I have purchased more than 20 of these drives for use in several systems around the office (Dell Optiplex desktop-chassis 620몁몋몐몤 systems), and all have performed wonderful - incredibly quickly and reliable, in regular and RAID- configurations, with 24-hour up-time. Windows WEI is typically five.9. Only received one drive that was DOA (out of over 20 ordered), which was quickly handled by Newegg's customer service. N/A

Just a little beneath 9 cents a GB (at the time I purchased). You just can't beat that. (And if you can, it's not a fantastic brand like S.B.) I've purchased a quantity of these in the past and have in no way had a drive fail. Even below continuous strain. 16mb cache vs 32mb. Seagate never ever fails.

Purchased a batch of 5 of these drives at a excellent value. They are employed in my internet hosting servers. N/A Originally had 80 GB drives in the servers - and the speed was about 72 MB/sec. These drives have a speed of around 116 MB/sec according to Linux 'hdparm -tT' tests.

I have had a few Seagate drives flop on me but I hold coming back mainly because Seagate has generally delivered a quality solution. It runs quiet and seems to dissipate heat nicely considering its thin style. I bet you could stack two of these appropriate on top of every other and not have any heat difficulties. None so far.

It looks good and the cables attach okay. Failed to finish windows setup...hung up at 20 percent formatted...unusable..standard return policy says can't be returned...SAY WHAT!?

I have built two gaming rigs with these HDDs with no matters. One particular rig is practically a year old and I applied virtually the complete 500gb drive with no slow down. Straightforward to install, was very quiet, operated effectively Almost two years to the day, it stopped functioning with almost no warning On the plus side, information on it was recoverable following I ran out, bought an additional tricky drive and reinstalled windows on it. Very good speeds.Low failure rate.Manufacturer warranty. Technology is gonna pass it by and it will soon be obsolete. I faithfully utilized these drives in just about all of my 'generic' cost competitive builds for my clientele - Time and time once again this drive has verified to be reliable and durable, not to mention the affordability of them as nicely. No b/s right here although, I did not too long ago have a single fail whilst loading the OS - sent it back to Seagate with incredibly little RMA trouble (It's done proper on their website), BUT - certain does take them forever to get it back to you.

Bought two of these drives (one for principal Pc an additional for server). Nothing great came from either. There are zero pros for this drive so far. Of the two drives bought, 1 was DOA so I had to RMA it. Second drive, which is now about 2 months old, is dead. It started to have 80ms seek instances and three.5MB read speeds (max) and generating the amazing click-of-death. So, basically, within 1 month, each of the drives purchased failed. I stopped using Seagate years ago since of random failures I was having with them. I was hoping items had changed, but it seems they have only gotten worse. Not content with them at all.

When the drive operates, it is a sound SATA three. disk. It is quiet and the form element is tiny and the value was fantastic. Bought 2 and 1 died in much less then 24 hours. It would not pass the BIOS when S.M.A.R.T notification was enabled. It indicated the a disk failure was imminent and to replace the drive. Got an RMA from Newegg with NO issue and sent the drive back for replacement

-A lot more than rapid sufficient for the average user/gamer. Faster HDDs (and SSDs) exist but can you truly not wait an added few seconds?-Effortless installation, recognized proper away, no Sensible errors-No complications with packaging, unlike others have reported. Came packaged in an antistatic bag, surrounded by a couple layers of bubble wrap (BIG bubble... bubblewrap.) -None I can believe of. If it craps out on me I'll update the assessment.

Not DOA began correct up no difficulties. packaging was fantastic. runs reasonably quickly. bouth it when it was on sale for 34$ formated in NTSF with only one partision show only 128GB total for use the other 372 is not showing up. was fantastic for its price tag at the time.

It is extremely quiet an reputable. No crashes and no sounds. I'm not a fan of Seagate, but they really surpassed my expectations for this difficult drive. Definetely worth the extra handful of $ surprisingly none get this one particular please

Sleek and slim...excellent price tag i am upgrading from two Wd sata 1.five gbs that are 7 yrs old and thay do just fine. When I recieved the seagate it was dead so i am rma'ing it and giving them yet another try. Try again hopefully the new will be fired up and prepared to go

worked fine although it lasted...fast...quiet...two+yrs didn't final the 32mb cache model is the a single i own...not the 16mb...for the sake of accuracy.

I've had 1 for about a year and it's been working wonderful and just got one more 1. All the negative reviewers should bash their drives before putting them in their computer system.
