard Drive OEM
Cons:Slower than WD black.

Pros:Works as expected.Competitive price.Lower temperature.
Comment:
I installed this Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB Hard Drive in my computer, which only supports SATA1, without any problem. Its temperature is a little lower than Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB. Everything works fine. Its operation sound is normal. The sale price is decent.

Value hardive
Comment:
Hello, I have owned some Seagate hardives in the past and frankly they do NOT hold up as Wester Digital ones do. I mainly use them for external hardives. For example, some time ago my grandmother lost all her hard earned expense records. To have it recovered would have cost more then buying 3 more hardrives. Lastly, though this is a very good value hardive I would not recommend any Seagate hardive as a permanent storage device. Hope this helps.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB SATA2 3.5IN 8.5MS 7200RPM 32MB Hard Drive OEM
Cons:Not reliable

Pros:500GB platter, good performance
Comment:
Bought three of these drives, and one of them started making the 'clicking' sound after four weeks. Tried the SeaTools for DOS, and it crashes the test. Luckily, it still readable, so I can backup my data. But I would not risk using it again. I read other people's review, and seems this is a 'common' problem. So other people who using this drive, do remember to backup your data.

Cons:None that I can think of.

Pros:Great Performance.
Comment:
So far this is a great drive. I bought 6 of them so far, but only have one installed (waiting on more parts).I ran a bonnie++ benchmark on it and am seeing 118MB/s read, and 126MB/s write.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB SATA2 3.5IN 8.5MS 7200RPM 32MB Hard Drive OEM
Cons:scare of the review...

Pros:Low cost and none of them went wrong on me so far
Comment:
Well so far I haven't encounter any broken HDD from seagate so far. I did with Maxtor and Samsung HDD. I guess I have luck with Seagate, even with 7200.11 version. The review say's this version makes the firmware issue gone? So I got 2 of these hoping it works like my old HDD. (Totally have 4 1tb from seagate already)

Cons:none yet

Pros:Seem quiet so farDecent warrantyGreat price
Comment:
Just got this puppy on sale, I plan on using it in an external enclosure to back up my digital photos and other files. It won't run full time so it should last a long time and even if it does start to get noisy I'm not too worried. That being said, I've always had good luck with Seagate drives which is more than I can say for WD or Maxtor...

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB SATA2 3.5IN 8.5MS 7200RPM 32MB Hard Drive OEM
Cons:None

Pros:Quiet and does not get very warm. Decent read and write speeds. Not heavy.
Comment:
I use it in an external enclosure connected via eSATA. I get excellent read/write speeds for large files (videos) and small files. This eSATA enclosure is always on, but the temps are certainly no more warm than the Seagate 500GB i had before in the enclosure. No noticeable difference in speeds between internal HDD and this HD connected externally.

Cons:none

Pros:2 platter implementationCool and quietPrice
Comment:
Great drive. 2 platter design, cool, quiet, fast, and price (99$ on sale). Simply the best 1TB drive at the moment despite Seagate recent firmware issues with the 7200.11 series.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB SATA2 3.5IN 8.5MS 7200RPM 32MB Hard Drive OEM
Cons:none that I have to report

Pros:Seagate Quality, Price
Comment:
I have 4 of these drives in my Desktop in Raid array.I been very happy with them, and even though I did have one drive die, the Seagate support and online RMA process was easy to deal with, and I had a new drive within 2 weeks.Sometimes the after sakes support means much more than the actual product.Performace wise These drives fly, and rate up there with anyone else. When these go on sale k 99 dollar range makes it even a better deal

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB SATA2 3.5IN 8.5MS 7200RPM 32MB Hard Drive OEM
Cons:None really at the moment

Pros:Large capacity
Comment:
This was a great buy. I got this on the promotion that NCIX offered, and it only cost $100 bucks (plus tax of course). This is the main harddrive for my new computer. It seems to run at a low temperature at the moment, but we will see how it goes later on in the year. It is quite affordable for a 1TB harddrive. Seagate makes decent harddrives. I would recommend it if it goes on sale again. Other than that, price match :)
