This thing does what it says it does at minimal cost. Easy to use. Allowed me to access and copy the data from 3 dead laptops in the basement, before pounding their harddrives to death for disposal. I managed to snap off the plastic tabs for the end pieces immediately, which limits its use as a portable USB hard drive, but for my needs it was great.

These are no frills aluminum enclosures that get five starts across the board for the cost, but on an objective scale, they are obviously not the Cadillac of enclosures. However, so long as you are not drop testing your drives, these are work just fine.

When my laptop died, this product helped me access the old hard drive to rescue all my data. Whew. Snapping the top onto the enclosure requires more force than you think. Keep at it.

Got this so that I could access my harddrive from old laptop which died after 3 1/2 years of valiant service. Now I can get to files I thought were lost. Was easy to figure out how to put drive in and hook things up.

I hunted a long time for a good inexpensive laptop harddrive case after a friend of mine accidently broke his laptop. This was one of the best cases that I seen that was in their price range. The shipping was fast and the harddrive slipped right in to the case without any problems and now they have an external harddrive to backup their business software.

Why pay $30 at retailers? This does exactly what it says it will. Nothing more. The only issue I had was that the back panel doesn't fit back on once my Hitachi Travelstar was inserted. Maybe that won't be the case for all models.

This is a great deal and has saved me endless frustration. If you have an old laptop drive lying around just plug it in and start using it to back up all the important stuff, you'll be glad you did.

I bought this product to make use of an extra laptop hard drive. Package arrived very quickly and was up and running with 5 minutes of opening. Worked as advertised. I would recommend this product.

Product works fine, price is great, serive / delivery was quick. Only one problem, when the disc drive is inserted the end-cap doesn't fit. It is impossible to jam the tab into the hole, so I cut it off and it works fine.

It was really easy to use. The quality of the enclosure might not be 100% but it worked really well. In the end its a great bargain for the price.

This will go in your shirt pocket, its so small! Twin-headed USB, power light, and nice things like extra screws and a screwdriver make this a winner. My only moment of doubt was wondering whether the drive would go in! It did, and works fine. Definitely recommended.

I tried 2 different HDs, one from a Micron laptop and one from a Dell Inspiron. Neither one would go in the enclosure.

This was exactly what I was looking for. My laptop needed the mother-board replaced, which was going to cost almost as much as a new computer. So, I bought a new laptop and used this to retrieve my data. It was perfect. Thanks to the reviews on this site I was able to make the decision to purchase this item. The price was amazing. Other sites had similar products, but were much more costly.

I put my old laptop harddrive in the enclosure, plugged in both usb cables and it worked right away. I am running Windows Vista Home and it installed the correct drivers for me and everything. I was viewing contents of my old hardrive in a matter of minutes!!! Bought another for a friend of mine who had a SATA connection. worked just as slick!

Upgraded the laptop HD and now we use this as an external storage and BU unit. Works great!

It works well and I really like it. If its not on the new HD its on the old one and its very simple to plug it in and retrieve it.
