Purchased this dock to clone my MacBook HD onto a new HD. It worked straight out of the box. I was successful in upgrading my HD and the cloned worked. My MacBook booted up as no changes were made. So the dock worked! That was a 2.5" HD, I have not tried a 3.5" HD on the dock. I assumed it would work equally as well.

I bought mine about 1 year ago locally and paid about $50 CAD. It was a super deal then, and at this price it is a STEAL. I have 5 Vantec Nexstar external esata cases, all good, but when I saw this item, it was a space & time saver and also could handle my 2.5" laptop drive, my new SSD drives, and has been perfect with all, including up to 1.5TB drives (haven't tried bigger yet) All in all, awesome. quality is amazing, not cheap plastic junk... solid unit and great at any price.

This product is rock solid. It works flawlessly all the time, I never had to reboot or download drivers, nothing. You won't find another product like this one period.

This product is easy to use and very helpful when backing up your main hard drive or just for having an additional hard drive for more space. It is compact and user friendly.

This product is exactly as described and operated flawlessly. the only drawback is that the power button is on the back of the unit. Other than that I wuld recommend this to anyone who needs to swap drives quickly and doesn't mind the lower thhroughput of USB (vs eSATA model).

This item works great and is a quality piece of equipment. I highly recommend it for anyone who swaps out and works with serial drives. If you have an external eSATA port, make sure you get the next version up to take advantage of the serial speed. This item is excellent.

Works as advertised. I have no problems with hot swaps and instantly worked with my 1.5TB drive (also purchased here). Has no heating issues as most of the HD is exposed (and also its not a raptor 10,000rpm drive). I'm considering picking up a second!

Quite happy with this device. Bought a 1GB drive to relieve a taxed internal drive on my laptop and found it performs faster than he internal. I use it for ripping video from DV tape, and also for creating my own ixed videos for family hostory documentation. I broke the spring-loaded flap immediately upon opening it...not the engineer's fault, really, but I expect it should be able to handle a bit more use. No matter--it is purely cosmetic and not part of the function of the device at all, especially since I'm using the large drive.

Great Product. Works great with my 2.5 and my 1T 3.5 Sata's. Haven't tried a 1.5T yet but other reviewers say it works. Hot swap functionality is great. Power button could have been more conveniently placed on the front... none the less great $30.00 product.

By far the simplest way to connect an external hard drive--no enclosure to open when you want to change drives, no cords, connectors, or adapters to keep up with--simply insert the drive and work away. I've used it without incident on both 3" & 2" drives.

This is absolutely sweet! I use mine with two 1TB drives. I store digital video and high-resolution graphic files on one drive, and use the second drive as a backup for desktop and laptop. It runs quiet, performs great, and I have the envy of all my co-workers.
