From out of the box it was quick to set up and save data - worth the money.

I found it a little hard to get the hard drive into. however it works great. Its doubt full that this product will be made for much longer as pata drives aren't used in much any more. I am useing mine as a big flash drive.

It's cheap, you can get it to work with Vista, most of the time, and it does come in handy for repairs. If Vista gives you the ''unrecognized device'' error, try it with only one usb plug. I'd hate to have to fight it every day, but for the occasional back up job, it's OK.

I purchased this to get the data off a hard drive from my friend's computer. She had poured a cup of wine over the laptop. Unfortunately, the hard drive appears to be dead, so I can't really say how the product worked. It was everything that was advertised, appeared to be working and arrived before expected. I would assume that it would have worked, had the hard drive not been dead. This company always does a great job!

One day my laptop failed to power on due to an onboard power supply issue. This enclosure is a great way to retrieve your data from the 2.5 inch hard drive. It is easy to use and very effective. When you are done moving your data off of the drive you now have an external drive for backups.

These cases take the Hard Drives from Computers we are turning in and convert them to a replacement for the Flash drives which we can no longer use.

This is a good product for the price. I ordered this for a friend that had a dead laptop with an old IDE drive in it. They wanted the cheapest price however, if you want what I consider to be the best then purchase a NetStar enclosure. I was disappointed to discover that I had to use 2 USB ports on my PC to provide enough power for it to work. Maybe because it was an IDE drive! ? My Netstar works with only 1 USB port but it has a SATA drive in it.

Works as advertised. Its Cheap, easy to assemble and can save your butt if your laptop dies and you need to retrieve data from the drive. Instructions are TERRIBLE and the cable that comes with it should be used to tie up a garbage bag and then tossed out but the case is great and works perfectly.

i have used this to get information off of a died laptop. now it is my flash drive for movies or documents.

I bought this when my laptop died due to a broken power port. I hved a 60GB HDD which fit perfectly in the HDD Enclosure. I like the shiny black metal casing, it looks nice. it has only one LED on it which glows green when powered and red when writing. I recommend this if you want something cheap that works.

This is the second enclosure that i have purchased from your company. They work flawlessly and for 10.00 what do you expect. The only gripe I have about these is the first hard drive wiggled its way out of the pin slots because there was nothing to keep it from moving around in there, thus i inserted a strip of cardboard in there on top of the hard drive and the enclosure wall and that fixed the problem. Easy fix.

I purchased this enclosure to recover a HDD from an older T3x series think pad. Worked perfectly, the first time in Win 7 no problems. Was able to copy off all off the data at appx 30MBs. That is about the fastest I've ever had a USB HDD transfer, so the interface circuits must be pretty decent. I would recommend to anyone that wants an enclosure that works and has a s harp glossy look.

not much to say... a virus severely infected our old laptop. couldn't start in safe mode or do any kind of recovery. took the hard drive out and popped it in this enclosure. able to access needed files and saved them to my pc. haven't wiped the old drive yet but hope to soon so i can start over with the laptop, but at least i have my files i needed.

Saw others in stores for up to $50. Found this one on here for $10. Easy to mount HD, then plug in to USB and go. Never need the second USB plug for extra power. You may need to modify file permissions since the old HD was most likely created with a different user ID on a different machine, but once that's done, you're good to go. Leatherette slip on case protects glossy enclosure finish.

I bought this hard drive case because my laptop died on me and I had some important information I needed to get off of it before I tried to fix the laptop. It worked great and was a snap to install, just pop the hard drive in the case and plug it in, that's it. I wasn't able to save the laptop but I was able to get my information off of the drive. I would recommend this case to anyone. I not only saved my info, I got a external hard drive incase I need it.

I purchased this enclosure to salvage some personal data from a laptop HD that had been banged up a little by a careless user. The laptop itself would no longer complete the boot-up process, and rattling could be heard in the HD while it was running. After I placed the HD in the enclosure & connected it to my PC, Windows recognized it right away! Funny enough, I had to flip the enclosure upside down in order to access all areas of the disk(but I'm sure no one else will have that problem).
