I must say I had a bad experience with it & Tiger was great about the RMA & Refund. But, after reading so many positives, and it being $10 cheaper at under $30, I guess I'll assume I got a lemon & give them another shot.

For the price, you just can't beat it. It reads my Seagate 1.5TB HD without breaking a sweat. Had it for over a month now, not 1 issue.

What can be said, other than it works as advertised. Purchased as a means of adding storage to my Dell XPS notebook it was up and running in a matter of minutes with no problems at all. I am using it with the 320GB 2.5'' drive that was OE in my computer.

This device is probably the best PC storage purchase I've ever made. It's fast, quiet, so easy to use, and about as inexpensive as an external enclosure. I now have 3TB of external storage, just have to keep an index. When I need more, I just buy a drive and pop it in. Awesome!

Bought this so that I can copy files and clone hard drives for myself and friends. I have used it quite a bit already and it has always worked like a charm. Windows xp has no trouble seeing it.

This is the greatest piece of PC equipment I have seen in a while I have at least 8 hard drives and with this little baby I can add more with out having add more external, I have a anti stat storage file where I keep all my hard drives. They are filed by letter. When ever I need one I take it out and place in this baby. Reads and writes like a dream. Back ups are smooth. I have one of these for each of my PC's I wouldn't want to be with out it.

This has to be the best item i have purchased so far. My seagate usb powered hard disk is to small and this lets me use 1000 GB hard disks. I have bought a 1000 GB hard disk with it, but didn't test it yet as i am using this with my 250 gb sata drive. Nice Buy!!

As a computer software/hardware specialist, I absolutely love this dock. I got this dock as a solution instead of buying external enclosures or even cable kits to recover data from old SATA Drives. Every drive I have put in was detected. I just recently bought a 750GB drive and it even was detected without a hitch. It has a power button and can be powered off and on when needed to save the life of your drives. I now use it for external storage as well and I can hot swap drives depending on what I am working with at the time. Drives stay cool enough and I suppose that if you do not place the unit in direct sunlight or place anything on or around it to block airflow then you won't have any issues with heat. Great product for the price! Highly recommended. Thermaltake makes quality products that work. Even my Thermaltake ATX case will used again for my next major system board upgrade!

Ingenious device. I have lost everything on 4 dedicated internals so far (overheating?). Now I have 4 of these beauties. Backups are easy. Hard drives are WAY cheaper than Blu-ray, and even USB 2.0 is faster than any optical drive. VERY highly recommended. I use one attached to a DivX DVD player's USB port (Phillips DV-400V)...very convenient (need to format drive fat32). Don't hesitate....get one...or more.

I got this unit to test a 500GB WD SATA drive that was in a dedicated external unit that had failed. Tried to fix the original unit before this purchase but failed. As soon as I plugged the drive into this unit, it started right up and all the files I thought I had lost were accessible again. I'm currently in the process of transferring all my files stored on ATA-100 drives to the new 1TB SATA I just purchased. No more dedicated external HDs for me.

I bought this unit with a Western Digital 640 to store my cartoons collection. The unit despite the arguable layout of button and port locations works great. Windows XP Pro recognized the Dock instantly and allowed me to manage and set up the drive itself quickly. I'm pleased enough to consider buying a second unit for my son.

Comment:
Purchased with a 500 Gig WD SATA drive. Followed the guide and Vista had the drive mounted and quick formatted in less than 5 minutes. Transferred a batch of video files, 21 GB took about 11 minutes. Seems to be well made and easy to use. I'm converting a bunch of old home VHS to DVD and want to keep an archive on a hard drive also. If I fill up the drive, I just need to buy another drive and pop it in.

Thermaltake N0028USU External Enclosure
Cons:no protective cover

Pros:3.5 and 2.5 Sata
Comment:
This product allows very easy mounting of both 3.5 and 2.5 Sata hard drives. I would consider it a must have for any transfer file. In some cases it can even be considered a good replacement for external drive. Very good product.

Thermaltake N0028USU External Enclosure
Cons:drives are a bit loose inside

Pros:Hot Swappable.e-sata connection.
Comment:
I bought this to serve as a back up device for my home network. This way I just label a SATA drive with the PC name on it and swap out the drives. I use the e-sata connector and the speed is far superior over standard USB. Backups are a breeze. It's also a huge plus to not have some bulky heat causing enclosure around your drive.Like a few other reviewers noted, the drive is only held in place by the actual SATA connection. This isn't normally a big deal, but different drive manufactures are off just enough in size to make them feel "loose" in the cradle.Overall, this is a great backup solution if you swap HDs alot.

Thermaltake N0028USU External Enclosure
Cons:Drive gets hot after a whileEject takes some force to workPower cable very short

Pros:SturdyEasy to use and set up
Comment:
Better than enclosures since you can swap out hard drives with a push of a button. Nice blue LED for the power/activity light. It's a little on the bulky side compared to my Antec drive enclosure. One thing I didn't like was the power cable is very short. It barely made it from the ground power bar to to top of my table.

Cons:- Disk ejector cannot eject the disk by itself, you need to help by pulling the disk by hand a bit.

Pros:- Got it on sale- Made strong- Work really well
Comment:
I really like this unit. I t work really well and the cradle is well designed and build solid. I recommend this to people that have many Sata hard disk and need to do backup or disk recovery like Symantec Ghost. Thanks

Thermaltake N0028USU External Enclosure
Cons:Price dropped by $5 day after I received it.Standing drive support (see summary)

Pros:Supports large 2.5/3.5" SATA drives
Comment:
Great if you have a spare drive lying around. You need to be careful though because the drive is only held in place by the SATA connector, (for 2.5" drives anyways) so be careful you don't bump it hard lest it fall, if so you might be minus a docking station and drive. For this I'm giving it a 3, otherwise it's a great product.

Cons:drive can get hot

Pros:Works reliably.
Comment:
Glad I bought this. Great for mounting drives for data transfers, fixing, etc. Drive can get quite hot if left in for a while. Probably because the heat can't dissipate.

Cons:None I can think of

Pros:Small and easy to take to job site/work areaGreat transfer speeds over e-Sata
Comment:
I bought the e-Sata/USB2 version of this and I love it, such an amazing little tool. I initially just wanted it for working with one of my 500gb drives, but I've since left my laptop's 160gb drive in it for extra storage (the laptop now boots of Slax on a 2gb memory card, lol).Awesome device, easy to use, looks great and doesn't crowd your desk.

Cons:no ATA support, expensive

Pros:works fine with my harddrivers
Comment:
I found the same model 10$ less o other store, I got ripped off here o ncix.com so I suggest checking prices elsewhere before buying here. The product itself works great, I didn'T need the e-sata so this drive was great for me even though it only have usb, that's what I needed.Pretty expensive here, but well worth it if you have many HDs or do a lot of computer reparation.

One can store 10 terabytes in a shoebox with this gadget. Excellent for HDTV movie collections where 5GB is easily consumed for each 720p resolution movie. Even better, the drives spin only when the movie is being played, such that the drives might last a decade or more with infrequent use. Note: If one were to put 10 terabytes or 20 x 500GB drives in a single server cabinet spinning continuously, the heat and power would be astonomical. I'd like to see a block that accomodated 2 SATA drives at once, so you could make copies. Right now, you need 2 such blocks to make copies. They should also offer plastic covers for drives to protect the circuitry on the drives during handling I made my own.
