Price, functions, size, ease of installation and lengthy-term history with Lite-On drives. None! I still have operating Lite-On CD/DVD drives dating back far more than five years! Heck, I believe that I have 1 or two that go back to my Windows 98 develop days! Some came with some version of Nero.Given that moving to PCLinuxOS I have built or rebuilt five+ systems with new and reused Lite-On drives. Some are old by currently's specs, but still get the job accomplished. This drive appears to be living up to my expectations...or I just might be lucky!Read the item description...OEM = Original Equipment Manufacture...a bare drive...NO SATA cable. Ya want a retail product...go to a retail store.Stop embarrassing yourselves.

I've owned Lite-On DVD Drives just before, so I know what to expect. For the most portion, it works as intended and is pretty quick to burn files. No complaints The only con is that the power slot is a small complicated to insert a cable to. You virtually have to force it in. It could be my power supply, but difficult to really guage.

This drive can be cross-flashed to the 'second best' 524 series in the iHAS line of lite-on dvd drives (ncix would probably charge 50 bucks if they had it). But seriously the lightscribe/labeltag/smart erase are all junk anyways, a sharpie/scissors would snatch their conscious existence in some parallel non-materialist world. Other then that this is the B revision...for now. Pricematch!

Good drive, fairly fast read/write speed for a lower expense drive. Worked fine proper out of the box (even right after I dropped it even though taking out of the box, whoops). I suggest this drive. None to speak of. At initial when I booted my PC it wouldn't work, the light blinked (which indicated it was obtaining power) but it didn't open or anything when the button was pressed. Which was kind of a large deal seeing as I hadn't installed Windows...Turns out the dilemma was a poor SATA cable, nothing with the drive at all!

Great bang for the Buck! Straightforward set up, Replaced similiar older IDE model whose tray would not eject. Got tired of utilizing a paperclip. This SATA model works wonderful! Quiet! None so far. No SATA cable included, luckily I had one.

Reads and writes nearly almost everything at a decent speed. Quiet. None. Purchased this drive to replace one that had a faulty door. Fits perfectly in my Thermaltake Armor Series case, as expected.

It was simple to install, and it works well. didn't come with a sata cable.

Affordable drive, works with each and every disk I throw at it. It didn't come with a stripper. Been employing Lite-On drives for years, and truly they tend to last that long. Used other brands, but keep coming back to Lite-On.

Still works like a charm right after a year. I don't keep it in my machine any a lot more, it is a floater between two machines (lazy boot drive). None.

It does specifically what I need it to do. Fast for the price, worked correct out of the packaging (not box, as it is OEM). Newegg shipping was outstanding, got here in two days. Would undoubtedly reccomend this item to any person! It does not come with a SATA cable, but I knew this since the item description says "OEM", and SATA cables are quite affordable now. Working with it to back up old photos and videos.

Excellent OEM unit... Does precisely what what I need to have for my HTPC. No computer software, hardware or cables...but hey you already know that. Superior affordable CD/DVD unit.

Great optical drive, arrived very fast from ncix, use this drive in many client builds and has never dissapionted. Simple easy, what more can you ask for.

Very pleased with Lite-On drive so far. A few drive have stuck tray, which requires you to keep pushing the open button more than one time. I used DVD Decrypter to read and write most of my DVDs, I like the option within the software, which support Lite-on drive, to set DVD+R/+DL media to DVD-ROM (don't know if it make a different or not but a personal preference really). Drive do tend to keep on spinning if you have a disc inside. Maybe for about 10min or so. Cache of the drive is less than 2MB or 2048 KB. With faster computer with more ram now a day, I guess buffer under is less likely to happen even with small cache. Noise is very subjective from person to person so no complain yet.

This was one sweet deal, The Lite-on DVD Writer installed automaticly, didn't even have to up drivers. I am running Win. 7 Ult. & it does any updates for you. I would recomend the Lite-on to anyone, It's very quiet when running, easy to install.
