Great drive incredibly quick and so quiet. I did have a fear of getting 1 that was DOA since a lot of men and women seemed to have that difficulties but i bought three drives and all are operating flawlessly and for the cost they are amazing drives will absolutely obtain far more when i want them! none i undoubtedly suggest this drive

Tiny and sleek, excellent portable size. Excellent transfer speeds as well. I genuinely like being able to carry this around so I can have drive space just in case and access to some necessary files handy. The software is clunky but usable.

Works as advertised.Good seek timePretty quietvery slim which is special superior warranty. None. Coming off of western digital and samsung driver I was a bit worried to swap over to this seagate but it appears to be operating just fine and scores a 5.9 in windows 7 scoring program.

This is my second Barracuda 7200.12 my last one has been going strong as my primary drive in my old computer, so bought this 1 to load my OS on my new comp, the old one will grow to be storage/program/game drive.Still crossing my fingers following reading some reviews but not too worried. Loaded Win 7 and been playing with it for days, benchmarking and such

I have 2 250gb barracuda's and 1 1tb barracuda and this 500gb.. They all still perform. I've had the other people for 4 years or much better. The 500gb is amazing. Suprisingly.. speed is decent. None Hard Drive died following 1.5 years of incredibly small usage.Its in all probability the very first challenging drive that has ever died on me. I typically purchase Western Digital, and I decided to give Seagate a try due to the fact Tomshardware had this rated fairly high as far as speed is concerned.I have never had a hard drive die on me before, none of my Western digitals, or even my old maxtor drives. I do have a 6 gig maxtor drive that makes noise, so I just stopped working with it for fear of it dying (its modest anyhow, and Truly old). I have learned my lesson, the drive was nonetheless under warranty, but returning it was a nightmare. They have quite precise return instructions (must be encased in 2 inches of foam rubber, can't be paper or peanuts - they had a complete PDF file of restrictions!) I was so afraid to not mail it back appropriately that I had no selection but to pay for their advanced replacement which they ship you a refurbished drive initially, and then you return the defective drive in the similar packaging that they sent you with the replacement drive. That was 9.95, but honestly, I'm scared to even use the replacement drive for fear seagate items are inferior. Maybe I am just unlucky, but in the future, I'll be getting western digital products.

I purchased it for ึ, it came in 2 days, it works as superior as any SATA three.0Gb/s drive ought to. Didn't come with a SATA cable, but it is a "Bare Drive" so that was expected, and not a real issue.

They are quiet and quickly especially for a Windows Home Server. I have owned numerous Seagate drives and only had one go bad. The cost of these drives is properly worth buying a number of if you can. None at this time. I only wish I could have afforded one a lot more at the time I ordered these two. I wish I could have gotten the third drive and I would have had four instead of three. Typically like Seagate. Usually very reliable.Like Newegg overall, and have employed them for a lot of years. Dead On Arrival. Drives I had on hand worked fine with this new Mboard, but not the brand new 1. Received drive as component of a bundle package. Returned the dead drive for credit, so I no longer got the bundle discount. Had to pay ů to return a drive so I could get Ũ.03 credit. Newegg should pay for return shipping if they send DOA parts.

Great paper weight lol. Appears like a superior drive (small form factor). I have allways been a fan of seagate/maxtor. POST would hang and couldn`t read the drive tried the manual discover drive in BIOS tried diff sata cable to no avail. Bought this along with mobo etc for an upgrade for a freind every thing else went off with out a hitch. Prolly just a bad one but seems to be a typical challenge with this series of seagate drives. I also attempted it as a slave in my stable method as a slave same POST hang and win 7 wouldn`t even boot. RMA for a new 1. I will keep my fingers crossed for this next one, I don`t know that I would recomend this particular series to any individual as this seems to be a typical challenge. I have allways been a little leary of "shipped" difficult drive in particular by UPS. I just envision it bouncing around in the back of the truck scary thought lol I had to give it three eggs thats mostly just for the service from newegg no hassle RMA and outstanding service delivery.

