Great Product!
Comment:
This does exactly what it should. It was affordable, and so far I have nothing but good things to say. Used it on 2 hard drives already and I couldnt be happier with the product. Thanks!

works very well and exactly what I was looking for
Comment:
I have used this adapter on older laptop IDE drives, as well as both full size and laptop SATA drives. It has worked exactly as expected, most of the time 5 to 10X faster than any other of this type of interface that I have been using. It's definitely a keeper and I would highly recommend it for others.

It Works!!

Really good product. Just formatted a 1TB drive then copied 344GB to it. This thing really handles itself well. No regrets.

Buy it - it works!

My daughter's old computer self distructed, but I was able to use this product to recover all of her files from her three drives: one parallel ATA and two serial ATA. It was easy and worked like a charm. Buy it - it works!

It does what it's supposed to
Comment:
I have used them before so it's not a big invention or anything but for the money and the fact that you can hook any typical drive to it it's nice. I use mine with a cisco router and a hitachi Tera HDD I also ordered and created a NAS for my ps3 to host all my video's and music. Hook the hard drive to the usb slot in the router and bang PS3 sees it as a server. External Hard drive would have done the same thing but with this cable i'm not limited to undoing a box or moving a cradle. BUY IT.

Excellent concept gadgit extremely useful
Comment:
I used a friends and loved it so I bought one. His is starting to get loose only after a few uses, but the thing is so useful I could not pass up for the price. I believe if you were to rig it to a stable base that also supported the side connections when used it would help or just get the lifetime warranty problem solved.

A great solution

I needed this tool to gain access to files off of a crashed laptop, and it worked perfectly the first time. I now use it to hook up to drives to backup my system. It's fast, convenient, and more versatile than the docking stations I paid more money for. Fits conveniently in my backpack. I carry it everywhere now.

Works great. Poor workmanship
Comment:
Works great and easy to use. Quick transfer speeds. IDE conector on the Sata IDE jumper was really poor. The terminals were loose and floppy. T.D. replace complete unit. The same connection on the replacement wasn't much better.

Excellent tool
Comment:
Does what it claims, simply, easily and without drama. Technical support is the top notch. And for transferring file from one /computer to another, it beats hell out of the MS USB/USB setup that cost something like $60and does what I imagine is the same thing.

Great idea, product quality suffers
Comment:
This is a useful tool to have on hand, however, the HD connector end of mine fell apart after connecting it two or three times. I have been playing with computer guts for about 30 years, so I am pretty familiar with handling stuff. This just simply fell apart. It is still usable, but very frustrating that the shell was shoddy quality. I'll probably just crazy-glue it and hope it holds up a while longer. Otherwise convenient application for short-term access when needed.

Buy this thing :-)
Comment:
Works just like it should. I have several older computers I bought used and retired. I was able to connect the hard drives and see what was left on them, keep what I wanted and use a program to completely wipe them clean of acc't numbers, etc. Now I can either keep or dispose of them knowing nothing is on there. It takes a good program to write over any information on them but they are now clean.

This kit was great! I used to use 3 different kits that I had opened up so that I can switch out drives easily. This replaced all three and it works great. No issues at all and drives are picked up right away.

Great buy, works like a charm!
Comment:
We had previously purchased another brand with a silver-coloured USB cable, and that one never worked right; it took a lot of work to get it eventually working. However, the Ultra has not even blinked: it works right with both IDE and SATA immediately! This is a great tool for backup, recovery, cloning, etc. and pays for itself right away!

Great Product
Comment:
A simple product that worked well for my 2.5" SATA harddrive. The 2.5" SATA drive used every adapter wire that came with the unit. The harddrive plugged into the red SATA cable, then into the plastic adapter, then into the USB port. The power for the harddrive came from the included external power supply through an adapter cable and then into the power connection of the 2.5" harddrive. Once wired my WinXP setup recognized the USB harddrive without loading a driver. A complete harddrive backup (about 110 Gb) completed in a little less than one hour.

Finally got the opportunity to use this while hubby was in a store... hopped on my netbook, and plugged it in so that I would keep its battery full for use later out of the vehicle. Main concern that it would kill/drain my old battery in my '94 car. No problems whatsoever! If/When I get a new(er) car, I'll probably mount it (yeah, now I'll have to shop around for a new car based on the lighter/adapter location!!!!). That cable could be longer.

Good Price, does what it says.
Comment:
This product is priced well and does exactly what it says... it is both Mac and PC compatable, and very fast (considering it is USB 2.0). The only issus I have is that the power adapter cable that plugs into the hard drive is very tight and cannot be inserted fully, but it hasn't fallen out on me yet.

Good Value
Comment:
Arrived fast, seems to be good quality. Only drawback I could find was my 500 gig sata drive filled with storage and backups, shows as uninitilized, all data will be lost if initialized. If a reinstall of the OS ever happens after initialization, your back to square 1. For that it got a 3 in Performance. Does work perfect with any ATA EIDE (Ribbon connection) Drive, or CD/DVD player.

Unreliable product.
Comment:
Purchased this to transfer data from IDE drives to a SATA system. Results: 3 drives readable [250g Maxtor HDD, 160g WD HDD, 80g Seagate HDD] 1 drive unreadable by Ultra cable but readable by IDE based computer [120g WD HDD] 1 drive no longer recognized by either Ultra or IDE based computer (which worked prior to using Ultra cable) [160g WD HDD] I am hesitant to use it further as I don't want to risk losing the data. Drives are cheap but data is everything! Review score is on product only. Company itself, did an excellent job. Fast prompt shipping and well packaged. Product exactly as described. Prices below semi-local area (I had to travel 30 miles just to find an enclosure model for transferring data). Would buy from here again.
