Comment:
Good slim profile, quite quiet. 500gb is way additional than I will need. But now I dont have to use a second HDD anymore. 1st one particular came DOA, not NewEggs fault, high quality control overseas where it was created desires to step up. NewEgg is usually good for their RMA's. Client service is more than the prime. Adore dealing with them when I have to return Anything.

Had it for about a month now and so far so great. It's quiet with decent study/write occasions.I use it primarily for mp3/movie storage. None nevertheless. My final WD drive stopped spinning only soon after two years. I hope this will last longer.

Very fast, incredibly cool drives. I run RAID-'s in my desktops and I have two machines built on these drives. they are screaming rapid compared even to the WD Raptors. four of the six that I personal have at least 1 negative sector. ƒ of them had half a dozen each and every). I know that it isn't the mobo due to the fact I have run samsung drives on the identical board for just about a year prior to these coming out and they had been rock strong. Great drives, just be positive to run a handful of checks ahead of you use them. I also suggest short-stroking them if you are gonna run a raid. that tiny added space can conserve you from possessing holes in your files.

lot's of space at a decent cost.both drives i have are solid performers I bought this retail bring about i necessary one thing rapid and paid 55 dollars a month ago for the 500gb I know that seagate went through a period where they were possessing drive complications far more than usual but i started out with the 120 gb version of this about four years ago and have had no troubles. Just threw in the 500 gb for storage and am employing the 120 for the os only. Laptop or computer feels Substantially more stable and faster in response.

Fantastic price tag DOA Very first a single I got was detected by the Pc, but S.M.A.R.T. showed it was bad, and I could not get it to format. Did an RMA, and replacement drive was DOA. Got frustrated and just decided to go with a refund and my usual brand, Western Digital.

Quickly and really quiet. My situation fans are louder than the hd. Has been a rather excellent difficult drive in spite of the con to stick to, so I'm nevertheless giving it good eggs. Seen in 1 of my MMO games that the game would lockup when entering a specific location, then when it would unfreeze, some of the landmarks would be missing. In other areas, there would be tiles visible exactly where the ground was supposed to be. In operating with the game devs, offering screenshots and explaining almost everything, they asked me to run a scan for terrible sectors on the hd. I did and it identified some, repaired 100 before quitting. I guess the SeaTools plan quits right after 100 sector repairs by default? Any way to make it fix them all in one particular go? Anyways, immediately after running that a couple instances, the game would not lockup any longer when entering these locations. Nevertheless, the information was nevertheless missing from the game, presumed lost to the bad sector. In running SeaTools tests, the difficult drive returns an AFE49DE2 test code, whatever that signifies. Debating now on RMA'ing it back to Seagate if the SeaTools cannot repair the issues. Believed I would observe Seagate's tips on attempting SeaTools prior to sending back. We'll see how it goes with the SeaTools and if it can get the hd out of the error state and terrible clusters fixed more than time. I'm open-minded that it could be a fluke or just a terrible apple. Still consider very of Seagate and the hard drive has been excellent in spite of the undesirable sectors. More than a year later on a single set up with out ever reformatting says anything as to the durability in spite of it's flaws. Hmm, possibly a wipe/format may possibly repair the challenge? I might try that ultimately prior to returning. We'll see.

It's Seagate, I got it at NewEgg, It's Big, and it was affordable. DOA, First DOA Seagate drive ever. I've built hundreds of machines over the previous ten years ဃ% of parts from NewEgg) and never had a DOA drive. RMA was rapid and uncomplicated. Good to know the method performs, but don't like obtaining to use it. Hope this is not a sign of issues to come from Seagate

I purchased two of these lately.. I had to RMA 1 =(The one that is working even so performs fantastic. A lot of space for affordable.. runs the similar speed as any equivalent HD - five.9 WEI of course. As I stated, one I had to RMA. The tiny L shaped plastic piece on the back where the power connector from the PSU plugs in came broken and wiggling around in the box.Type of sucks that I got this HD for a budget system, then had t devote 11 bucks shipping to RMA it. I could have nearly gotten a bigger hd as an alternative. Wish they would refund my return shipping expense =p Budget gaming setup I produced for wife that involves this;*RAIDMAX Tornado ATX-238WU Black SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Personal computer Situation*ASUS M4A77TD AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard*HIS H577FK1GD Radeon HD 5770 (Juniper XT) 1GB 128-bit*Sunbeam Hush PSU-HUSH580-US 580W ATX12V Power Supply*AMD Athlon II X4 645 Propus 3.1GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor (oc to 4. stable)*A-Information Gaming Series 4GB ƒ x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333G (PC3 10666)*Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3500418AS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA three.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Tricky Drive*ASUS Black 24X DVD+R*Hanns·G HW-191APB Black 19" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 700Ʌ Built-in SpeakersRuns surprisingly nicely and looks remarkable. 107 FPS in WoW, 7.four WEI (aside from hdd)

It was a very good price for my develop I cannot get this paper weight to function, its as if it is poor or wrong or a bad wrong. I am going to pick up one more SATA cable to be certain tho. I have a very high expectation that I will be sending this back. I was building this laptop or computer thinking wow this is going with each other to effectively, then bam I cannot get the hard drive to work.

Came fast, no issues. Popped her in....she booted correct up...formatted her with win 7, and she is flying like a beast. This is prob not a con, but I would of been much more amused if HD's from newegg came in retail boxes. But, not a major deal, just a emo element of my brain. Really QUIET.. I do not know why people say these are loud....I did not even know it was on.

If you purchase 4 and all 4 operate......that's a pro. I never look to be capable to purchase 4 of any hard drive right here and have all 4 perform. Anyway, I tried these in a four disk raid zero and it was zoom zoom zoom. I didn't have a wonderful raid back up software, so when I tested it it did't work. I wanted to go to raid 10 anyway and since it was a clean install the rebuild wasn't to poor. That got 6.four in the win 7 WEI. When I rebuilt to a raid 10 I get 6.two WEI. Not as rapid, but faster then a single drive for confident. Plus if one goes down, no prob. I settled on raid 10 so I wouldn't have to invest 50 bucks a lot more for a plan to image my raid inorder to rebuild it if it goes down. Think me, you want to spend for something like that if you do, do it.......me I went with raid 10 as an alternative, I have a lot of information I can't waste. To a lot time involved. Making use of on an MSI GD65 with an amd x6 1090t at 3.6, 8gigs of 1333 ddr3 ram and two ati 5670's in software xfire...sapphire brand. WEI of 7.6 for both cpu and ram. 7. for graphics, 1 card gets that, doesn't look to make use of xfire for the wei test. I get 19960 in 3dmark06 though.

Purchased two of them for like ึ shipped. Rapidly, single platter drives. Don't appear to make significantly noise. Terrific in a RAID config receiving 180MB/s reads and 140MB/s writes with a PCIE 1x Vantec JMicron SATA II RAID controller. They're really thin which tends to make them easy to mount in drive cages none ๜ for two of these, ห for the Vantec RAID Host controller and Voila !! 1TB of nasty quick for just over 贄. I use these for 1st tier storage and a Kingston SSD for the OS. 2nd tier storage is a Seagate 7200.12 1TB which is alot slower regardless of getting the bigger cache. Keep that in thoughts if you're thinking of obtaining 1 these rather.
