Great processor, easily overclocked. Worth the money. If you have a older motherboard, make sure to update your Bios to run this processor to its fullest potential. Great for gaming.

I was going to buy the 965 rather than this one but there was only a 200mhz difference for a huge price gap, and when i installed it on my new build? it was breathtaking speed. If i did anything on my computer, from opening up a simple document to launching a game, if i blinked i would miss the loading time! :P BUY THIS CPU, YOU WONT REGRET IT!

i am running an older asus board a M3A with 1105 Bios and a dual os Xp and win7 ultimate very fast and reliable.

I got this cpu along with a Gigabyte ma785gm-us2h mobo. The cpu is very fast compared to my old one. One thing that i didn't find all that great was the cooler, it isn't very efficient and is kinda loud. Other than that though it is a great buy.

It's exactly what I expected it to be, stable, and user friendly. Win 7 rated it a 7.5, and it's been running stable mildly OC'd at 3.6GHZ for the last month.

Had a AMD 3.0 6000 dual core made a 6.1 on windows 7 64 bit. Then Got this and made a 7.4. Make sure when you get this with windows 7 you have to re-install windows 7 to recognize this processor. At least I had to. All 4 cores running good now. I also went into bios and set cpu config to use all 4 cores.

Bought this as a combo pack with ASUS M4A78T-E Motherboard. Saved a few bucks this way and it's wicked fast! Finally upgraded from a P4 single core to this bad boy quad-core. Well worth it. Multitasking works flawlessly. I am not a hardcore gamer, but I do play TW 08 golf, and it loads and runs way faster than before. Not even close. If you on the fence as to what you need, just go get one of the top AMD CPU's out there. It will be well worth your hard-earned money!

I got this Cpu in the other day and it work's pretty good! lol considering it only run's on 3 core's on the ASUS M4A79T Deluxe. From what i've read the ASUS M4A79T Deluxe Bios has some issue's with the AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition.I don't really know how many people are haveing this problem but i hope that Asus fixes this problem soon!

Pros: I got this processor yesterday, and my system is a BAT!!! I am an AMD-ONLY Guy myself, and I have seen the AMD 3.0, and others, and by far this processor is faster than all the others, hands down!! While it doesn't have the L2-Cache of the 3.0, it really doesn't need it. In my opinion, it's well worth the extra $20 to get this one. The processors unlocked, what the BIOS reports as being

I've had this processor for about 2 months now amd i really think its awesome. Although this processor is kinna pricey (check out directcanada for better deal), i still think its bang for a buck and cheaper than an INtel 3 or 5..but still performs extremely well.

Pros: Save 20 bucks and buy this 3.0Ghz chip works just as fast as the 3.2 965 model, It's AMD what can I say I have always owned AMD since the beginning and don't plan to cahnge and why would one want an Intel chip they cost almost double the price. Cons: Can't think of any. Other Thaoughts: If you are looking to multi task while you play on the PC this is the chip to use with it's on chip 6mb memory.

I'm very impressed with the value of this processor. It brings quad core cpus into an affordable price range. I'm running some pretty CPU intensive programs, and It's holding up fine.I have no complaints of any merit.

Pretty good value for a 4 core. However I was a little disappointing in the performance compared to the overclocked Core 2 Duo e4400 I upgraded from. I expected that it would blow the Intel out of the water. However it was not that much of an increase for real world applications. Fr instace video editing wasn't realy much faster. It does game very well though.The new cooler seems to be somewhat better quality than the older ones AMD was selling with their CPUs.Copper heat pipes even! I PMnd this puppy and got an even better deal. I think it is a pretty good purchase while we wait for the next generation to come out and prices to get better.

This is a solid processor that I am keeping cool with an OCZ Vendetta 2 HSF. Idle temps are around 30-31C at stock speeds and 34C at 3.8Ghz. Very easy to overclock this processor. I just installed this last night, installed windows 7 and started loading my apps back on. In the meantime I loaded up TurboV and AMD Overdrive. I just played really quickly with the cpu multiplier and bumped it up to 19 with a voltage jump up to 1.45V and temps look good.I didn't get a chance to test it under load because I was busy last night but I expect 3.8Ghz will be rock solid, I've heard some people with my cpu and HSF setup have hit 4Ghz without issue so I will definitely take my time and see what I can get it too.

I have to say i am pretty impressed with the 955, at stock speeds it seems to be a very good performer per dollar spent in games (which is important to me). Works with a wide variety of amd motherboards and memory combinations thanks to am2, + and am3 , ddr2 and ddr3 Compatibility.
