Value I gave it a low value score as I bought Windows 7 64bit and installed it on my current home PC for my wife to try it out before buying a new PC for myself. We both really liked it. However, I went from XP to W7. XP allows 2 installs of the home edition, W7 does not. At 119.00 for the Home Premium that means I had to spend a total of 220.00cdn for my windows. Features Windows 7 has alot of great features and improvements over XP (I Skipped Vista altogether so I have no frame of reference there) Improved and intuitive security is sort of like set it and forget it its no maintenance intensive. Network setup for 2 home PCs and a common printer was basically 1 click. Quality Intermitant hangups: Lots of ppl having this issue. DO NOT USE a mem card to

Installed this OS on my 3.5 year old laptop that was running XP. It does seem a bit faster and is certainly more stable, however my 8 in 1 flash card reader no longer works. After a week of troubleshooting I have not found a cure. All other hardware, including the USB ports work fine. Nevertheless I will not go back to XP and may continue to look for a driver for the reader. Tiger Direct has very fast delivery to Canada.

i finally took the chance and switched from XP to Win7 ... so glad i did ... install was clean neat and very quick, the only thing that took some time was finding the sound drivers for my MB, but that was painless as well ... haven;t found a single problem with this OS yet, very happy with it ...

I got this with a barebones kit everything installed easily but when using Media Player it will lock up after a couple of songs. Also IE8 freezes and I get a message saying IE8 has stopped working and must close I tried a new motherboard then a new hard drive then new drivers it still does the same thing. I see from forums I am not the only one with this problem. i am going back to XP or an open source OS that begins with L.

Windows 7 is what Vista should have been. It is only a minor upgrade from Vista but will be a breath of fresh air for WinXP users.As for price...it is disappointing that MS decided to charge more for the 32bit version vs. the 64bit, plus remove the options to purchase lower-cost upgrade versions or Family 3-packs. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth, especially for Vista users who had already paid this amount of money for a slightly inferior OS only 1-2 years prior.

I didn't like Vista from day one. Finally decided to eliminate the whole aggrevation and did a clean install of Windows 7. It's only been a couple of months but so far I have been pleased with more simplicity of use. The price was great from here and the shipping was free. I am very satisfied with the whole thing. I will buy from them again.

My headline pretty much says it all. They came through with the great service and quick shipping. Microsoft has finally made an Operating System to rival (and quite possible beat out) Windows XP. This EASILY beats Vista in a heartbeat. MUCH better compatibility, makes getting online and joining networks a snap. Also works wonderfully with adding new hardware and automatically finding and installing the correct drivers. I really enjoyed that feature when building my new computer and plugging in a new printer and such. Also I love the fact that this OS is so much less invasive than Vista. Less annoying pop up windows and confirmation dialog boxes.

Great OS. I enjoyed the free RTM version this is essentially the same minus a few features. Windows 7 has much better driver support then when Vista emerged plus it installs most drivers automatically.

Microsoft finally got it right! Took about 20 min. on a clean install and it is as close to perfect as computing can be. Great service from these guys as usual.

Had the last OS on my notebook and hated it, so I held onto my old desktop Finally gave in when I got a barebones kit that included Windows 7. Well, I just love it. It's fast, easy to use, and not at all bloated. Has option to turn off that annoying ''are you sure you want to do that'' dialog box that pops up every time you want to do something. Windows 7 is great!

It is a faster system and is much easier to teach individual how to use. I work with HS Kids and they love it.

The 32bit Windows 7 is a fair product. I found it to be okay. I ended up having to put a 64bit on my Desk top. I am not sure what went wrong. So I can only say. Be careful when loading. Sit by and keep a watchful eye on the process. LC
