Ultra USB 2.0 to IDE/SATA Cable Adapter

Just got the adapter pluged it in got the stuff i NEEDED of my dead computer couldnt be more thrilled its great the only thing i had a problem with was the power adapter for the hard drive it pretty poor quality but you get what you pay for and the price is still a steal!

I tried the device on several hard drives I had laying around and most of them were readable. Also tried it on a cdrom and it worked perfectly.

Most useful to me it allows me to start my system up via usb and run linux UNBUNTU and METIS and works as if it were internal.

Old e-machine mother board died, didn't want to lose wedding pics and docs from past 7 years. This cable was shipped ground with estimated delivery of 4 days, got it in 2! For those wondering if it will work with Vista, all I had to do was make sure the jumpers were configured for master,(did this by pulling the old HDD, getting its info to search the manufactor's site for the drive's manual),connect the IDE, power, and USB to my old drive and Vista did the rest!!!! Money VERY well spent!!!

I bought this because I was having a problem with a hard drive and could not boor up my computer. Was not sure where the problem was. I instaled the hard drive externaly and imediatly found that the new hard drive was defective. Saved me days of messing around worth every penny of the purchase price. It is small and you can use many different drives as external or add on drives. Great Product.

I have read previous reviews and don't understand how anyone can insert the molex power connector the wrong way, it can only go in one way unless it was forced in. I got this purposely so I can format a laptop hard drive. It worked flawlessy. Great Product, works just as advertised.

I had the same experience as a previous review, I fried a dvd drive by plugging in the power plug to the dvd drive upside down. I have a few extra dvd drives, so it wasn't too big of a deal, but after that, it worked great and saved me the cost of a $100+ external drive. I do recommend this product, but make sure you follow the directions and pay attention to the plugs.

As an IT professional, this thing is fantastic!! no more tearing things apart to try and get data off a device, pop out the drive attach the adapter, done. Can't be any easier. The drive connector itself is a little on the flimsy side (just a little) just be gentle attaching to IDE drives and its fine, the SATA is perfect as the connectors are small. Great buy, I recommend this to anyone who wants to rescue data off a disk.

As an IT Administrator, this thing is my best friend. It can actually read multiple drives at a time (at least 1 SATA and 1 IDE, not that it could be particularly useful due to the shared transfer). I have had a couple of 2.5 inch IDE drives that required a bit more power than this thing was able to give through the USB though.

I recommend this to anyone that has ever had his laptop crash and needed to get the data of the hard drive, this product saved me time and money doing it this way, it was worth every penny. The shape i received the item looked like it was used once before, so i was skeptical if it would even work correctly, but it worked perfectly and i am glad to have purchased this item from tigerdirect.com thanks guys you saved me once again.

Amazing! I love this thing!! I was really impressed how easy this was to use & so simple! I normally do computer imaging as I'm a part of a corporate IT department. This makes my life so much easier. The only thing I could want extra would be an on/off switch on the power supply. But that is a small price to pay for how great this thing is.

I HAVE THIS PRODUCT FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS AND IS EXCELLENT I USED TO REINSTALL WINXP IN A LAPTOP JUST PLUG AN INTERNAL CD IN THE 3.5 IDE CONNECTOR( THE SAME FOR THE HDD ) AND VOILA YOU'LL BE ABLE TO USE IT AS EXTERNAL CD/DVD. AWESOME

This appears to be a relatively simple item, but even so, I'm always impressed when a product actually does what it claims to do. This is a handy item to have. Ive finally cleaned out my closet full of old computers that I was hesitant to discard because I wasnt sure what was on the hard drives. Good item; good price; incredibly fast shipping!

Can you say ''Flawlesss''? I have several and use them on the job at least weekly. Works perfect on all HDDs and CD / DVD drives. The reviewer that indicated it wouldn't work with the included P/S must have a defective P/S, all mine work as advertised. For the reviewer that had to set to C/S, that's a fault of the old drive, not the USB IDE device.

I had an old IDE drive I wanted to use (temporarily) as USB 2.0. The kit worked perfectly, except that I had to set the drive to 'cable select,' where the instructions said to use 'master.'

Just purchased this item from tiger direct. Very nice piece of equipment. Well made, straight- forward instructions simple to understand and operate. Worked perfectly the first time. Good purchase and well worth the price.
