enclosure looks good, hd mounts easily, hard drive is completely dead.

My old laptop died. DEAD. The hard drive was still viable. I was able to retrieve all the data files from it using this housing. The only down side is that it prefers to use two USB connections since there is no external power. It did function on one however. The new Dell laptop had two USB ports but they were on opposite sides of the machine. Now we can use the old drive for backup.

So far it's been a breeze to drop in a 2.5 inch drive and use it. Great product at a reasonable price. I tried to get one of these at my BB and they wanted $35 for one!

Best portible storage I have ever built for the money. Took a old 60 gig HD out of a laptop heading to the trash. Made a great back up.

Not being a computer wiz, this definitely made things easy. It's cheap, and it came with all of the necessary things needed. It even had the screwdriver I would need. It could not have been easier. I definitely recommend this enclosure!

Bought this enclosure to see if I could recover data from a hard drive that wouldn't boot. Unfortunately, I could not recover the data, but this was a small price to pay just to check. I'll have it in the future should I need it again.

Purchased to handle initialization of HDD upgrade for PowerBook Pro. Am keeping original hard drive in the enclosure for safekeeping. Works fine for this purpose. Doesn't require additional power adapter, but does require two USB ports simultaneously, so wouldn't want to use continuously - I do not intend to use regularly.

Probably a wonderful, whiz-bang device, but due to bad advice, I wound up with something that my HDD won't mate with. Too expensive to bother returning it, so I'll just give it to a grandkid or the neighborhood Computer Guy.

Assembly was easy. I had problems with windows recognizing the drive at first. After I corrected the problem it works. It is light weight and handy. No external power is required.

Upgraded my Laptop's HDD with a 250 GB and put in the old 100GB in this enclosure. Assembly was simple (Screwdriver included for assembly). Lightweight enough to fit in my jacket pocket with more storage space than a flash drive. Well worth the money.
