AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons: The cpu fan wire can get in the way of the fan.

Pros: Great processing power at a fantastic price. Easy to install stock cooling system.
Comment:
This is my first time building my own computer and I wanted a decent processing speed quad core for a good price. This was it. It comes with a very nice stock heat sink and fan and installation was ridiculously easy. I have yet to over clock it because my knowledge on that is quite minimal.

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons: None really.

Pros: Price. Well suited for budget builds that can still do a lot.
Comment:
Best bang for your buck CPU you can get. Sure you can get the 965 for a few $$$ more but with the right motherboard, you can OC this to 965 stock specs. If all you would do is gaming and limited multimedia work, this a great processor.

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons: -Intel is still faster, but at a cost-Very loud heatsink

Pros: +Fast+Quad Core+Unlocked
Comment:
The cpu has plenty of power for what most users will be doing. Intel still keeps top place, but for this price its a good buy. One thing to watch out for is the stock heatsink, its LOUD when the system is loaded. This cpu at idle has a surprisingly low power consumption.

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons: none yet

Pros: FastCheapO/C friendly
Comment:
I bought this CPU for a HTPC; a slight overkill, but it's pretty much future proof for at least a couple years. Because it's a black edition, it is easiy over clockable (though I haven't tried it yet). Also, compared to other quad-code processors, this chip's price is quite a bargain.

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons: None so far

Pros: FastHighly Overclockable Runs Cool
Comment:
Bought this chip to replace my aged AMD X2 6000+. i can say that i noticed a huge difference, everything performs, and runs faster. i am very impressed with how cool this chip runs (i am using MX3 paste and a Zalman 9700 cooler) it runs l 26 degrees idle and 29 degrees load with stock clock speeds (granted i am using it in my basement which is cool to begin with). i was able to hit 3.9ghz just by changing the multiplier from 16 to 19.5 (stable) runs 30degrees idle and 38 degrees load. i can hit 4.0 on stock voltage as well however is not stable under stress test but can still play games without crashing. i am confident i can hit 4.2 with some minor adjustments to voltages and northbrige clocks.GREAT CHIP! highly recommended and at 169.99 on sale might as well get it instead of the 965.

Comment:
Package arrived and sure looked small. Guess what, this is not a small performer. Supplied heat sink and fan keep this thing running cool. The average temp has been around 25C. Great value for the price. Use for video work. Does a good job running in Win 7.

Good product
Comment:
Always had luck with AMD processors. I would rather put the $150.00 in my pocket than in Intel's for a comparable product. I don't get into overclocking. I don't need extreme gaming speed. I can't say how this processor would perform under those conditions.

Headline says it all pretty much. Installed windows7 in less than 30 minutes. We'll see how it holds up, my first AMD is 8 years old and still running. So this one should be fine for a long while. Running multiple applications seems to be no problem for this CPU, I like it!

Cons: a bit high TDP

Pros: Unlocked multipliergood frequency
Comment:
Didn't overclock it yet but even with low end board the overclocking with the multiplier would be easyVery good performance I saw a huge gain from my 5000+ I can now play all my games with the highest in games physics effect and others that where more cpu demanding

Comment:
Absolutely smokes my old Phenom 9600. Currently running it with DDR2 1066 RAM, so I haven't truly unlocked it's full potential, but everything runs great, from general office or p2p programs to games. I haven't overclocked yet, but from what I've read, this particular chip should have quite a bit of head way. I don't think the current heatsinks they supply are as good as the ones from the Athlon 64 days, but it's more than adequate, no problems with temps whatsoever. I did, however, clean the factory stuff off and use a very popular third party thermal paste. Be advised that although this is close to top of the line for this company it doesn't come close to the performance of the Core i7's, but then again, neither does the price tag. For the price, this or the 965 are fantastic bang for your buck choices.

Better than Intel
Comment:
Its fast, cheap, and easy to install. Given the stock fan is a bit noisy that doesn't really bother me when you consider the amount of value I am getting from this product. It absolutely blows away my old Q6600 processor. Its way cheaper to.
