Good product
Comment:
The number on thing I was looking for when I decided to buy enclosures was a fan. Don't let anyone fool you--you wouldn't run your computer without a fan. I've purchased 10 of these and all have worked perfectly. If you go slowly, (and don't make any stupid mistakes like I did in trying to rush) install only takes a few minutes. The hard drives are kept cool, even when left on for hours, the connection speed is good, and I've installed up to 1.5 TB drives with no problems. It's a no brainer.

Works for me!
Comment:
The package arrived quickly. My hard drive was a snug, but workable fit. Operated perfectly as soon as I turned it on. Used an IDE drive and USB interface for now and had no heat problems or any other glitches. It is now my backup system and I'm happy after disasers with some other devices NOT supplied by Tiger.

Didn't work
Comment:
Poor fit and finish. Screwdriver that was included did not fit the intended screws for case -- stripped them upon screw removal. Manual written in poor Chinglish. Barely comprehensible. Windows XP said it recognized external drive but did not list it in My Computer -- no way to connect and examine contents.

Comment:
I liked the idea of a fan assisted esata enclosure. It arrived and the box was severely smashed but the enclosure looked fine. The sata cable for inside the enclosure was missing. This retailer sent me a free sata cable that was as short as they could find. After a lot of persistence I finally got the drive and the cable inside. I turn it on with out connecting it to the computer and the blue LED turns on. I turn it off and connect the device, turn it back on and no light. The drive woks just fine, but there isn't any working indicators on the enclosure. Not sure why the blue LED will not come on when connected, and do not know what the second LED was supposed to do.

It works
Comment:
It would be better a half inch longer. I do not think that I could have crammed my IDE drive into it because of the depth of the power connector. I thus left it on top of the enclosure while I pulled data. I think that they built the case for the SATA drive with it's flatter connector and then retrofited the same unit with dual connectors. The electronics function correctly. With a little creativity you can take it apart far enough to secure a SATA drive inside it. However, for my temporary uses, I should have bought one of the cables that connects multiple drive types instead of an enclosure.

It's Everything It Was Promised To Be
Comment:
The build quality is excellent with the metal case and built-in fan. As stated, a drive fits tightly but you certainly can figure it out. I like the fact that I can switch the old IDE drive I have in it now to a newer SATA drive in the future. I really don't see how you can beat it for the price and I'm completely satisfied.

Good deal - no problems
Comment:
I give the enclosure thumbs up. Very well constructed and very simple to install hard drive. Fan keeps hard drive cool. It helps to be able to use both IDE and Sata drives it the enclosure. I rate the enclosure a 5 plus.

Such a feature filled product!
Comment:
With the ability to use IDE or SATA drives for this enclosure, it's nearly a no-brainer! It's is not the cheapest, but if you're looking at price, the quality more than makes up for this. Solid, quite and sharp design that make me think about grabbing another one! Truth be told, the only thing that may aggravate you is the assembly; a little snug with my drive, but works great!

Great deal allows
Comment:
Purchased 2 of these to connect to a computer full of drives. When connected by esata, it's just like being inside the computer, however, because of the fan, the drive stays cooler than when inside the computer case. I used to connect a 1 GB drive full of movie files hooked up by USB and shared over home wireless network with XBox360 and laptops in other rooms of house. Works great & great price.

Best enclosure under $100.00!
Comment:
Avoid the Ultra products. Get the Sabrent EC-UEIS7 enclosure. It is quiet, cool and reasonably priced. Take your time to dissemble the enclosure. The hard drive is a tight fit.

Works fine
Comment:
The enclosure works fine, but is too small for hard drive. I couldn't get the hard drive all the way inside and it is sticking out. other than that, it works great.

2 bad ones in a row
Comment:
Purchased 1st one, after less than 2 weeks, the fan made a noise when unit was turned on (sounded like a bad bearing, but the fan wasn't turning!). Could turn the unit on and off a couple of times then it was ok, but that's not good for the hard drive. This retailer sent another one right out, that one won't even power up. Not going to mess with Sabrent any more, going to try the Ultra. Not happy with the brand, but this retailer's customer service kicks butt like usual.

good choice
Comment:
the case allows you to use an old ide drive if you have one, or sata drives. i found that convenient. assembly is easy, quality is great considering the price. drive stats cool as a cucumber when running, a huge plus. only had it a month, so no idea what the long run reliability looks like. the controls are well labeled, a definite plus. you know those devices where the on off switch is not labeled? drives me nuts. but not with this case. it is everything you could want in an external case.

Comment:
I haven't figured out the eSATA. Many other reviews state that it doesn't work, or is defective. Also, trying to fit a SATA drive in there is a real tight fit. I would, however, highly recommend this enclosure to someone looking for a case for an 3.5

LED for power and Red for activity are cool too. I don't do reviews but this one is great. Low temp will definitely help service life of drive and case. Shippping fast as usual.

Don't buy this - eSata defective on many models
Comment:
I received several of this model and the eSata port didn't work on any of the models.. previous reviews from other people have said the same thing.. if you plan to use the eSata, count on it to fail.

USB Fine - eSATA Poor at best
Comment:
Instructions are terrible. The eSATA to eSATA cable included was defective. Power and data transfer lights only work if you're using USB. Once you plug the eSATA cable in the lights go out. USB Worked fine, eSATA still undetermined. I'm using a SeaGate 1 TB Drive!

Missing Cables
Comment:
Like others I use this unit primarily on the bench for extracting data from DOA machines then transfering to a new one. It works beautifully and seems to be well built and runs cool. My biggest issue was that one primary reason I chose this one over a much cheaper one is it specifically came WITH the eSATA cable(s) . The whats in the box picture clearly shows it. But unfortunately the SATA cable is NOT included so I had to make a mad dash to a local retail store and drop $21 on a cable. Which in the end made it more costly than just getting one locally.Otherwise I love the unit.
