Above and Beyond the Call
Comment:
I buy almost everything electronic from this site. From computer cases to cpu's. If they sold refrigerators, I would more than likely buy one. This Seagate 1.5TB sata HD is just another example of the kind of quality product a person can expect from your company. Seagate manufactures a great hard drive, and their 1.5TB Barracuda is fast and reliable.

Tricky rebate!
Comment:
Drive is good, about 1300MB of useable space. But the rebate is tricky becuase there is no UPC on the OEM packaging!

Great brand good price
Comment:
I have been a Seagate fan since the first drive and i still have it, using it for backup. I have 4 Seagate drives in my comp, sorry 3 i gave one up to make Cindy a comp. Decided to try another brand and was going to use it in her comp it crashed rma got another one it crashed in 2 days rma for the 3 one and asked for a different size or type got a little bigger one using it for none critical backup, so that's how Cindy got my 160 GB Seagate which is 6-7 yrs old, she has a full os on another drive in case it fails- i have not had one Seagate drive fail yet and i have built many comp i will only use them.. Read the reviews and chose wisely.

Great drive for a great price
Comment:
A lot of people on here don't really know what they're talking about and they complain about something that happens with ANY kind of drive. If you're buying a mechanical drive it COULD fail. This is one of the best names out there for drives. I have 3 of these, and I've never had one of these fail on me due to a manufacturer defect. I may have dropped one or two.. Do not be afraid to pick up one of these drives! More than pleased.

Best HDD by FAR for SURE! I got 7 of these so far
Comment:
This is the best HDD and the most GB per Dollar, with the most reliable HDD I have ever built into a system, Ive got five of these internal (and the 300Gb 10,000 RPM primary) and three of them E-Sata thru a dual BAY, that makes for 4.5Tb of removable (backup) storage! And a whopping 7.5Terabytes (roughly 7300Gb) of high speed internal storage for my Quad Core i7 beast at 4Ghz CPU with 12Gb of 1866Mhz DDR3! With Built in HDTV Video Capture it really rocks and for GAMING DELIGHT, no Lag Zero Latency NIC with 400Mhz processor of its own.

So far so good
Comment:
I recently purchased on these drives and so far no problems whatsoever. The drive is very quiet and has grealy improved the speed of my PC. I have a second drive on my system which runs Windows XP, my new drive runs Windows 7 and I can switch between them with no problems. My old drive is also a Seagate and it has survived two overseas moves with no incidents. I would greatly recommend this seagate drive to anyone wanting to upgrade their PCs with greater storage capacity.

Best 1.5TB harddrive
Comment:
I have owned other brands such as hitachi deskstar (aka deathstar) and western digital. I have purchased 7 of these drives over the past 6 months and havent had a single problem. The performance is quite good. I have 2 of these mounted in an enclosure that i take everywhere with me. I have even dropped the enclosure and lucky enough the drives still work! i was suprised to say the least. I would recommend anyone to purchase these. I have never updated the firmware like others have. If it isnt broke then dont fix it! I just used them straight out of the box. Highly recommended.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1.5TB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:none.

Pros:Good value for size and runs cool.
Comment:
Bought this to replace a faulty 1TB WD Caviar Black.I guess i was unlucky with the WD.Offers the same performance as the WD a 5.9 but runs cooler and is a better buy imo.Have never had a Seagate drive fail on me been using them for years.Have had two WD's and both have died.I'm just stating the facts in my experiences with hard drives.I've just been unlucky with WD so far.

Great Drives While They Last
Comment:
I would like to hope that my bad luck is the exception, but I've had two out of 5 of these drives fail within a year. Luckily I've had them in a RAID configuration, so I didn't lose my system. They are a great value and performance was fine, but the longevity of these drives are somewhat in question from my experience at this point. It's always advisable to have a backup, but I would be even more diligent with these drives.

Drive Failed after 6 months
Comment:
This drive has been working fine for six months and then suddenly (having not changed system configuration or hardware) it is not failing to be recognized, and it's my boot drive. Strangely, when I try the drive on another machine it seems to be working ok. Still, this seems to be a bad product failure, and I've tried various troubleshooting, including Seagate website and nothing works (updated bios settings, changed jumper settings on drive etc..). I think the manufacturer is dodging the bullet on this rather than trying to solve the problem.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1.5TB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:None.

Pros:Runs perfectly.
Comment:
Everyone seems to hate Seagate but basically I buy whichever hard drive is the cheapest. They run as a hard drive should, and I have yet to encounter any errors with any of my seagate drives. If they happen to malfunction the warranty will take care of it.

I bought this to use as an external back-up drive for my internal RAID 0 drive set-up. It works as expected. FYI, this is a bare-bones unit without any cables or screws.

Lost It All
Comment:
Bought this drive in December of 2008. Drive failed 9 months later. Complete mechanical failure. Manufacturer defect. Not my fault. Manufacturer does not cover data recovery. Cost to recover 2400. Great price for this much storage. You think?! Will never buy another product from this manufacturer.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1.5TB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:Uses a spindle - make sure to cool your drives.

Pros:Good $/GB ratio at the time.Excellent performer as a data drive.
Comment:
I read the reviews of this drive prior to purchasing. While it wasn't the best option at the time (Caviar Blacks were getting really good reviews), the $/GB ratio was excellent for the performance.I've since been using a pair in Intel Matrix RAID-1 and they perform very well in Windows XP and now in Windows 7 Pro. No issues with Windows XP and Win 7 power saving schemes in RAID.To reiterate the rule: Make sure you cool your spindle HDDs. Spinning platters generate heat and heat over time may cause your drives to fail. So make sure to cool them with a decent fan.I wonder how many people on NCIX give a drive a bad rating just because they didn't properly cool their system? Don't blame the drive if you didn't spend $5 to buy a 80mm fan to keep them cool.
