Works
Comment:
Bought this product to improve range and signal in our home. The product does just what it says. No CD or download for software on Netgears site. Not a problem because I planned on setting it up through the routers web based setup.

Great Unit
Comment:
I have owned, setup,or used,Linksys,Belkin,D Link, and this NetGear. My first wireless was a Linksys ordered from the USA before you could buy them here,it was a wireless B with a PCI card, laptop PCMCIA card, and one or two usb base dongles for about $700.00 plus CDN ouch that's gotta hurt. This unit is fine to setup, and in over a year it has been running I have not needed to reset it.It just works the way it should.I may have done updates on fimware, but if I did it was not to repair a problem it would have been that I was working on the settings and did the update because I was in there. My unit was a refurb and I bought a second unit after as a spare. At this price don't think about it,I have Rogers and my down speed is 9861kbps,I just downloaded open office to my laptop on the WPN824NA in 2mins 28sec the file was 148MB.Because my speeds and coverage is fine all over my house, the router is downstairs and I'm on my laptop up stairs now, I will not be looking to upgrade to wireless N.

better than my old linksys
Comment:
old BEFW11S4 Linksys router was slow, and dropped the connections a lot. This baby while of course faster is more stable. have not lost my connection or had to redo all my settings. Setup was a bit confusing at first, but didn't take long to sort out the different wording of things. had to disable the WEP to get laptops online. Once all the laptops were connected turning on WEP for security didn't effect the laptops and connect instantly now.

I had a little trouble setting up my wireless network with out the driver disks. I called Netgear support and were more than helpful. Great wireless router.

Great value and easy to use
Comment:
I am a prime example of someone who is technically dysfunctional. I needed wireless to connect an upstairs computer to our main computer downstairs. After reading all the other reviews, I decided on this model (which was half the price of something similar at Office Max). First I went to Netgear's website and downloaded the instruction manual; then I printed the pages I needed. Specifically, the part explaining what to unplug, connect, and in which order. The instructions were very easy to follow. In a very short amount of time, it was up and running. I was quite reluctant to attempt a wireless network on my own, but this made the process very easy. Thank you for all the previous reviews, and thank you for saving me money.

I live in the country and have antenea service (similar to cell phone tower) My service provider recomended I switch from my Lynksys to this Netgear when I complained of slow speeds. I really can't tell any difference. I haven't gone to other rooms yet although he told me the Netgear would work better between walls.

Very good

I was a little sceptical before buying the refurbished one. But it went far ahead of my expectation in quality and performance. Only one thing you need to struggle is to search in internet about the installation guide. Search for WPN824v2 pdf file in google. And then voila. Perform the operation step wise as mentioned in the guide and then you are on. Don't think twice before buying this refurbished as you will be astonished to see its performance and look as par with the new one. Enjoy!!!

Great product for great price
Comment:
This netgear product was a sweet deal. Easy to configure for my cable modem internet connection. It has lots of features if you need security and other remote access options. And if you like to see a simple "blue light show", you can turn on the blue dome of lights.

Excellent!
Comment:
Being the networking nut I am I saw this and its blue glowing center is really what brought me in (just kidding). What really is nice about this is I have not EVER had a dropped signal in even the most farthest parts of my house and my router is in my basement which is largely constructed of steel. This routers setup is also very nice, not as nice as the linksys interface but it certainly gets the job done with a few nice features. All my wireless G devices have increased in speed by allot and even my iPod touch, PSP, and nintendo DS have benefited from this handy little router and for the price its great. Honestly if you have $25 buy this thing just to try (cheaper than a nice lunch)it can also be setup to work as a wireless repeater for a 1/4th of the price. Great overall!

Ordered one day got it the next, took 5 minutes to set up and working though took a little longer to encrypt. Excellent piece of kit. Since i have been back in England i have looked for the same and the best i can get is 78 or $110. So next time i am over the pond i will order another one. Well done again

I bought this router to replace a Linksys WRT54G and there was great improvement in range and performance. You just remove the cables from your old router , plug them into this BEAST , and BOOM ! , your online.

Always coming back to Netgear
Comment:
My first wireless router was a WGR614 Netgear router. When I found a refurbed WPN for $20 I snatched it up and was very pleased with the performance. After a freak lightning strike took out my home network, I returned to refurbed WPN's and have not been disappointed. Easy to set up, easy to use and very reliable. Throw in the discounted price for the refurb and you can't beat it!!

What a steal!
Comment:
I bought this router, same price, from Tiger roughly 1 year ago today, and it currently offers wireless signals to both our Wii and our laptop, while hard wired are our desktop and X-box 360. The WEP encryption is cake to setup, and it basically works right out of the box. You login to the router and view it's settings just like a webpage, which makes it very easy to manage, and it has lots of resources at it's disposal. We are in an apartment currently running on cable internet, and we can go probably 900 feet in all directions, even when walls separate the router without the slightest loss in signal. Boy am I glad I bought this puppy. So glad, that I ordered one of their recertified PCI adapters for this desktop. Can't wait to try it out. A great product, don't be afraid to save!

Great Router But....
Comment:
This router is as advertised. Connects and sets up easy. Fast and reliable. The only problem is the hardware block site feature. If you want to block sites at the router, this isn't for you. If you don't need that feature, you can't beat the performance for the dollar.

This product was well worth the small investment. The setup and installation was easy. I did purchase the Cisco Netgear software to manage my network and that helped.

Great value
Comment:
They said recertifed, it looked new to me. All I can figure is that it was a return from somebody who could not make it work. It was a close to plug and play for a secured network as can be. The only thing that scarred me was that it seemed too easy, I was up and running with WEP password enabled in 5 minutes. Range is incredible and it has not dropped a signal once in the month I've had it up and running. I would recommend this router to anybody who does not require "N".

A good deal
Comment:
I don't know about 1000% more coverage, however this router is a good value based on price and functionality. It is very easy to set up and works quite well @ 54Mbps if you want the higher transfer rate, you are going to have to buy Netgears 108 Mbps wifi reciever, this all understood, it works well. (I have never tried this, but this unit has a repeater mode where it can actually be used as a repeater to extend your wireless range.)
