Ultra USB 2.0 to IDE/SATA Cable Adapter

A friend brought me a computer with 12 different virus and trojan horses. I was able to hook his hard drive to my computer and scan and remove all the virus and trojan horses.

This works just like it should and is a great alternative to an external case. I've used it for about 10 different drives already and I've had no trouble reading any of them, both EIDE and SATA. My only complaint is that it's rather cheaply made. The connectors on the unit were skewed in the housing and the EIDE power cable's pins were bent and had to be straightened before I could use it. Other than that it works great! I just use it very gently as I want it to last. One other thing, toss the power cable that plugs into the power converter. It's so cheap that you can hear it popping and arcing in the cable case. Just use an old PC power cord you have laying around and it will work just fine.

It is a great product! Works great just one little down side, the power adapter for sata hard drives is not durable at all. I had to unplug it twice working with multiple drives and two of the pins pushed out with little effort at all. It makes working with any hard drive a breeze, and I will buy another if I find a need to!

The box had been opened. All of the twist ties were off the cables. I could not get my computer to see any of the HDD that I wanted to test and it would not see the new drive that I orderd at the same time. I have had some pressing bussiness and havn't had the time to deal with the lengthly prosses of exchanging the product. Right now I am not a happy customer.

I'm a softeware, not hardware, guy so I was a little concerned with using the product. Instructions could be more detailed but I managed to figure it out without screwing up any drives.

Wow, this Adapter is Great. I was able to go through all my old hard drives in a short amount of time, retrieve my documents and photo's from them. I would recommend this to anyone who work on there own computers

Windows 7 can cause it to lock up when ejected. Simple fix plug it in and eject it again. I use it all the time. Better than any Hard case unit I have owned.

I use this with a Blu-Ray burner and it works wonderfully!

This is exactly the tool necessary to use some of those old HDDs as aditional storage. I have also been able to use it to gain access to a drive that will not boot up in regular or safe mode due to virusii or other malware. I can then cleanup the drive and we are back in business.

I used this to wipe a couple of IDE drives before disposal. Easy to set up and use. Works as advertised. No problems so far.

I like the ease of use for this product, the multitude of drives it can handle is pretty nice. I have to say that the cables are a bit unruly.

This product did work right out of the box - on the first drive I used it with. Have had issues with other drives - doesn't always recognize drives. Don't like the fact that there is not a power switch on the pwoer supply (Cant just turn it off, connect the drive, turn it on is...) you have to actually un plug it which makes me a little nervous hooking up drives. I'll be replacing this with an external chassis or maybe one of the docks that I've seen. I've used the chassis many times and they work fantastic - not sure about the docks though. Live and Learn...

Great value for what you get. I was able to easily recover data on an old drive. I was also able to computer management tool to format and reconfigure a drive that I thought was dead. This saved me almost 100.00. This little guy paid for itself in it's first day at my house! This site's shipping was quick, as usual. No complaints. These guys are at the top of my favorites list.

Have only used this on 3 IDE drives, but seems to work as advertised. Hookup needs to be done in the proper order to get the computer to recognise the drive. Have only had this product a short time.

I originally purchased this product to clone my old HD to my new HD. Ultra misrepresents their product stating it's for 2.5 in HD. When I powered it up with the provided power supply, it fried my new HD. I do not recommend purchasing this. They misrepresent their power supply, and their Support people are very customer unfriendly, and non responsive to the needs of customers, and does not address all issues.