Silent, swift, small, and cost-effective. I purchased my first 1 about 6-8 months ago when I built my current PC with an ASUS P6X58D-E mobo running XP pro and Win7 ultimate. No compatability concerns, and I got plenty of space. Running two of these bad boys. I will be certain to choose up another if I want far more than 1 tb of space. Not a maxtor? not significantly I can do about that although lol. I picked up the second 1 with totally free shipping, created the deal all that far better. Making use of UPS 3day it got to my home in three days, just as advertised. Very good packaging and shipping on Neweggs part. I use my PC for watching movies/videos, on the net/solo gaming, and music.

At least one worked... Ordered 2 drives, 1 drive worked but the second drive was creating a loud clicking sound and BIOS/RAID would not recognize it. Waiting on Newegg to RMA. Nice how the customer has to eat the shipping in order to get a replacement. Perhaps if NewEgg back charged their suppliers rather of customers, they may boost their good quality control.

Windows installed fast so far its working wonderful. Identical windows score as each other challenging drive fairly much. Makes a little far more noise than my last drive which was a Jupiter 160 GB.

QuickCoolQuiet None.. I replaced a system drive for a friend from function with this drive. The drive was affordable and with DiscWizard from seagate I copied all their data to the new drive with no problems. I love seagate goods I have been working with them for more than 15 years.

For me it's been dependable in a hot, dusty function environment for 2+ years. I dust them off once a year, but they seem to hold up properly. Was concerned reading other reviews but have gotten used to them. Fairly quiet, hdtac says they are holding up like the day that I got them. Just bought a 3rd one recently and it performs like the other people. So far, no RMAs and have been 100% reliable. Did I mention the computer system hasn't been "off" in 2 years? Everyday workhorse. The form factor is slim, so it gets plenty of airflow above and below the unit, if setup in a normal tough drive bay. Would purchase one more with no hesitation. Excellent cost/performance ratio. If you require a suitable work drive that doesn't tip the bank this is extremely recommended for a excellent Sata 2 drive. Sata 2 ...nonetheless has life ... quite a few years to go.... but we are seeing new Sata three drives and SSDs that can present far more speed. Some individuals have great achievement in RAID and 1, I've by no means raided the drive although. But reviews and forum posts on the internet say it works well, of course depending on your controller, setup, drivers, etc.

Price, quiet drive, decent speed, runs cool Reliability. As in it's lacking. Purchased 4, two died within a year. Pretty decent failure rate. I expected greater, but now I'm questioning how long I've got before the other two pack it in. Warranty? Yeah, but box up, ship out, wait patiently, recieve a refurbished drive (doesn't exactly fill you with confidence), then reinstall. What a pain. Hoped for much better. Used the other main brand for very a even though, then switched to Seagate. Looks like it's time to switch back for a though.

500gig drives and eventhough they're 16mb cache, for 35 bones I'm not complaining. Each mine work just fine. None. If I can obtain these at the price I did, I'll buy them all day lengthy! I applied these to replace my two ssd's that were in raid zero. I was just questioning what all the hype was about with ssd drives. Certain they're neat, they're quicker, but I can wait a second or so longer when I can acquire these cheap. The ssd's installed updates and programs actually rapidly, impressive quickly. As soon as the word "welcome" showed up on win7 startup, then it went correct to desktop instantly. Really nice, but not worth it to me for the price you have to pay for capacity. I really like them, just not that significantly. I imaged my ssd's and stuck it on two of these drives and though it's not near as quick, it is faster than a single drive, that a lot is noticeable! I can definately live with a couple great mechanical drives in a raid for under 50 bones every single. I'll try to get two far more of these and then try my very first ever four drive raid . Bet that will be amazing. I was obtaining read and writes in the 150+ range with these in pc wizard 2010. Forget which catagory gave me an 85 although. Some off the cuff read test.

Great value, Brand is typically reliable 3rd 1 died almost instantly I already had 2 of these from 2 builds ago and ordered another to run a raid five. The initially 2 were fine for two years now and the 3rd one died after a couple of minutes, but the new one seems to be working fine, must have been a fluke

Was a breeze installing this additional harddrive to my Inspiron531 with Vista. Had to search some forums to find the BIOS settings since my ASUS motherboard M2N61-AX was not recognizing the drive.Had to enable the SATA ports to get this drive and DVD drive up & running. So far so good no complaints.

It runs pretty quiet, cool, fast, plenty of space. I've been using this brand for so long and haven't run into any problems yet.
