Good Price. Poor performance
Comment:
I bought this device to work with my Netgear RangeMax Wireless Router. Both devices were "re-certified", hence the very low prices. "A good idea to match them", I thought. This WPN111 adapter failed after only about 3 days of use. The computer that I installed it into could not continue to connect to our home network. The Netgear Wireless Router(WPN824v3) "hasn't skipped a beat", as they say. I thought that one good buy of a name brand re-certified device warranted trusting another of the same brand. NOT. Being disappointed with this adapter, we bought a Belkin USB Wireless Adapter instead (new,full-price) and it performs perfectly. Please research more deeply than I did before you decide on your purchases.

Didn't work right
Comment:
I had to hire a network specialist to get this to work. It required a special update to Windows XP that I would never have found in a hundred years. Works fine after that $75 investment. I can't recommend this product, even though it is cheap.

Drivers
Comment:
I purchased 2 of these and when i got them in the mail i opened them and the first thing it said to do was to insert the installment CD, come to find one does not come with them, although quick and easy i had to download a driver and put on a memory device to get these to work on my wife's and my desktops, essentially the worst product i have purchased from this retailer!

Couldn't make it work
Comment:
Tried to connect with Embarq DSL router from my E machine running ME. It connected but wouldn't go through to the internet. I did connect with my neighbor's unsecured router and went to the internet that way. Got no FIX from Netgear or Embarq. Guess I'll have to get another computer since Embarq said they couldn't support ME.

Very Good for the Price!
Comment:
The adapter came with directions and I bought it back in early August. Yes refurbished items are usually under a very limited warranty. This item performs well and is the best deal out there. If you are looking for a cheap adapter this is the way to go.

ONLY 54 MBPS
Comment:
THIS PRODUCT IS VERY USER FRIENDLY. BUT IT IS ADVERTISED AS 108 MBPS AND ONLY FUNCTIONS AS 54 MBPS. IF THIS IS ALL YOU NEED, ITS A GREAT DEVICE.

Don't do it!
Comment:
I purchased the WPN 111 with the direction of the Comp USA rep. I wanted a booster to increase the reception of WIFI in public areas. This was refurbished which I knew. I didn't know that you are completely on your own after purchase. Netgear support does not help with refurbished equipment!!! They offered nothing! Comp USA offered nothing!! Definitely makes the arguement for not buying online! I received nothing but the unit. No info, instruction, CD's. They should have put a sticker in the box that read "Sucker". Leason learned!!!!

You get what you paid for.
Comment:
Only works well with specified router. I'm less than 30 ft. from my router and most of the time my connection is only 2 out of five bars and it drops the connection out of the blue. But it is cheap and works most of the time.

Good product
Comment:
This is a good product.I cannot tell if it's the best. But it's the best among my three belkin wireless adapter. In comparison, this download fast and easy to use;Even though no installation CD included but it is plug and play.As soon as you insert it into your pc,it will automatically search and install driver and in a minute or two you're ready to go. I recommend this product. It's a good deal for the price.

Great Hardware - So so software
Comment:
First off you must download the software, but for less than $10 what do you want? Installed no problem (XP) and has really good range. My only fault is that I use it at the fringe of its ability to function and on occasion it will drop out due to weather conditions. No surprize there, but until it reconnects (which is not always possible) it will not pay any attention to attemps to "safely remove hardware" and if you try to shut down the computer it really makes a mess of things. So- bottom line - great hardware and price, but the software leaves something to be desired. For $10 I'm happy.

Difficult set up
Comment:
Product has no serial number so Netgear said technical support on phone had to be paid for. You are on your own setting up.

Cheap and works well
Comment:
I've had this USB wireless adapter for a year and it works very well, capturing signals in the "very Good" range in the house next door though concrete walls. The USB extension cord helps in orienting the unit for best reception. It does run hot, but I've had no problems even after hours of use. I have THREE of these.

As good as any
Comment:
This is my first Netgear product. It required downloading updated drivers. After that it has worked fine. As far as "Range Max", I'm only 20 feet from the transmitter. This was the best for the money. I've had it about three weeks now. Oh yeah the velcro pad that your supposed to hang it from gets too hot and the adhesive lets go. The adapter is hanging over the top of my monitor. That's the worst I can say so far. I hope this was helpful.

This product rocks. I can pick up alot of differnt signals that I couldn't get with an internal wifi card. If your looking for a WIFi adapter get this on instead of speading money on an internal card

Item ordered misrepresented by Sales Person
Comment:
I was sent the wrong Net Gear Adapter. I explained to the salesperson which router I was using and he said the router I was being sent was compatible. Not true. Since it is a refurbished Wireless Adapter I cannot exchange it or get a refund. I am very displeased.

I will not buy another refurbish Netgear adapter
Comment:
My roomate purchased me a netgear wireless adapter and not only did it not have the cd, but we tried to download the information to go on my laptop and it crashed my laptop, and her desktop computer and now all her work is gone and my computer can't play cds or dvds any more. We called on Sunday and the woman had us down load the information for the download information for the adapter, but the adapter had a trojan horse on it, with porn connected to it. We were terribly disappointed with the adapter and we are sending it back..

Great product for the price
Comment:
Had to download the driver from the Netgear site which would have been a problem if this would have been my only means to access to the internet. This is the second WPN111 adapter I bought. Works very well and was an excellent value. Works great with good range.

I had no problem installing and had it up and running in minutes. So much easier than putting in an ethernet card.
