Ultra USB 2.0 to IDE/SATA Cable Adapter

I bought this product to retrieve data from several old hard drives I have. It did not work on sata when I first tried it because the mfr. put too many sharp bends in the sata cable and it was broken internally. After I replaced the sata cable it worked perfectly. The only other con I have is the ide connector end of the power adapter is sloppy and you must hold the shell and tweak wires to plug it into your device. Overall, it is an excellent product for the price.

I have had this for a short time now and used it a few times. I had a few old IDE hard drives laying here and there and thought I would give them a try. They were of different size and use. All were recognized and formatted easily. I use one larger for backing up (something I had not done before and got burned). I plugged in to both a Vista laptop and XP desktop with ease. I recommend this product.

I had an old drive I needed to retrieve some stuff off of but it was a Laptop Hard drive and all I had were desktops but once I got this puppy I had access again

I do a lot of new system deployment for work and need to transfer the users data from the old system to new. So instead of copying the data to an external harddrive first and then back on to the new system I use this drive adapter, connect the old drive, transfer the data and finish up twice as fast. A little cheaply made but has long as you don't drop it and step on it you're good. Over all, I am very pleased with this product.

It shipped and took 1 day to get here standard shipping. The power adapter for SATA is kinda cheap and so is the USB device, but it won't break unless your rough with it. good product just made in china :D

I have used this to attach hard drives to my system for virus scans as well as data recovery. This makes adding a drive painless! It has worked well with any drive I have used so far and you never have to open the case. I had a customer with a dead laptop and no way to try and recover photos so I decided to give this product a try. It paid for it self first time out of the box! I am curious as to how well it will stand up to use over time as does not appear to be made from very heavy stuff but so far flawless!

I do a lot of repair work on machines that have computer controllers. This device is a big time-saver when wanting to clone a drive or if you just want to copy files from a drive to another PC. For anyone that works with HDs, I would highly recommend this part.

Got this product a few days ago, basically to get pictures off of old hard drives on old computers that no longer work or are outdated. One hard drive was to badly damaged but two others booted right up and allowed me to get some old photos that I never backed up and I thought were lost forever. One was an old 8 gig hard drive that I never thought that I would use up that much space. Well, I now have over 2 terrabytes on external hard drives just to back up stuff. But this was an exceptional value that worked exceptionally well. I highly recommend it!

This product will let you access most hard drives as if they were a usb mass storage device! The only exception I have found is on very old drives where the formatting is not compatible with my current system. Excellent value for the money spent. It paid for itself with the first lot of information I was able to retrieve! USB Cable could have been longer!

I've used this on all kinds of drives and had no problems whatsoever. Does exactly what it says it will do and saved me a ton of time and effort getting info from some of my old drives. Only problem was the power cable disconnecting from the adapter. I ended up using one of my old cables to solve that problem. Had lots of them hanging around so was no big deal for me. Might only have been that one cable out of a thousand, who knows?

This is a good product, but cheaply made. The problem I had is with the power connector for the SATA cable. It connects to the main power cord with a plastic interface that has four contact points. The connection points were so loose in the plastic housing that it would not insert into the main power cord. I ended up just removing the plastic housing and inserting the four connection points individually... just make sure you remember which order they go in. It's probably a bit of a fire hazard now, but it works.

I am totally pleased with my purchase. I have not had the opportunity to use it a great deal but on the occasions that I have, it has performed without a problem. I am using it to read a hard drive from an old disabled computer, otherwise I would have not been able to retrieve that data and it would have been lost to me.

This device makes complicated tasks easy. I have many types of drives and testing them as well as removing and formatting hard drives is made much easier with this adapter.

Easy to use, without any assembly you can attach the drive of your old PC or laptop to transfer the content. Also perfect for backup.

This is the best external device ive used it suports mor drives than most and its not an enclosur so u dont have to worry about heat unles your house is an oven. You can just hook it to ur drive and put it on your desk and set a fan to blow on the drive. If your pc has a top fan like mine just set the drive on top of your pc and it stays nice and cool. Works greate.

It worked just fine. IDE power cable connector is a little weak (cables come out when pushing it in or pulling out) but worked fine also despite that weakness.
