Netgear RangeMax Wireless Router - 802.11b/g with Smart MIMO

I purchased the re-furbished Netgear WPN824NA wireless router for $25 over a month ago and have not had one problem with it since it was installed. The directions for configuring the router were straight forward and easy to follow, and I had the router up and running in less than 10 or 15 minutes. Since it's first connection until now it has not hung up, re-booted itself, or caused any issues with either my wired or wirless connections. I have an older PC running XP directly connected, and two newer laptops running Windows Vista and Windows 7 respectively and all have not had one problem working with this device. For the price there is no comparison!

I bought this recertified and it is working quite well. The only trouble I incured was trying to burn the software to a disk as it is an img file. If anybody has run across away to burn this img to disk I would like to know. I have tried alot of differant burning software and no good results. It is a good product in all my Wii is picking it up and my other computers as well. The longest range is 60 feet with good speed.

I bought the Netgear WPN824NA wireless router so I could add my laptop to my LAN without having to plug in a cable each time to get internet service and it works fantastically! It offers plenty of pick up range, so I can use my laptop anywhere in the house with no problems. I think this was a very good value at a very good price!

The price for this refurb was great. But it acts a little flakey and the serial number is blacked out so I can get no support. I've owned DLink and Linksys before and do not like the admin interface (not intuitivly layed out. There is also no way to set the date or timezome which is wrong so a pain to troubleshoot. It needs an occasional reboot to get out ofsome strange state.

refurbished unit is no different from the retail new I bought down the street. excellent home router to multiple PCs. simple. easy. clean. secure. a bargain at 37% less than retail new!

I purchased this unit with the wireless adapter WG111 to connect another PC to the internet, everything connected great but the reception is very poor, I also use it for wifi on my iphone, My other PC is located directly above the router in an upstairs room only 10' away in a direct line, and the quality is low to very low and its like using a dial-up connection. While using my iphone, if I leave the room the router is in, I lose my connection completely. If you plan to purchase a wireless router and you will use it in the same room this unit will work fine, otherwise find a unit with a better range. I have also attempted to use it with a Wii console located in another room and it will not connect. I really would not recommend this unit!!!!!

I have been a netgear owner for many years and I started having some lag issue with my wgr614 so I purchased this router and my internet browsing experience is amazing. To all of the people out there that are experiencing extreme lag like I was keep in mind that your current router is the cause because it is a piece of hardware and like any other peripheral it can and will go bad. I love netgear however because I had my wgr614 for about 7 or 8 years before I started having issues.

Replaced my wireless b router with this one. For the price it can't be beat. Installed quickly and has been running with no issues for about a month.

Router installed easily. The range is not that much better than my 801.11b router, but that is most likely due to the lead paint in my old house... Big LED dome light is pointless, turned it off immediately. I need to learn about all the settings to optimize it I suppose.

Bought a refurbished model of version 3, it was well packaged you couldn't look at it and tell it was refurbished. I installed the latest firmware and it's been working well so far.

Refurbished was packaged as well as the retail version. No visual indication that it has been refurbished. I have had one of these for about a year now and I purchased this second one to be used as a repeater to extend coverage on my property. Works well, no complaints.

works very good allowing 2 computers access to the internet through a cable modem with windows me on 1 computer and xp on another.

The WiFi works great! I was instructed to go on line to get the upgrade, and it's installation software first. Then I plugged it in and it fired up. Nice lights too!

We are very pleased. Went to the Netgear site, downloaded the manual and was up and running with WPA security in under an hour. Set up a 3rd PC in my workshop, over a 120 feet way and still have good connection. This was a great purchase and a wonderful price. Only wish it had a USB connection. I have recommended this router to my friends.

This does work a bit. I never got the disc with the purchase. I had to look for the program online. Very hacktic to make this thing work. Could not make it work on the 1st place. And when i got it to work it keep on dying on me. Dont waste you money online. Get the one Real from store. And you will get a good luck.

I have version 3. Make sure the FIRST think you do is download and install the latest firmware. Reaches into corners of house with 2-3X the signal strength of previous routers - even using a hi-gain antenna. Seems to have a fairly fast processor, but not a HUGE difference from comparable routers. Previous two routers supported a 2nd subnet on the Wi-Fi for Internet only access - often called a guest mode. This unit does not. Not a deal breaker for me, might be for you.

Unit initially installed error free, after running 3 weeks the router lost it's config and had to be reset. The unit appears fine now.

I got this router to replace this excat router from BestBuy which costed my friend almost 80 bucks. When i told her that I could get her that excat model refurbished for only one-forth of bestbuy's price she couldn't believe it. Well lets say after a month and a half shes used it, seen it and believes it. Not to mention it worked even better than the orginal. Thanks TD!

was tricky to set up because it didn't auto detect the ip, dhcp, dns, etc. but strong signal on second floor from the basement so worth the price

Good price, but never got the wireless feature to work. Because it was refurbished, I was not entitled to live support...had to contact India via the website. The support rep's best answer was to press the reset button on the router.
