Thermaltake N0028USU External Enclosure
Cons: USB=SLOW

Pros: Looks cool, AWESOME tool
Comment:
Always wanted one and now that I have it, I can't stop using it! Had a 500GB Win7 Ultimate drive go down (was dual booting from another 500GB w/XP Pro) and nothing would even see this drive until I dropped it in the dock! Recovered all of my files without hastleThermaltake, you've done me right once again!

Comment:
Remarkably simple product to use and work with. I've had no problems getting it to work and was able to retrieve the information I needed off the crashed OS hard drive. I didn't rate the quality at a 5 because its made from a lightweight plastic but no lower than a 4 because it works. Great buy.

Thermaltake N0028USU External Enclosure
Cons: The LED on the front looks like the power button

Pros: Does what it's supposed to do
Comment:
Like others have said, this unit does what it's supposed to do. Easy to insert/extract the HD.Only issue I had was the LED on the front looks like the power button. SO I pushed it. Nothing. Only now the LED is pushed into the unit.It still works but, well it shouldn't look like a button IMO.I'd get this unit again.

Wow was this easy
Comment:
Bought the N0028USU with 2 WD3200BEKT drives. Upgraded to larger capacity; faster speed. This unit along with Acronis True Image Home software made duplicating my original drives a breeze. The hardest part was making Windows see the new drive to start the process.

not the best , only works for a short time.
Comment:
I bought one of these pieces of scrap metal about a year ago . and its shot already the pc will recognize the hardware and install it , but the black x box is shot the drive fits in so loose it wont seat good enuff to let the pc read it. It came with a 3 yr warranty from thermal x but try to collect on it. Ill stick to enclosures.

Worked fine
Comment:
I use it to scan hard drives from other PC's & laptops for viruses & spyware. It seemed kind of slow scanning but it does the job and it's quick & easy to set up & install the drives.

Amazing! Was able to retrieve everything from my internal HDD from the old PC that died. Now I use it as an additional HDD! I'd be all over for the next one with USB 3.0 support.

Great Deal, Perfect personal PC for light duty
Comment:
The title says it all! Pros: low price, small size, very quiet, low power usage, XP pre-installed, HDMI output, 6 usb ports. Cons: Lots of bloatware to remove, odd shape, 3.5mm jack in front, no built in DVD drive. I wish this box was around a year ago when my mom needed a new PC. Can't wait to get my first electric bill.

Thermaltake N0028USU External Enclosure
Cons: poor cooling, seems to be overheating catches dust

Pros: looks good, works, compact
Comment:
I don't like this one. My WD 1.5TB green (WD15EADS) was overheating in this thing..I got my rebate, but I've barely used this thing, as I'm afraid my hard drive will overheat. Use it with caution. I wouldn't trust it with an important hard drive.Speed is decent though. I haven't tried it on a 2.5" drive, just 3.5". It's a nice idea, but it would've been better if they could provide some radiator or a fan somehow..

Works like expected
Comment:
The dock works great for viewing any previously formatted disk space. Keep in mind the interface is SATA. I use it to view customers HD's and as an external HD for my computer with the extra drive I had laying around. Dock what you need and then swap them out. The power LED on the top looked like the Power button. Should have read the instructions first. Don't push it! It is flimsy. Opened it up and saw the LED is installed with something like hot glue (Gorilla Stuff NOW), Otherwise the rest of the design is sturdy, and weighted to be stable. Go ahead and get it. They should have integrated the Power LED and Power button to eliminate confused overworked hardheads like me.

I purchased a bargain dock and it failed to recognize any drives when I connected it to my PC running XP Pro. I purchased this dock and it performed flawlessly. It reformatted my drive and I am now using it to transfer files to a replacement PC I also purchased from here.

Solid Product
Comment:
As expected from Thermaltake this is a great product. Of course it has to be a bare drive that you insert but that is the whole purpose of this product. It works really well and is a must for all technicians or if you just want to back up you files on another drive quickly.

This device works just as described and has turned what I thought was a dead My book hard drive into a fully functional 1 TB external drive. I love this toaster looking thing!! Easy to use, just slide the hard drive in and turn it on. Works perfect with My Vista laptop. Thank you for such a wonderful product.

Thermaltake N0028USU External Enclosure
Cons:For the price, e-sata would have been nice. Activity LED shaped like a button.

Pros:Functions as one would expect. Good, somewhat portable device for transferring files around.
Comment:
It works as advertized. If it were me, I don't think I would have put the power button around back... and/or shape the LED like a button! Through my own stupidity (without reading and previous reviews or manual) I just assumed the circular button shaped thing was the power. I pushed twice on it and the second time dislodged it so now it sits crookedly.I can't fault the product's construction for that but I can fault its design. Maybe it's just me but even knowing where the power button is now, I'm still drawn to the oval on the top lol. That aside, I find that hard drives don't always seat themselves the first time they're inserted. It can require a little fiddling/re-adjusting. Again, not sure if a better guide could have helped in this regard. Other than those gripes, if I had bought this at regular price I would have loved to see e-sata on there. But at the sale price I find it perfectly acceptable that it doesn't. It functions great and I see it being a good addition to my drive-reading arsenal. It's by far the quickest for swapping out drives on a whim.

I have been able to recover all the data on the 2 hard disks which were in my PC with a defective motherboard. I'm also impressed by the access speed. Great product at an inexpensive cost

Ridiculously useful
Comment:
Now I don't have to buy an enclosure for every drive I replace from my computers, desktop or laptop. I essentially have 500 GB thumb drives, now. It works great with no problems whatsoever. Only complaint is the 1 TB max HD capacity, although I haven't tested it as my largest drives are 1 TB.
