Does the job!

I needed a few more USB ports and I liked the way this could simplify my current rig's cables. Plugged it into the motherboard headers and I'm happy. Tiger's fast shipping is the best!

For 10 bucks this thing is great, stuck my 160 gb WD HDD from dead laptop in it and plugged into new one and it recognized instantly, can run off one usb port on my laptop, a lenovo 3000 series. The casing is durable and not likely to bend or warp. Being a $10 product it has it's cons; the connector required a good bit of force to plug into the disc, more then made me comfortable. And the screws that hold the case together stick out a bit when screwed in fully. Also the LED light flashes a ugly orange/green when loading, and the case holds fingerprint smears a little, but that's just aesthetics and not a big deal. It came with a pouch and mini screwdriver, a nice surprise considering the price. Will see how it lasts as a external portable HDD but for now I would buy again for $10.

Absolutely 100% perfect for what I needed. The guy at the store installed the hard drive for me, so I don't know about that part, but it has worked great for me. And the price was so, so right. I recommend this product to my friends.

Case was a little tight for drive. Worked great on my Vista and XP machine. Of course I know it will die out after 6 months or so. THEY ALL DO no matter the brand, price, type, etc. So buy the cheap ones and plan on replacing it.

Just got one yesterday, worked fine the first time I used it, but after I unplugged it, it refused to work. As in XP couldn't identify it and when I plug it in the little light turns red, which I assume is bad. And I think it screwed up my old 80gb hard drive...Anyways, it turned out to be a little p.o.s., but a nice paper weight.

Haven't got to test the operation/performance on higher capacity drives, but it's working great with my 20 gig drive. Overall, this enclosure is good quality, at a fair price.

I own two of these enclosures. They both work wonderfully and have endured a fair amount of punishment. I plan on buying a third.

I am very happy with my drive. It wasn't a tight fit at all once I removed the mounting screws from the hard drive. I could see how someone could try to force it in the enclosure just as the drive comes out of the laptop though. Minor quality defects don't affect performance. I would definitely recommend this product. Great deal.

Works as advertised. Not flashy. Took just a few minutes to insert my hard drive (screwdriver included). Have connected to multiple computers. No problems. Great deal for 10 bucks.

Excellent little gadget. Plugged it in and it worked like a charm (Windows XP). It has a ''cheap'' feel to it, but it works. They should add a little diagram on how to take it apart and insert the drive in it! Took me a few minutes to figure it out. Also, that ''strange'' USB cable...I still try to figure out a use for the ''extra'' plug. A second...what??? But the extra screw, made me feel better, although I could only screw one of them. Overall for $10, I'm happy!

Cheap, cheap, cheap, cheap. In this case, that's a good thing. It took about four minutes to plug in the drive, button the case up with two screws, and plug it into a USB port. What can I say? It works under both Windows XP, Vista, and Linux. Quality of the case and circuit board is good. Works exactly as advertised. It's a steal at $10.

Although I bought a Sabrent...What I received I assume is the same..the packaging is different and there isn't any branding on the case. Anywho, it worked perfectly, even had an extra screw.

10 bucks isn't too much. But the problem started immediately after I installed my old HD. 1. It is NEVER recognized by any operating system on any machine (OS's Ubuntu, XPPRO, Vista, W2K3. Machines: several laptops and several desktops HP, DELL, LENOVO, IBM). Every time I had to mount the drive. 2. Copying large files sometimes is interrupted by lazy-writer failure. (this one may be contributed to lack of power in the USB port of the particular PC). 3. Norton Ghost NEVER recognizes the drive, making it useless for backup. The build is OK. I wold say ''Nay!''

Inexpensive, simple USB hard drive case. Nothing special. Drive attaches to the internal drive connector and slides into the case. Two small screws hold the connector. Nothing fancy. Works as promised. Would like to have a little better mounting. Uses full sized USB connectors. Included case is cheesy at best. Bottom line, for $10.00, you get a barebones USB drive case.

What can I say? i have had my enclosures since February 2005. The time I arrived in IRAQ. Up until now the products still works, considering the Sand STORMS, Bumpy ROADS, EXTREAM HEAT (160F), electricity running of generators, know how those power surges are.. I needed extra HDD so I made my own external HDD, Great Products! I Bought the Segate 120GB external Drive, last year in Sept. 2007 on my way to KOSOVO, and the Segate has already failed me. I am now purchasing x's 2 IDE/PATA Enclosures, and x's 2 E/Sata. One is swap out the enclosure in the Segate HDD and one for the old Laptop HDD i onced owned. The two IDE/PATA enclosures are to replace my old ones, what can I say after a 3 yrs. those plastic tabs tend to fail bumping and moving around in my Laptop bag. GREAT PRODUCT % ACROSS THE BOARD. Hopefully My E/SATA replacements work as well as the IDE/PATA

My 2.5'' hdd from my old fried laptop would not fit into this enclosure, not sure what the deal was there. However, the endpiece that plugs into the drive and connects to the computer connected and worked just fine. So I guess it was worth the $10 I paid for it, I just wanted to pull some data off of my old laptop drive and it worked for that just fine.

I just received this drive (very fast shipping by tiger direct), and I see one huge flaw. The connector on the drive is a Type A usb connector. Making the cable that comes with the drive nonstandard. So if I ever lose the cable I can consider this drive junk. I understand that they needed a low profile, but mini B connectors satisfy this. I pretty sure they could have even fit a standard B connector if they needed the larger conductors for power. Anyway stay away from this case.

I've got 3 of these - they all work great. Great price, simple to use, quiet, cool - what else can I say? If you have a 2.5'' hard drive needing an enclosure, BUY THIS. You will not be disappointed.

I have the silver version of this drive I paid $ 29.00 for about 5 years ago when they were the ''hot'' item. Been running a 40 gig drive in it all this time using it on almost daily basis between work and home and it has NEVER missed a lick. The small screws are really no big deal specially if you put a drive in it and leave it there. I would highly reccomend this unit to anyone.

Reliable and affordable. I was surprised to see how cool and quite this little thing runs. I needed a drive for an old laptop drive. This worked nicely. The cons: the scant directions are in very poorly written english and are essentially unreadable. The ends are made of plastic and the tabs can be easily damaged if you don't know what you are doing. Which you wont when you try to read the directions.
