I own two of the Sabrent external HDs. One of them is about two years old and works flawlessly on all my OSs (Windows, OS X 10.5, and Ubuntu. The new one, however, tends to read and write (FAT32) very slowly on my Mac. Not a big deal since I own two and use the older enclosure on the Mac. Outside of that issue, the enclosure is great and worth the money and works great on Windows XP and Ubuntu.

well made, no problems. The cable is different than I expected with a full size USB at each end. Worked well and a bargain. Retail stores sell these type of enclosures for $50.

I needed a way to tranfer data to a new laptop and this worked really great. It's really good for setting up the hard drive in my laptop or just to use a small drive as a storage device.

Aluminum with plastic endcaps, fits 2.5 inch drive like a glove. USB powered, but includes Y cable for extra power if needed. LED glows green when on, red when accessed. Bought it to protect a bare 40GB IDE notebook drive I had laying around, but the enclosure makes it a handy and very useful accessory.

Well, maybe not but still very good product at a very good price. I added a 40Gb HDD from a dead Sony Vaio. Works great! You'll have to play with the file permissions to gain access to your old files but instructions were easy to find on Google. Overall happy with this purchase.

I bought this HD enclosure to use the hard drive from a computer that failed. It was extremely easy to install the hard drive into the enclosure. Very pleased with this product.

I am impressed with the enclosure as it enabled me to retreive all info on a laptop computer that was not operable. The power connector is broken and the batteries were drained. I removed the hard drive from the Lap Top and put it in the enclosure and plugged it into my computer and was able to down load all info. Thanks for the very good product.
