Linksys WRT54GL 4 Port Wireless G Broadband Router Linux Version 54MBPS 802.11G 802.11B
Cons:Priced at $60... should have bought a long time ago. No GB support.

Pros:Solid, 3rd Party Firmware, good range,
Comment:
The best, most solid 54MB router on the market for tech people. However, it's not for the average consumer who will never flash it etc.. There are other Linksys products for them :)

Good router, use ddwrt
Comment:
Throw away the startup disk, use the web interface at 192.168.1.1. Flashed ddwrt onto it, works great as a client bridge.

Linksys WRT54GL 4 Port Wireless G Broadband Router Linux Version 54MBPS 802.11G 802.11B
Cons:none!

Pros:Can flash with custom firmware.
Comment:
By far the best router I have ever owned. Flashed it with tomato the day I set it up and it has been online for 125 days straight with no drop  in performance! I download on multiple connections and have 3 computers hooked up to it and notice no drop  in connection when using all three. Awesome router!

Inexpensive replacement
Comment:
So far, so good. I replaced a 14 month new WRT-310N with this; the 310N had an overheat problem that I think shortened the life span. Anyway I like the external antenna, and the fact the base OS is open source. I'm a tad dissapointed with the range; not much better signal at the far end of the house than the 310N, but I did improve the range with small parabolic antenna add-ons. Aside from that, I have spoken to a great many folks who use this brand Linksys and have had nothing but good things to say about it. Plan to upgrade to the dd-wrt firmware as that seems to help the range as well.

Cons:went through several models/firmware iterations and thus may be confusing to upgrade if ever needed

Pros:a simple look at the ~250 positive reviews should be enough
Comment:
allows for great configuration flexibility, provides every commonly available option as well as just about the best in terms of broad compatibility of home routers/firewall/access-point. it does it all brilliantly.

Linksys WRT54GL 4 Port Wireless G Broadband Router Linux Version 54MBPS 802.11G 802.11B
Cons:None

Pros:Very reliableLots of extra settings available (flashed with WW-DRT)
Comment:
This became my second WRT54GL, after having one for over a year. Both were flashed with DD-WRT. Using it currently to share an internet connection to another building on the property. Worked far better than I expected. At least 200 ft and a few walls stand in the way, but I can get almost full speed in the other building.

Replaced a Belkin with this router and found Linksys to be so much better! Throw the setup disk away as you won't need it. It causes more problems than it solves.

We have been using one of these for about the last eighteen months. Flashed it with Tomato, fine tuned it to output 150%, run MAC address security. We cover a four story 6500 sq. ft. apartment building and the surrounding yard with out a glitch! Five Star Product

Linksys WRT54GL 4 Port Wireless G Broadband Router Linux Version 54MBPS 802.11G 802.11B
Cons:none

Pros:reliable, easy to use and install, good range for wireless
Comment:
This is a long overdue review as I ordered one back in June. Followed through with the instructions on the website instead of the mini-CD that came with it. I'm talking about easy till the point of dummy proof. Wireless is awesome and I can get a signal 30 feet away. This router will continue to get good reviews, nothing I can add.

Linksys WRT54GL 4 Port Wireless G Broadband Router Linux Version 54MBPS 802.11G 802.11B
Cons:Stock firmware.Only wireless B/G.

Pros:Can upgrade to 3rd party firmware.decent form factor.Seems solidly built.
Comment:
Like many others, as soon as I received this device, I flashed it with a 3rd party firmware, in this case, Tomato. No trouble ever since, solid signal, and even when boosting the antenna output to 70mw there's still no noticeable heat increase! It's sitting in a closet right now along with my cable modem, and possibly a small file server soon too. The closet remains below room temperature. Overall, highly recommended, very solid showing from Linksys/Cisco, as long as you upgrade that firmware!

Linksys WRT54GL 4 Port Wireless G Broadband Router Linux Version 54MBPS 802.11G 802.11B
Cons:Only a G

Pros:Custom Firmware, Solid, Cannot break
Comment:
I have purchased 5 of these routers for myself and friends. Tomato Firmware is the best and it never breaks on me. Excellent router for it's value. Cannot wait until an N router can use custom firmware as well too.

Linksys WRT54GL 4 Port Wireless G Broadband Router Linux Version 54MBPS 802.11G 802.11B
Cons:Big? It's not a streamlined look like the new "N" routers? In other words, no true weaknesses.

Pros:Works. It's quiet, not too hot, has good antennas. Reception is good, but then again my apartment is small =P
Comment:
I got this for my apartment and it works. I'm not into flashing the firmware, so keeping it simple and using a bit of encryption has been relatively easy. The speed is good: I downloaded an 11mb email in roughly 20-30 seconds (I have a good internet cable connection), which is more than fine. I haven't done any gaming so I can't speak to that personally. At 60$, it's a steal, even if it doesn't do N. This review was modfied by poster @ 09-24-09 09:09 AM

Linksys WRT54GL 4 Port Wireless G Broadband Router Linux Version 54MBPS 802.11G 802.11B
Cons:None that I've encountered so far.

Pros:Strong signal, Stability
Comment:
I just got this router recently seeing I found no need to really to move on to draft N at the moment. What I discovered was that, this router povides a much much stronger signal than my old dead D-Link ever did even when it was new. I also found that the signal is very stable and worked well with my wireless D-Link card in my old pc with out much configeration having to be done on the router's settings... unlike the periodical drops my dead D-Link router provided. I jsut hope that this router lasts much longer then my previouse router.PS. though one thing that did concern me for a bit there was once or twice on a comp that was connected to the router by wire experienced a disconnection for a few secs. But that was early on and haven't really noticed it ever since.
