Super value

Didn't come with driver CD's but you can easily download drivers from Netgear's support page. I bought two of these and one was installed on a Vista PC and one on an XP PC and I have not had issues with either. Price wise this site was unbeatable on this deal - both for $26.95 !

Great buy
Comment:
Great value and performance, I've had this for 2 months with no complaints. No software or setup disk included but simply download the drivers from the netgear website and you're good to go.

TOTALLY AWESOME
Comment:
My expert son told me not to spend more than $10 for one of these, but every store I looked at, cheapest was $59 and not a good brand. So I went back to my dear old TigerDirect, purchased it for hardly anything, AND...it works like a charm! And, I didn't have to add anything else to make it work properly.

I got a dud. I get internet for about 10 mins, then nothing. I have to restart my computer to get another 10 minutes of internet before the thing shuts off again. Feels like it overheats. Warranty is only 30 days. :(

PROS: Great price for a functional and extremely effective device (so far). CONS: Cheap Chinese plastic. It seems like something like this would fail under a long period of stress but I am yet to find out. It gets HOTTT. Conclusion:: ''3'' on quality ''5'' on everthing else. If in a crunch take risk on cheap quality construction. It works very well for me I just have to be careful with it. I was one of the lucky ones. Read other reviews to figure the odds.

Received item and it was not working at all. Called there tech support and after waiting for over 20 minutes was told their recertified products are only supported thru email so if you are not real computer savy and may be a chance you will need tech support do not buy this item.

I bough a belkin router 2 years ago for 29.99, I though I needed a better quality router so I bought the Netgear WP111 USB Wireless Adapter, after my belkin was replaced by the netgear, the internet speed is the same, the range of wireless is the same, but some websites are impossible to watch with Netgear, so I wastet 100.00 dollar for nothing

Netgear WPN111 RangeMax Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter
Comment:
Had Netgear before (PCI) no problems. This Adapter however is having performance issues to no end, the worst being constant disconnects, where you have to disconnect and re-connect the adapter to get it going again. I bought 2 of them, same problem. Also, do not use the Netgear software, use the native windiws driver, it will work slightly better, not as many disconnects. Before buying again, I am going to Google the net instead of believing what I read here. The net is full of comments about this adapter, mostly negative. This adapter has been around for a while, and one would think that Netgear would have fixed these problems....I'll return to buying D-Link again

BEWARE WPN824 WIRELESS ROUTER and this adapter. Someone must have just bought last router before I could add review. I'm a network engineer so thought I'd get cheap recertified router for parents. Router works great except for when using wireless security. If you live in the woods and don't need wep or wpa to protect your bandwidth then this product is for you. Otherwise pass on this. I also bought wpn111 adapter...unfortunately this adapter could not even grab a network address from netgear router with security on...at least the non-netgear brand wireless adapter was able to assign an address. Make a long story short, stay away from both products...

Netgear WPN111 RangeMax Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter
Comment:
Bought this adapter to go with a new Netgear 108Mbps RangeMax router. I have 2 pcs. The bedroom pc has Netgear internal wireless. No issues at all with wireless internet. My livingroom pc I put this wireless adapter in to eliminate some wires... well... I get dropped a lot with the adapter and this pc is in the same room as the Netgear router. ??? I'm not real techie so i'm not sure why i'm having a problem but i've already gone back to wired connection because it's too annoying to get dropped when I'm in the middle of something and then have to sit and wait for it to reload. Adapter runs hot as well. Another issue is the adapter will not restart coming out of hibernation. I have to actually remove it and restart the pc and then plug it back in to get it to work... Overall... not worth the money BUT CUDOS TO TIGERDIRECT! I got it in under 24 hours from when I ordered.. that is amazing!

Not sure how to rate this product as it doesn't seem to work with my router, but it can connect to my neighbors. I use it with my desktop PC running XP SP2. I have it sitting right on top of my D-Link wireless router, but for some reason it can't connect. I can see my network, but the signal strength is constantly changing. I know my router is working fine because I can connect to it with my laptop with no problem. And I know the NetGear USB adapter is working because I can connect to my neighbor's network with it. The NetGear USB adapter runs pretty warm - must use a lot of power. The accompanying software is fairly intuitive and easy to use. I just wish I could figure out why I can't connect to my D-Link router.

Excellent!!!!! Thats all i can say. Compared to a PCI slot wireless adapter this fairs just about the same. I get full signal from upstairs and its definitely a cheap buy. Doesn't look refurbished at all, although it is missing the CD it should come with its an easy download from their website, its a simple program to run and very easy install.______________________________ If you dont mind a used USB slot, or it poking out a little, this is well worth the money.

Netgear WPN111 RangeMax Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter
Comment:
This adapter was a great value at 15$ a few months ago. The problem with this adapter is getting it to consistently work on a wireless network with WPA-TKIP security. WEP works fine and stays up but it is easily hacked and no one wants that. Once you get it to work on WPA security you will expect it to drop after 15 mintues or so. Then it will not connect back to it without pulling your hair out for 30 minutes of troubleshooting. the problem may be that the adapter is on a USB cable and not direct into the board, but then again, why would it work at all? I would not recommend this adapter if you want strong security on your network.

The adapter installed easily enough and actually worked, but it did not provide the speed it was supposed to. I paired it with the Rangemax router it was designed to work with, but the performance was still terrible. Not even 1 Mbps.

This unit was refurbished. I have had good luck with refurbished items from TigerDirect, but this one was a bummer. Didn't work at all. But they took it back - no questions asked. Great to deal with Tiger.
