I was a die difficult XP guy but immediately after several builds with this I am liking it a lot. Its Windows and you are with the other 86% of the globe market! I will save this for later. Nevertheless dissecting thoroughly. Heck it took me a decade to really study as much as I have about XP and how to seriously tame it and manage it and make it scream!

Windows 7 boots and runs more quickly than XP SP 2. MS finally got it appropriate. 32-bit? Why do they even make this when each and every processor can do 64-bit now? Got this by accident, meant to order the 64-bit version. Luckily, I had a 64-bit DVD already, and the license code that came with this worked fine with the 64-bit version.

Better than vista... It keeps freezing. i upgraded an older compaq P4 2.8GHz with hyperthreading running XP house...IO applied a freshly formatted sata driveƗ passes) but it keeps freezing and i have to kill the power to restart. only have 1gb of memory but ordered 2 gb right here so hope that aids. i was hoping to preserve my machine running a couple of a lot more years with a new os. i tried discovering xp but no longer obtainable so with new os and memory im in about 200. thats half way to a new machine because computer 3200 DDR memory is pricey(supply and demand). really should of installed ubunt lol...

Debated whether or not to upgrade my P4 system and really pleased I did. Massive difference...a pleasure to perform on. Runs wonderful on 1.5 gigs of ram No Win7 drivers for my old ASUS P4P 800 SE onboard sound. Will have to purchase low-cost soundcard

Considerably more affordable than Pro version and practically no distinction in features, free of charge shipping In all versions of 7 there is no way to turn off taskbar always on top so if you like the taskbar at the best of the screen, at times apps open under the taskbar and its challenging to get them moved. Purchase it, functions nicely, most any windows app from the final decade works.

If you liked XP then your going to genuinely in joy Windows 7 None If you have more than 4Gigs of ram then you must go with the 64bit I have 4Gigs and I have usable 3.25 Gigs which is fine for me sense i use some of the older software program that won't run on the 64bit OS

This is one of the very best OS's I have ever worked with. It makes anything nice and uncomplicated and is deffenetly my favorite. I feel everybody need to get Windows 7. I haven't seriously located any but. Almost everything works and with no trouble at all! My only issue is that I can't install WoW but that is because my difficult drive is beginning to go poor. I'm definatly coming to New Egg to get a new tough drive. I advise this to any individual who loved to have a quick and uncomplicated to use laptop or computer.

Getting lived via, and experienced, all the betas of both XP and 7, this OS has turned out to be quite nice. It's stable and rapidly and is performance tweakable for older machines. So far I've either been able to use all my XP programs or uncover very acceptable substitutes. I love free apps and I've not found Windows 7 lacking in this region. In reality, having to give up some of my old apps in favor of Windows 7 ready versions has turned out to be a extremely excellent factor. Incredibly new and some vendors are behind in supplying proper drivers. I'm usually amazed and amused at what those who rate solutions so low have to say. In most cases, and in this case in fact, the low ratings reflect a lack of understanding of how a new OS is deployed to the globe. Drivers usually lag the OS be it Apple, MS, or Linux. A little old fashioned analysis would have prevented numerous, if not all, of the frustrations regarding Windows 7 compatibilities. There's even a Microsoft internet site devoted to that ... more would-be installers regardless of professed tech capability should visit it.

Simple installation. No hassle at all. Though I personally never had a problem with Vista, Windows 7 is faster at commence up. As far as the software program goes, no complaints. Ahead of upgrading, make confident you discover out who created the hardware on your computer so you can get the ideal drivers. Whatever brand name computer system you have, drivers can be found on the company's website. I had to install webcam, card reader, bluetooth, and the sound card on my laptop. The generic drivers from Microsoft allowed some of the hardware to function, but I didn't have the same control that I did just before. On some, it couldn't discover a generic driver at all.

It makes it probable for me to use most applications. Price. โ for Ultimate would nonetheless be to high. I will maintain XP on my other machines until forced to switch by planned obsolescence. At that time I will evaluate total replacement with Linux. Probabilities are that 3ǚ of the boxes I support will be in a position to go to Linux with no fuss.

Much more quickly than Windows XP 32-bit, a lot more stable, much more responsive. Makes use of much less RAM than WinXP SP3 and CPU utilization is much lower on Win7 32-bit. Works properly w/ATI 4650 wǗGB DDR3, even if it is an ATI. This install was an try to squeeze just about every last drop out of this specific PC, and it worked! Really impressed even if it is a Microsoft product. MSI 865PE Neo two-LS can\'t boot this specific install DVD due to identified issue, no fix from MSI. Have to install Windows XP, then WinXP SP3, then Win7. Not Win7's fault, but some thing to keep in mind if you run into issues. Incredibly particular about hardware so be ready to have fresh cards on hand in regards to sound and networking.

I've been using Windows 7 on my Asus k40IN for the past year. The Asus came loaded with Vista but it came with the free upgrade. 7 is a huge improvement over Vista. It has the functions of Vista at the speed and comfort of XP. With SP1 available, any major issues have been smoothed out.
