This is a good hard drive I now own 2 WD green edition HD's and have yet to have a problem. I plugged it into my Eagletech SATA docking station and the drive was recognized with no problems after using disk management in Windows. |

It's fast, simple to setup, simple to format. I would also like to note that the SATA energy, and information plugs are incredibly sturdy! I got this poor boy to replace my last drive. N/A I just wish it as a tad heavier to show off its beastliness |

Comment:
1.5TB Have Win7 Pro x64 installed on a 64gb SSD. This drive would only remain detected by Windows for a few minutes, then would disappear. Any installation onto it or any transfer to or from it would result in BSOD. Ultimately the corruption totally destroyed the windows installation and had to be reinstalled. Reinstalled drivers and every little thing with just my SSD and 500gb WD Black HDD(which I've had for years and haven't had a single problem with), and every little thing worked fine. Connected the 1.5TB drive, and immediately saw error following error, failure following failure. RMA'd for a refund. Newegg is amazing, as always. |

Comment:
Fantastic value, difficult to beat four cents per GB. 64MB cache is nice too. Drive works fantastic. No issues at all so far, just like just about every other WD drive I've ever bought. Picked it up as a media storage drive, and it has no dilemma at all playing back some of the 720p stuff I've got. No genuine noticeable flaws. Not 7200 RPM, but not really an problem for my purposes. Disk formats to 1.36 TB on my Windows 7 machine. |

Cons:Advanced file format if using WHSDid not come with a jumper
Pros:Great PriceWD Green lineQuiet and cool Comment:
This drive is great. The only snag is that I had to jumper it for WHS. Not normally an issue however it did not come with a jumper. Aside from that nothing fancy from an hdd. Its a green drive that I know and love. |

Comment:
Pain cost-free setup, began transfers right away soon after boot as soon as or twice it has dropped off explorer only to pop back up five minutes later in great shape. I have 3 WD HDDs in this case one is even ripped out of a external HDD whose power adapter failed and it works fine without reformatting. Also as mentioned it does what it says on the box. It is a caviar green which is power and income saving so of course you are going to take a speed hit that is why you get a caviar blue or black but of course that indicates a extra 40$ or so. It is a storage drive not a key drive |

Cons:Reliability
Pros:Size and price Comment:
Great for extra storage space. Good bang for you buck. I got it on sale for 49.99. Performs great, I use mainly to backup my existing data and have not run into an issue thus far. Would not recommend as a main drive, would be best to lay down more dollars for a higher model. |

Pros:Good Storage Capacity Comment:
I thought this was a 7200rpm but its not and now i'm stuck with it as a boot drive but it gets the job done. If you want it as a storage drive and you get it on sale than its a good thing. |

Cons:Read about lots of these dying in short periods of time.
Pros:InexpensiveLarge capacity Comment:
Got 2 of these on sale to beef up my storage since I was running out of room.I am using 1 as a network storage drive with a Pogoplug unit and the other is sitting on my desk waiting to go into my case.I have read lots of horror stories with these drives dying in short time so I won't be erasing the data that was transferred to the one drive until it has proven that it will stand up. So far so good but it has only been a short time.I will update and review the 2nd of the 2 drives when I get it into the case.I have had very good luck with my 1.5yr old WD 15EADS so far so hopefully these 15EARS are just as good. |

Cons:Stopped working after a few days (Probably just got the dud of the bunch), pretty slow
Pros:Alot of space, cheaper Comment:
Had this in my computer for 4 days and it was working fine. Then it stopped working and now wont even recognize as a harddrive. I must have just gotten the bad apple of the bunch so i wouldnt worry. But alot of space and if it wouldnt have stopped working i would have just paired this with a good SSD to store stuff. |

Cons:none for now
Pros:Silents and regularly in special. Comment:
I use it in a CCTV server to record 24/7 and this hhd look to handle it very well. |
Hight capacity. Quiet. says its green. Accurate speed not listed. I use it as a secondary drive with the primary being SSD. I set is up so huge files (like game files, movies music, pictures) load off this drive while OS files remain on SSD. This arrangement works properly. Adore this challenging drive.
