Ultra USB 2.0 to IDE/SATA Cable Adapter

Does everything its supposed to. I've used it on SATA and ATA drives with no problems in Windows 7.

The minute I received this product, I was using it to recovery corrupt laptop hard drives. Clean and repaire infected hard drives that you were not able to log into with out the virus taking over the system.

I managed to corrupt my hard drive driver when a virus attacked my laptop for work... My computer kept rebooting over and over... So now what? I picked up one of these and plugged the laptop hard drive into my desktop USB port, no problems. Copied a driver from my desktop into the windows driver folder on the laptop hard drive, and it booted up normally when I reinstalled it... Yahoo!!!!

My mother board died on my desktop computer and I needed to access files off of the hard drive. This product was quick and easy to use with no problems.

Nice product for what I needed. The only issue I had was I needed to mount the drive. Once the drive was mounted and recognized it was an easy process to copy the data.

This product is a must to have on hand! I've buy this connector since my laptop motherboard die, using it to recover the datas stored on my HD until the unit back from repair. It's small, handy, reliable and works well as it's REALY PLUG and PLAY!

The price may be within reason however the quality and craftmanship is poor. The power supply necessary for SATA drives blew after one use. If you do not need the power source for the SATA hardware then all else woks as advertised.

This was a gift for a friend that had some old IDE drives from an old computer. He still had some things on that he wanted to transfer to his new computer. I was told that it was simple to use and worked like a charm. This is something that I would consider picking up in the near future.

This worked as good as I hoped. I had several older hard drives laying around and I didn't want to throw them away without knowing what was on them like important numbers. I also didn't want to open up my computer deal with that hassle. I found data that I needed: this unit was very convienient and well worth the money.

The HDD in my system built back in 2001, finally gave up the ghost. It had so many bad segments that my Windows 2000 was corrupted, and it would not boot any more. Even though I had most of the data backed up, there were still some critical files that were newer than my most recent backup. I purchased this adapter and was able to recover eveything that I needed. It was WELL WORTH THE PRICE and did just what I needed it to do. Saved me mooch-o denero over what it would have cost me to have the files recovered for me by a tech company. I am very happy with this!

I like this product for its versatility and ease of use. I was able to upgrade my daughter's laptop HD from 200gb to 500gb. I believe the versatility could be improved if there were a piece to allow the USB plug to function as both male and female.

Easy to use . A must for the recuperation of data or for archiving photos or data on older IDE HDD ( using it as external hard disk )

I could not get this to work. Apparently it only works under Windows XP which is pathetic. If they can get it to work under XP, they should also be able to get it to work under Windows 2000 Pro at the very least. It would be nice if Ultra were to be more upfront and honest and say it ONLY works for XP and NOTHING else. No mention of this is on the package or even in the manual. I wasted my money on this and can't return as I don't know where my receipt is.

I purchased this product so I could replace my notebook drive with a much larger one. Everything needed was included in the package. The cable will be used whenever I want to clone another drive.

I bought this so I can use anything with SATA-IDE interface through a USB port. Works great. Transfers data faster, much faster, than my external hard drive. This was done with a HDD which, by benchmark, is slower than my external HDD.

This product worked to save my inforation off 4 3.5 harddrives. Doesn't matter if it is a Maxtor, WD, or Seagate, it works as long as there is not a problem with the hard drive itself.

Except for the limitations, this little thing has come in real handy. I wish I could tell you all the ways it has helped me. Most people won't need it, but if you know your way around the inside of a computer and you build or fix your own, this tool is excellent.

I bought one of these that was just ide and since didn't have a sata drive that needed to be hooked up at the time it sufficed. when the power card went out on my external hard drive I took it apart to find that it was sata. bought this and hooked it up and was able to access the info that would have lost by sending it back in to be

I found a similar item for less $'s, but still this works as expected and is fast and simple. I have 10 hard drives kicking around and this makes it sooo easy to test and use them.
