brought my old laptop back to life
Comment:
I had an 8yr old laptop (pentium mobile 1.8GHz, 2GB RAM, nvidia Go GeForce FX 5200) that had XP Home on it. After installing this the laptop was usable again. The only issue was with the video driver (I had to install Vista drivers).

Words from an XP user
Comment:
I bought W7 the day it came out and tried to give it an honest chance and rid myself of the bad taste in my mouth after the halve baked Vista system. I must admit it is much better. On the other hand, I'm sorry to say I reverted back to XP simply because of the file system. For the home user, there is no good reason to have data files and data folders in the system. One offers no data and the other, data as usual. There must be a reason for this off in the future for Microsoft but right now it's confusing. This could be helpful for networking but for a home user it's the pits. There are lots of features I liked but it's back to XP for awhile I guess.

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit 1-Pack for System Builders
Cons:None so far...

Pros:Cool features, fast boot, snappier interface
Comment:
Microsoft has really stepped up their OS with Windows 7. It is a totally different build than vista and preforms a thousand times faster. The feature set is great and I would definitely recommend to anyone switching from XP, or Vista.

Not all of us sits at our computers with a stopwatch. My wife's 2.2ghz, 2 gbram, Win7 laptop is quick but she is always coming back to my to my 2.8p4 2gbram WinXP to burn and photo edit. She say's she likes WinXP better and Win7 is pretty but it's too confusing

BEST Operating System Ever Built
Comment:
Purchased Windows 7 Home Premium to upgrade Vista that I had in my laptop, and WOW. I was amazed at how easy and fast it was to install it from scratch reformatting the drive. When it was finished, I installed all the drivers to my laptop, compatible or not, they installed. Then, went to Windows update, and after in downloaded and installed any important updates that had been issued since the intitial release, it also updated any drivers that were out dated. I was amazed. All my programs and device drivers for my periferals, work flawlessly, and navigating around from page to page, program to program, is so much easier now than ever. And what I love the most aside from its look and features, 1, it's stability, and 2, boots up and shuts down a whole lot faster than Vista, and 3, it not so memoray hungry. Hands down, this has to be one of the BEST operating systems ever built by Microsoft. They finally did something RIGHT.

Vista Done Right!
Comment:
Considering Microsoft doesn't have room to screw up this time, Seven is all that it was pumped up to be, and a little more. This is an excellent upgrade from XP, and as many have said, it is Vista done right. Imagine Vista with a more useful taskbar and is quite a bit quicker. That's Windows 7. Just one word of warning about the OEM Licenses, they can only be licensed to one motherboard, so if you upgrade your main board, you have to go through Microsoft's automated phone service to activate Windows, like I had to.

I love it!
Comment:
It is more stable and more user friendly than VISTA. Options and system maintenance are as easily accessible as XP. It confirms intent to install software, without being so intrusive as VISTA. I have only installed Word 2007, MS Money 2001 but they both run seamlessly. The start menu is beautiful. It's more like a pop-up window than a drop-down menu. It bring all the applications that much closer to your fingertips, and it doesn't close if you accidentally point to the desktop. I also like the native game enhancements.

Windows 7 Home Premium on a Netbook
Comment:
Once the new Drivers and BIOS were available, this install was flawless. Upgraded, actually a full install since there is no real Upgrade, this Netbook without a hitch. Lots of reboots. I run minimal add-on software such as TN3270, OpenOffice, Thunderbird, AVG, etc. Setting up to connect to our business VPN was simple and Remote Desktop over the VPN to a Windows 7 64-bit Pro system is flawless. Oddly, the Netbook seems faster now even though it is still 32-bit as the N280 processor is not 64-bit. I added a 2nd GB of RAM at the time but don't know yet what difference that makes but will look into it when I have the time. One oddity with is that it says you cannot use the the new direct connection to another Windows 7 System on the LAN because of some issue with IP V6. However, IP V6 is installed so this is a peculiar warming. I will try this later once the home desktop system is upgraded from Vista Ultimate 64-bit to Windows 7 Ultimate

I have never built a system in which OS installs in under 2 hours, but this one took only about 20 min. I think a volume license is in order! Yay!

Windows 7 Rocks
Comment:
I love Windows 7! It is rock solid and the features are great. My PC is getting much better at acting like my old Mac. Win 7 is much more stable and I find that if there isn't a driver for something out yet that the Vista driver usually works. Down side?? Al OS's should be free. : (

Not bad.
Comment:
Ahhh, I was one of the die hards who almost made a career out of rolling back machines from their previous release. I recommend this release. The new start bar functions alone are worth it to any designer. The only issue I had is it wouldn't not boot from the DVD, so I just put in a secondary boot hd with a previous release and started the install on my main drive from there. Upon first restart I powered down and removed secondary boot drive and install went off without a hitch.

Great Value
Comment:
If your looking to upgrade to Windows 7 this is the way to go much less than buying a retail copy. One thing I have to mention is if your running dual monitors disconnect one or the install will stop near the end and yo'll get a Black screen

Better Get Your Popcorn!!!!!
Comment:
I had been using XP for the longest and finally decided to build another computer. IT WORKS GREAT!!! Only had a problem with my HD being in a dynamic state. So, I had to put it back into my old unit (XP) and change it to Basic. Once that was over everything load perfectly. Going to update my netbood next.
